Shanny draws an arrow and holds with bowfingers, pointing at the bound orc, but scanning the scene north for accessable target(s) or for allies in trouble.
He will not fire this round, unless one or more of the opponents gets free and out of melee.

Thanks DM - no problem on the roll.
I think we will be having a day or two's rest after this wont we?!
Nice shot again Stoney
Kaltar indeed strikes again :
Mace Action To Hit [1d20] = 6 Dam [1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3
but does an impressive pirouette, missing the goblin by a mile.

Round 3
Start of round three:
The worg turns its attention to Gwillt, hoping to duplicate against this second ranger what it was able to accomplish against the lance with its last effort. Gwillt, however, proves to be too difficult a target and is able to successfully avoid the razor-sharp teeth as they snap shut next to him.
The pair of rangers tag-team the shifty worg. Distracted by the shooting pains in his side, Alordan is unable to find his mark. Gwillt, too, finds himself slicing air as the worg is proving to be a worthy adversary.
Now without his lance, Ewell is forced to return to the stockpile of weapons acquired from the captured orcs and is thankful when he discovers a single longsword amongst the possessions. He tests the weight and balance of his new weapon as he returns to the battle with the worg and, while it will suffice, he finds himself cursing the crude craftsmanship of the inferior weapon.
With Strom and Kaltar now upon them, both goblins (g6, g7) quickly switch to their short swords and attempt to snipe at the humans opposing them. Strom is easily able to defect the stabbing attempt of his goblin (g7), but his return slashing attempt is equally unsuccessful. Kaltar almost feels the point of the short sword from the goblin paired off against him, but the blade never quite does penetrate the links of Kaltar's chain mail. Determined to finally be rid of the pesky goblin standing before him, Kaltar brings his mace around in a wicked swing, which the goblin was able to successfully duck under.
Shannigans draws an arrow and holds his aim, pointing at the bound orc, but as he scans the scene to the north. His eyes grow wide as he detects nearly a dozen goblin reinforcements, already storming north across the canyon, just before they unleash a wave of javelins. With a group of obvious targets in sight, Shannigans releases the arrow he already had drawn and, despite it resulting in a mere glancing blow, the goblin it strikes (gb6) falls dead.
Three of the incoming javelins find their marks. Two of the striking javelins embedded themselves into the back of the goblin facing Kaltar (g6), very much guaranteeing its death, but the third javelin finding its mark critically catches Strom in the chest (-9hp), wounding the noble warrior terribly.
A whistle can be heard being blown, and another small batch of the annoying creatures is spotted climbing the rope up the face of the cliff (the same rope from which Gwillt originally descended).
Garth wishes he had spotted the climbing goblins earlier, so he could have attempted to cast Entangle upon them, but fears his spell would be wasted by the time he would be able to cast it. Instead, he quickly retreives his sling and fires off a bullet at the new group of goblins, not caring which he hit. His bullet flies true, striking one of the javelin hurling goblins (gc0), dropping it.

Think it may be time to run away!
Kaltar swings again - hoping to extricate himself and Strom from the battle after killing the goblin quickly:
Mace Action To Hit [1d20] = 2 Dam [1d6+1] = 5+1 = 6
But he misses again. A look of concern passes across the clerics face.

Think again...
Ewell, absolutely enraged with the loss of his favorite lance (and a bit impressed with the fighting abilitiy of the worg) moves in for the kill with his orcish long sword.
longsword to hit (+3 str bonus): [1d20+3] = 18+3 = 21 , damage1d8 (+4 str bonus): [1d8+4 ] = 1+4 = 5
That should finish him up with Alordan's hit...

So we have 10-11 goblins fighting us, and an unknown additional ones climbing? It is getting darker. I think we need to quickly dispatch those goblins, and retreat into the woods for the night.

Round 4
Start of round four:
The worg continues its assault against Gwillt, this time able to sneak its snapping jaws past his defenses (-6hp). Gwillt attempts to fight off the shock of the worgs attack, but the sharpness of the pain contributes to his inability to successfully counter. Alordan and Ewell are both able to land crushing blows and a soft whimper is the last sound heard from the troublesome beast.
The nuisance engaged with Kalter and Strom (g7) continues to put up a good fight. It pokes at Kaltar with its short sword which Kaltar is able to easily deflect with his shield, and the connection causes the blade from the goblins short sword to break off at the hilt, rendering the weapon useless. Kalter and Strom continue their attempts to rid themselves of this pesky foe, but it is somehow able to escape damage and lives to fight on!
Another wave of javelins decorates the sky, most targeting Shannigans, Garth and the last orc prisoner (o9). Shannigans and Garth are able to take elusive actions. The orc, however, is not so fortunate as two javelins sink its flesh killing it.
Shannigans notices Strom fight off the effects of a serious attack and calls off to Garth to assist their wounded comrade. Garth, noticing the proud warrior continue to fight on alongside Kaltar, decides that a better option would be to 'Entangle' this new group of ranged attacking goblins. Holy symbol displayed, he concentrates on an area directly in the center of this new group of goblins and utters some incomprehensible words, hoping there's enough grass, plants or other foliage in this level canyon to work at immobilizing his targets. Sure enough, the entire collection of ranged foes can be seen dropping their weapons and working to free themselves from the binds now locking their feet in place. Shannigans sends another pair of arrows at the now bound goblins and the second of his arrows finds its mark, killing its victim (gc3).
The small batch of goblins previously seen climbing the rope reach the top of the cliff and, at least momentarily, disappear.

Strategy?
NOw that the only enemy is entangled, Ewell really cant participate. Shall the goodie goodie meleers start heading into the woods and setting up camp, while the umm, morally challenged decide what to do with the goblins?
Also-no clue what to think regarding the rope climbers. I guess they they can walk toward us, and hail missiles down upon us??? NOt sure if the topography up top allows for that...

Re: 02. New Situation at the Falls
I would assume that just because they're entangled, that doesn't mean they can't still fire their bows... I don't know if the spell description is clear enough.
I guess it just depends on your interpretation of "holding them fast". Or, rather, it depends on the DM's interpretation of "holding them fast".
There isn't anything atop the cliff like a trebuchet or a catapult they could use to launch anything big at us. They might be able to fire arrows/javelins with better range, but I'm not sure. They could be going for help or even transporting something valuable out of the cave.
The duration of the entangle spell is one turn. That would give the three ranged attackers 10 rounds to dispatch the goblin javelin tossers from a distance.
Unfortunately, it just gives us a 10 minute head start if we try to flee. Sorry, retreat.
I assume whatever we do, we're going to have to decide it pretty quickly. If we're going to kill the goblins that are trapped, I'd rather have as many rounds possible to do so. Of course, that will cost some arrows. But if there is a town nearby (where did your character come from, raven?), restocking should be fairly easy.

Entangle: By means of this spell, the caster is able to cause plants in the area of effect to entangle creatures within the area. The grasses, weeds, bushes, and even trees wrap, twist, and entwine about the creatures, holding them fast for the duration of the spell.
