Two rooms sounds good. Can they be connecting?
Is the weather really 78C? Where can we get insulation?

Let’s just spring for the suite. Gives us room to work and talk and rest up. Says Dimitri, as he pulls out his pad to transfer the credits.

Although the temperature and gravity inside Twilight's Peak is human normal (courtesy of technology), Port Royal itself is a tidally locked hell world. One side is burning, the other freezing cold. The hotel is nearer the hot side hence the tounge in cheek sign on the night manager's desk.

Port Royal
Twilight's Peak
Starlight Lodge " 1408 Governor's Suite"
Dimitri springs for the suite and group piles into the single lobby elevator.
The hotel is old with faded furnishings and has a faint but vaguely unpleasant odor lingering in the hallways. The suite itself is passable but with worn and faded furnishings.

Assuming this room is on the 14th floor:
Dmitri will scope the place out noting what’s outside the windows and beyond the balcony. In particular, he’ll assess the balcony and the other two windows for a method of escape and unwelcome access.
What can be seen or deduced?
He’ll lock the windows and balcony door and shut the curtains. He’ll lock and bar the hallway doors to the left bedroom then move the heavy chair over and place it with its back against the door. He’ll also lock and bar the main door and wedge a chair under the door knob.
I’ll keep an eye on the back patio. Y’all wanted to talk to Fendon the Rat.. Have fun. And make sure he initiates our credit transfer.
He’ll begin a pattern of moving from side to side of the curtained balcony doorway to peer around the edges of the curtain and get differing lines of sight. He’ll move at irregular intervals He’ll dim the center room lighting and keep the bedroom dark with the door mostly closed to prevent backlighting his observation positions yet able to hear the conversation in the center room. He’ll keep his silenced revolver in hand.
It’s pretty obvious he feels outta his league in this discussion.

Dimitri Checks Things Out
The Hotel faces a row of tenement apartments over storefronts that are currently shuttered and closed.
A 14 floor trip from the balcony wouldn't be an option without some special gear but an enterprising and dexterous soul might be able to climb down from the balcony level by level.
The neighborhood is run down and the streets are mostly empty of foot traffic. The occasional ground vehicle passes by on the streets below, usually taxis but occasionally a private car.

Alright Fendon, what’s going on? Who were those guys and what do they want? Also, I believe you owe Rando some money.

Yes, come on Fendon answer the man. We've had a stressful few hours since arriving on this planet mostly caused by you. Please give me a reason not to find out what this thing does.
Alphonse casually inspects the taser as if trying to workout how to activate it. Caressing the trigger guard he looks up and smile at Fendon.
Intimidation using Streetwise to impress on Fendon his need to co-operate

Dmitri continues keeping watch while listening in to the conversation.

Fendon's eyes widen into saucers as Alphonse manipulates the taser weapon.
"I told you the truth, yes I'm a professional gambler but I'm not a cheat. I'm really, really good. Unfortunately one of the passengers on our last leg of the trip was a syndicate enforcer. I thought he was just another mark but the joke was on me I guess. He told me I could go work for them or get acquainted with the surface. You have the cash as promised, we just need to wait until business hours for the Bank to open so I can access the accounts and the 20K is yours."

Rando
And so you snuck out - no attempt to make contact or provide back pay or come up with a counter move? With 20K you could just get the next ship out - Syndicates don't work between world just like Empires don't (and for the same reasons).
No - I'm sorry but your story doesn't wash.
You are up to something. And I'd prefer to wash my hands of you and you appear to be attracting stink.

Dmitri emerges from the room where he’s keeping watch to say, “Ya, Rando was there. Not buying the line of crap you’re selling.”
He takes his stun button and sparks it against the metal desk near the bedroom door. Then looks menacingly at Fendon, as he takes a step toward him.
“Don’t you dare try to play us, too. You rat turd!”
Looks like we’re setting up a good cop/bad cop scene with Terry as the only nice guy. Dmitri’s actions were intended to assist Rando or Alphonse in their intimidation efforts.

Alphonse leans in close to Fendon and whispers
Just be glad we're waiting for the banks to open. Now tell us what you're up to or my patience might run out and the street cleaner may have some extra work to do
Alphonse steps back and smiles mirthlessly

Terrys there to back up Rando, doesn’t really have any skin in the game.
So what are we doing? Hold him until tomorrow, get your money and then dump him on the street?

Port Royal
Twilight's Peak
Starlight Hotel
"Fine."
Fendon looks around the room shoulders slumping and emits a heavy sigh.
"The cards, hand me the cards that were in my pocket."
He opens the deck dumps the cards on the table. Very gently he peals apart a card revealing a delicate mesh of electronic circuitry.
"This is a spoof. It's mate was in the hotel room along with the pad. The room was the mark's and the target was the pad. I replaced his cards with the spoof while we were enroute to Port Royal. I lifted the room key during the game and was trying to make an exit when you showed up as a perfect diversion. The Pad is the mark's too but with the spoof I can bypass the biometrics and hard access his accounts.
Tomorrow when the banks open I take the pad in and with the spoof and make the exchange. He really is a syndicate enforcer so It's practically a victimless crime."

Never to be seen again and holding all the cash.

…and a transaction record linking the withdrawal to us. How much do you guys think we can get if we haul this maggot back to the club and hand him over to the sharks?
The reward on that pad alone ought to be huge. His hide would only be a bonus.

It has possibilities. What do we know of this syndicate and the enforcer?
Would they pay for him or would we just be collateral damage?
Streetwise roll for knowledge of their activities:
I could try talking to them if we think it's worth the risk

Fendon's already trying to put all the risk and very little reward on us either way...
He looks at Fendon accusingly.
