Xenos tries to lift the rotting bag up with the tip of his sword or, if it has rotted too far to hold together, to open it up enough to see what is inside.

Valkrina

Hearing the orders and deliberations, she will assume some form of counterattack is being organised.

She warns the others, moving away from the door and begins to invite her Bardic Bless influence upon her comrades, inspiring them for the impending combat.

Akhilleus heeds Valkrina's warning an positions himself next to the door, but not in front of it, sword drawn and shield high.

Battle In The Open Courtyard
Ruined Warlords Palace

Drest and Snorri rest in the open courtyard, watching for the approach of any more adversaries.

Valkrina warns the others of possible trouble, moving away from the door where she starts up a melodious tune, hoping to rouse the fighting spirits of her companions.

Akhilleus takes note of the bards action, getting into a battle stance and preparing for the worst.

Xenos drags the long hidden rotting bag towards himself with his sword, watching as 2 uncut colored stones fall out of the tattered remains to the dirt floor. One is a pinkish hued rhomboid, while the other is an iridescent spindle shape.

Cyril moves up the sand covered hallway towards the door to remove the bar blocking it from opening. About half way there, he falls through the thin covering of a concealed pit, suddenly catching the attention of Drest, who clearly hears the man shriek as he plummets to the sandy bottom. Give me a Test of Dex with your action, please. And a Save vs. Poison, while you are at it.

Though not dead yet, the Priest of Azathoth soon learns he is not alone at the bottom of this 6' deep pit either.

Xenos

Xenos grabs the two strange stones and slips them into a pouch for later consideration. He then joins Akhilleus, ready for what might come through the door.

Cyril

Not a good start

Save vs. Poison = 16

Cyril yelps out "Help! I need a hand here or you may be down one mad priest!" He then scans the walls of the pit to see what it would take to climb them himself before locking eyes on the approaching scorpion. "Get back you poisonous vermin." He switches to his quarterstaff and waits to see if the foe approaches.

Drest

Loud enough for everyone to hear, "Cyril is in trouble down the eastern passage!"

Drest moves to assist Cyril.

Valkrina

Continues her Esquimaux chant about spearing whales and hunting great sea beasties and raging against the sea storms. It all adds to the stirring on the inner warrior spirit. Perhaps a few Viking verses as learned in Port Zangeiros those unknown days ago.

(Inspire Allies: adds +1 to attack rolls and damage on round 3+), so she still needs to stir the others into warrior mode and keep those intent on attacking us at bay this round.

Did anyone pick up the blow-dart weapons dropped from those we slew? We need to use them also, I have no range attack. If one is available, I would arm myself with it, (using it as a conductor stuck to gee up the chorus) before putting any dart in to aim at intruders coming through the door.

Battle In The Covered Stables?
Ruined Warlords Palace

Cyril stumbles face first into the concealed pit, crashing to the sandy bottom where the black scorpion stings him right in the center of his forehead. 1 dam Leaping to his feet and shouting for aid, he feels the poison surging around the wound, swelling his skin and distorting his facial features badly. Thankfully, by the time Drest and Snorri arrive to yank him out by the shoulders, the horrifying effect has already started to wane, but still looks really freakish for a short while.

When Xenos takes possession of the strange stones, blowing the sand and grit away before stowing them on his person, something astonishing happens. Both stones suddenly zip upwards into the air where they float around and spin in mesmerizing patterns, slowly orbiting the Warlock’s head, resulting in a noticeable internal boost in his physical well being. (+1 to Constitution)

Akhilleus remains alert and Valkrina continues her recital, using newly learned Viking lore to add to her stirring tale. The door they watch intently, awaiting a third wave of enemies, remains closed.

Grabbing one of the blowdart tubes is cool with me. You find three unspent darts with goo smeared points on one of the dead.

Drest

Are Drest, Cyril, and Snorri safe from the scorpion now? If it is visible in the pit could he throw a rock at it?

Cyril

"...Got me right between the eyes. That will leave a mark." he says as he rubs his forehead. "Thank you for the assistance."

If Cyril can spot a clear path to the front gate...and he REALLY makes sure there is nothing else between him and the exit, he will again try to unbar the door.

Yes, the scorpion is still stuck down below in this otherwise empty pit.

Xenos

Surprised at the stones behaviour, he heads over to Akhilleus and Valkrina.

"I've found something interesting" he gestures to the floating stones "I think the slaves are waiting for us to come to them, it's what I'd do. All of us need to attack them all at once, we should gather the others."

Drest

Drest is going to pick up and throw stones at the scorpion to try and kill it while staying back far enough he can't get stung.

Valkrina

In between verses of her continued chant, she equips a blow dart gun, loading a bolt and readying it.

We should try to outflank them or just assault through the door.
