Newcomer, or Newcomers?
After dispatching the spectral form which threatened Vinwrick and Tova, the pair are appreciative, but cautiously apprehensive of the wild newcomer. "What's the problem?" scoffs Rumple. "He --" the goblin nods in Thrydwulf's direction -- "-- will be helpful in reclaiming the treasure. It's only one other share..."
"Maybe two..."Floki adds from where he's standing, just outside the doorway. The dwarf steps aside and into the room enters Lutharin, a slender elf adventurer.
Everyone, welcome Darklin2, playing Lutharin Aludian, a high elf rogue.

"The lot of you sure do make quite the racket. Perhaps some of my skills could be of some assistance?" the newest newcomer offers.

Recognition dawning on the ranger, he replies to the newcomer. Oh, yes! I remember now. There was some alcohol being consumed, so it's a bit foggy. Anyway, thank you for your aid. The two of you interested in joining our little band of travelers, eh? We'll be glad to have you. Safety in numbers, right? Name's Vinwrick. He holds out his hand to shake those of the newcomers.
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
Thrydwulf breaks into a broad, toothy grin and shakes Vinwrick's hand, enveloping it with his own. "Oh good," he says as he exhales a held breath in relief, "started feelin' crazy there for a minute." He steps from the room and returns with his haversack on his back, a large dirty cauldron and four gallon jugs tied to the top, a pick and shovel hung in loops on its side. "Thrydulf. That's me, at least." He looks around, hopefully at the others.
"So... where the heck are we?" he asks, scratching his scruffy cheek, looking at the tower interior.
Well this reunion is touching and all but I have no idea what your talking about. I saw the Goblin make a spectacle in front of the gates and thought I would follow you all and see if this Dragon Horde is real. If you didn't make the cut I was planning to finish the job for you. But since you are all doing well i decided to reveal myself and see if you wanted any help.
He continues to to play with a coin in his left hand. Rolling it back and forth down his knuckles.

Tova looks at the two trying to get the measure of them. He remains quiet for the moment. "I suppose additional help is appreciated, and perhaps a boon provided - thank the Light." He continues to look a little sideways at the pair - or perhaps at just the elf. He watches him twirl the coin and it appears to be that of the moves of someone more akin to taking what he needs versus working or fighting for it. 'Priase the Light, indeed' he thinks. He sighs. "Well met and thanks for stepping into this danger here." He'll keep an eye on that one for now...
Thrydwulf furrows his brows in obvious consternation as the elf admits he followed and watched idly to see if this group of small folk would die. He rolls up his sleeves to the elbows, exposing his blue woad knotwork tattoos, then scratches his beard thoughtfully. He looks back and forth at the other faces as the elf mentions a desire for a dragon hoard, but the large, unarmored man says nothing.
Where are my Manners? I am Lutharian but most call me Luthar. I am a quiet scout that is good with the Short Bow and can take care of myself. So what has your group decided to do? A few Goblins shouldn't give us any troubles.

Next Steps?
While there may still be some uncertainty and unease when it comes to the original survivors and the two newcomers, the lot agree to press on. "So, Rumple, where is this hoard you told us about?"Vinwrick asks. "I'm not seeing much here."
"Up," the snarky goblin "guide" offers simply. "More floors to climb,"Rumple continues, once again holding up both hands to reveal his eight remaining fingers, minus his pinkie fingers on each hand. "That many more," he chides indignantly, which is clearly not the case as the group remembers the tower consisting of only five or six total floors; the ground floor plus four or five additional levels.

You're currently on the second story, or the first above the ground floor. Thrydwulf was discovered in the stairwell leading up to the next floor, but, perhaps due to an exorbitant amount of alcohol consumption, the barbarian has no recollection of anything that may still linger on levels above.

Drawing Room Thrydwulf cracks opens the door at the top of the stairway and pokes his head through. Expecting the door to open into a hallway, the large man is startled slightly when the door opens directly into a room instead.
And the quiet chiming of melancholy pipe music being played is heard.
The sound originates from a large wooden pan flute attached directly across the room on the far wall, which appear to be playing itself.
The rest of the room is lavishly furnished, though the entire space is now covered with dust and cobwebs.
The walls are paneled in a dark wood, and the floor is carpeted with a thick and plush burgundy carpeting.
Counter-clockwise from the entry door, the large man spies a chair; two non-descript landscape paintings flanking a full-length mirror mounted in a frame; a golden-colored sofa beneath another non-descript landscape painting; the pan flute; a closed wooden door; and what appears to be a writing bureau roughly centered along the left-hand wall.

Thrydwulf lets the door swing all the way open and walks into the room, making room for the others. He examines his feet to see if he is disturbing the dust, and if the dust has been disturbed previously or recently.
"You'd think that I'd remember this," the large man ruminates, scratching his beard. He looks around again at the undisturbed dust and strange accoutrements. "Why'd you say we came here again?" he asks the others.
After a few moments, he moves decisively, crossing the room and poking the wall above and below the musical pipes with the stick-end of his polearm. "...more ghosts," he mutters.
Tova peers into the room curious. "This is a strange place. It seems the past lingers here..." He asks over his shoulder, "Rumple - what do you know of all this?"
