Turn 1

Boots
Boots will try to find a computer and create the simulation he was mentioning.
Boots has two skill levels that could apply to either roll so if both skills are needed he will split the levels one for each skill roll.
Computer Programming (14-): [_3d6]=(4+5+2)=11
Security Systems (14-): [_3d6]=(1+5+1)=7

Re: Turn 1
Nice rolls. Okay, you were taken to a computer access lab and given a terminal to play with. The parameters of your model will be based on the type of aircraft, Airbus 2000/Mod 6, which has a maximum speed of 640 MPH, max altitude of 60,000 feet, 200 passengers w/ 8 crew, Range of 2500 miles at altitude. Has 4 StrataDyne turbine engines, state of the art software and computer with the option of remote access in the advent of crew fatalities.gurusql wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 8:28 pm Boots

With your computer model, you show that the aircraft was in radar coverage nearly all the way. There was a 23 mile gap between Tobruk and El Salloum where coverage was lost. The flight never reentered a radar cup past that area.

w will go with boots and will watch what he does because he is interested in computers even tho he has no skill in them.

For the record in my last post while I do have Security Systems, I meant to be talking about System Operations (which I have the combined) two levels with and the same skill levels.
Given that we have an area, we will see what could be a place that this plane could land in that area.
Again on skill level for each
Computer Programming (14-): [_3d6]=(5+2+4)=11
System Operations (14-): [_3d6]=(6+1+4)=11

"Boots, let me know if I can help somehow."
He contunues to look around and check the place out.

Re: Turn 1
According to satellite scans, the nearest working airfield is the plane's destination. There are 10 other airfields in the area, but all show as run down and unusable.gurusql wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 4:07 am Boots

Boots tries to visualize the area on his screen.
Just in case I need another Computer Programming roll, 2 skill levels not shown
Computer Programming (14-): [_3d6]=(5+5+4)=14
The flag is the location of Tobruk and El Salloum is shown in the right side. Where would this airfield be?

I assume you are referring to the 'working' airfield. It is off the map several hundred miles southeast of the red dot.gurusql wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 1:34 am Boots

Boots will try to get information on this working airfield. Who owns it / controls it? Mega-Corp or nation state? Were does the support come from? Perhaps a supplier that we can use to our advantage? Perhaps one of those suppliers has a current vulnerability we exploit.

Re: Turn 1
Your roll indicates that the airfield is a neutral airfield maintained by numerous mega corporations as a pit stop in the region.gurusql wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 9:11 pm Boots

So we are running on the assumption that while off radar it was diverted to this other airfield? I'm assuming that this other airfield has radar. Can we get access to any logs that might show a plane in it's airspace from the right direction at the right time? Or even some historical satellite images from around the time?

Re: Turn 1
does the last radar contact detail altitude and heading? also were they over land or water?

Re: Turn 1
While going through images and information, you do get confusing information that there was an airborne radar operating in the vicinity.shaidar wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 7:46 am Hawk

Is there something I can roll to help determine the types of aircraft (i.e. commercial or military models) that operate with airbourne radar we are seeing hints of? If we have more of an idea of what we are looking for then that will help
I'll roll an INT check:
INT (13-): [_3d6]=(2+5+2)=9
His eidetic visual memory gives him a +5 (I think), so a definite pass.

The types of aircraft known in the area compared to the radar data says that whatever the unknown aircraft was, it falls outside of any known configurations.shaidar wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 2:23 pm Hawk
