Kurot recovers from the strange energy blast. A quick diagnostic shows his systems are unaffected, so he resumes his overwatch of the entry corridor. He hears a slight scrape or scratching from the hallway, so he peeks in and sees a group of insect beings moving into the passage. He fires three arrows in rapid succession and ducks back behind the cover of the wall. He hears a screech, as he grazes one with an arrow. (1pt. dmg)
Denslow, Silvestri and Frank watch and wait for a target to enter their sight.
Ron aims and waits for a target of opportunity.
Bruce & MacMak suffer ill-effects from the energy blast and they stumble about. Both are able to move, but their joints are stiff and movement is erratic. (Action die are now 1d lower, so a d20 becomes a d16, a d16 becomes a d14, etc.)
(Belial, Denslow, Ron and Kurot made their saves)
MakMac makes his way behind cover with the others. He tries to understand why his limbs are sore.
Belial fights off the tingling sensation of the blue energy wave. He holds for an enemy to show itself.
---
From his position, Kurot is the first to spot a 6inch diameter ball roll into the room from the entry corridor. The orb curves into the northwestern wall and then explodes, shooting streams of green goo throughout the room. The slimy substance sticks on the walls, floor, ceiling, Denslow and Belial. (20ft radius)
OOC: Denslow and Belial must make a Reflex Save vs. DC 12
After the explosion, a scraping sound reverberates from the column. Two six-limbed insectoids burst through the doorway. Both wield shorts swords in four of their hands! One attacks Belial and the other hooks a right, into an exploding apple from Denslow (3pt. dmg)
Belial thrusts twice into the roachmonn with his Assegai and pierces the carapace! (5+8=13 pt. dmg)
Bruce moves around the cylinder, slower than usual, and strikes at an enemy (#6) with his nunchaku. The handicapped synthetic slips on some debris, tripping and falling to the ground. (He is prone and must use an action, next round to recover)
Silvestri risks a shot into melee, and hits his intended target! (#5; 12pt. dmg)
Ron, likewise, takes two risky shots at the same Scavenger. (#5) His auto blaster grazes the denizen (1pt. dmg), but his rifle shot is true and he hits the creature in the face! (12+1=13pt. dmg)
Frank joins his comrades, and strike twice (#5), killing the insectoid! (13+2=15 pt. dmg)
The lone Scavenger (#6) attacks Belial with its four arms, two of the short swords slash into the mutant baboon! (6+7= DMG 13)
Clicking and chirping echo from the cylinder and entrance tunnel, indicating more enemy approach!
Realizing that he needs more power than a bow and arrow will provide, Kurot grabs his rifle and fires down the hall. Then he falls back to a position behind the chairs (roughly "South" of (Mk) on the map) before opening fire again.
Seeing Kurot's actions, and not having a good shot at the insect by the tube, Silvestri turns his attention to the corridor entrance, ready to shot at anything that emerges.

Combat, Round 3
Bruce recovers from the prone and manages to get a nunchaku swing against the lone Scavenger. (#6, 5pt. dmg) He looks puzzled when stepping through the green goo on the floor, as it appears to move when he steps!
Belial aggressively shakes the explosive slime from his body. (Made Save) It splats on the floor and he thrusts his spear at the insectoid, but it parries the point with one of its blades. (Miss) The mutant baboon notices some pools of slime wiggle and jump onto his feet!
OOC: Make a Reflex save vs. DC 12
Kurot blasts his rifle down the hall three times, striking the lead Scavenger twice! (6+3=9 pt. dmg) The four insects are almost upon the android before he re-positions into the room for a new firing location. As he withdraws, at least two more Scavengers enter the tunnel from the pod area. The insects that approached Kurot imitate the common tongue, and in a broken screech repeat the word 'MOTTER!' several times.
~The lone insectoid from the column door (#6) presses Belial back with a fury of attacks. It is joined by a new adversary that bursts out of the door and hooks right, into Denslow!
Belial is struck three times with the insectoid’s short swords! (7+8+4 = DMG 19) The mutant baboon reels from the stabbing attack of the Scavenger (#6) and is severely wounded! (7 HIT POINTS REMAINING)
Densow blocks most of the insect attack (#7), receiving a slash from one of the blades. (DMG 4) He shakes off the green goo that peppered his trunk when the grenade exploded. (Made Save)
Instinctively, Frank drops his rifle and leaps over the seats to aid his wounded comrade! The veteran draws his long sword and hacks into the Thorax Scavenger! He summons all of his strength and skill in an attempt to kill the insectoid enemy. (Hits twice using 11 Luck points for 17pt. dmg) To his disappointment, the Scavenger, although seriously wounded, remains standing! In his haste, Sgt. Rock stepped into the residual slime on the floor and it ripples onto his boots and up his leg!
OOC: Frank must make a Reflex save vs. DC12
MacMak shifts left to get a clear shot at an insect. He fires at the one (#7) moving around to Denslow, but misses and startles the plantient as the bolt whizzes through his leaves! (Misses the shot at Denslow required by making the 50% chance to hit a friendly)
Denslow strikes back with his svetlegk, slicing into the outer surface of its exoskeleton. (3 pt. dmg) Some of the green slime has coalesced into a worm-like form and jumps onto his roots!
OOC: Make a Reflex save vs. DC 12
’Clicks’ and ’Chirps’ echo through the area as a group of Scavengers approach the room entrance.
OOC: No targets have been exposed for Silvestri and Ron to take shots. Do they wish to continue holding, or take an alternate action for this round?
After that, he will reconsider, drop that foolish shooting, and try another tactic

Silvestri, concerned by the sounds of the approaching insects rushes towards the passage entrance (3 squares, as far as his legs will allow), he focuses his mind and those in the room can hear the air begin to hum with power. A beam shoots from his hands at one of the insects near the back (#4) blossoming into a pulse of intense heat that envelopes all four insects (20' radius), stopping mere inches away from Silvestri.
