Andronichishche
Save versus Paralyzation (9): [1d20+4]=20+4=24
He begins backing away, out of the area with the tentacles. "We mean you no harm. We're looking for our new friends. Is Bobo here?" In a low voice, he adds, "Miss Lerrick ... we may need a Continual Light spell ..."

Alordan notices the writhing tentacles utters, "Do you think they are really our friends...?"

Kruk better not foil my dastardly plans for this scene.

Re: The Lost Tavern
Lerrick
Save vs Paralyzation: (9): [1d20]=20
Oh no... She mumbles a prayer
Lerrick casts light on one of figures standing within the tentacles while she continues to hold her glow stone high so that the group can see as they slowly retreat.
Cresty
Save vs Paralyzation: (14) [1d20]=18
The figure moves backward slowly, shifting sideways so that he can look both ways for any threats from in front or behind the group as them make their way back out.
Not today paralyzation!

Re: The Lost Tavern
Wow!
Unprecedented.
Congratulations.
The Lost Tavern
The Ethereal Marketplace
As quickly as the party rushes into the darkness at the end of the alley, becoming enveloped within numerous groping tentacles, each of them bolts back to the safety of the main street and out of the reach of the wriggling menace.
When they look each other over, every one of them has trickles of blood running across any exposed skin. Investigating the wounds, tiny spines are found sticking out of these minor wounds. (each character takes 2 points of damage, even though the wounds don't actually hurt at all)
Andron gets no reply to his request for Bobo, while Lerrick casts a spell into the darkness, illuminating what she can only believe to be one of the children they met earlier.
Unsure what to make of this unusual encounter, the entire group suddenly receives a telepathic message in their minds.
"Well, that was unusual. I don't remember that ever happening before. We meant no harm, just protecting our own. What......business do you have with young Bobo?"
Actions?
Aliendron AC10 11/17 (CL4) 1st 0/5 2nd 1/4 (MU3) RM, CL, DM, 1st 0/2 2nd 0/1

The cleric immediately goes into medic mode going from one member to another checking to see if anyone was hurt. She is relieved to see that no one was seriously hurt over the encounter.

Re: The Lost Tavern
Theo is surprisingly not very surprised to hear a voice in his head. Apparently they're in another dimension, after. Not that something like that wouldn't happen back on the island. He listens for an answer to Tlachga's question.

"We are new arrivals to this place. Bobo and his friends approached us for alms. I gave them what coin I had and in return they offered to guide us through the market. We were led to a weapons shop, but upon leaving only one lad was awaiting our return. He then led us ... here. Are you their custodian?"

Re: The Lost Tavern
The Lost Tavern
The Ethereal Marketplace
Lerrick looks the group over while the answers to their questions are telepathically communicated back to them.
"We prefer to stay here, in the darkness."
"We take in Market waifs too poor or too weak to help themselves. We have a mutual arrangement that aids each other. None of these children are held here against their will. They work with us because they like to eat......and live."
"The children need a purpose, and we need a means to do Market business without frightening the populace with our presence. It has been the way of things for some time, and serves us both well."
"If any of you needs a purpose, you are welcome to join our guild as well."
Peering into the alley, the darkness at its terminus remains difficult to see beyond, but the floating round shapes, the figures of the children, and especially the forest of tentacles remain right were they were.

Re: The Lost Tavern
Theo, as is his habit (except when archery things are involved), remains quiet and listens.
