I didn't see a roll for the shadow to save against the mockery. I think it would have a disadvantage on the attack if it failed. Just trying to help a gnome out.

What...where? Unsure of its origin, the sorcerer nevertheless seeks to end the creature, uttering the now-familiar words of arcane power that unleash purple bolts of energy into their foe.

Erky, seeing
Kelben struggling against the nearby wall, considers moving to aid the gnome, then remains firmly in place as he watches the rogue raise his bow in a show of strength.
Sky steps further back and positions herself next to Kelben along the far wall. She stares at the shadow and starts whisper a discordant melody at the shadowy figure -- which issues forth a pained, hollow screech of anger and pain!
"What... where?" Klilxuac gasps, and unleashes three purple glowing darts of magical force at the creature, staggering it -- badly.
Despite being presented with many eligible targets, the
Shadow draws its focus on
Hargrem standing just before him. The creature, in an incredibly weakened condition, weakly lunges at the cleric but its efforts are easily fended off.
"Burn, baby, burn," Hargrem says as he retaliates by flicking his shield in the shadow's direction and raining holy flame down upon it.
The hollow screeching sound intensifies, then dies off as the creature fades into a cloud of mist before ultimately dissipating completely.
The group finds themselves still in the room containing Ashardalon’s shrine, with the runes on the floor, and the one door leaving the room.

Sky searches on and around the statue, hoping to not trigger any more shadows.

I'm sorry, did I do that when I cast Light upon the statue?. If so, I fear what may arise if my next attempt is unsuccessful as well. Nevertheless... He pauses, hearing Kelben.
Hold on. The door will still be there in a moment. Right now, I have a puzzle to solve. Sky, please stand back. I would prefer to keep you unsinged if possible. The runes say, "Let the sorcerous power illuminate my spirit." I took this to mean I should cast Light upon it, but it doesn't seem to have had any effect. My next guess, since it is a red dragon, I am going to try fire. The dragonborn steps up next to the statue, launching a bolt of fire at point blank range into the statue when Sky is clear.

"Okay then... excellent work," Sky says, breaking the silence after a tense battle against a dangerous foe.
"Where were we? Ah, yes, examining this statue," she continues, moving over to investigate the marble structure more closely. Even upon closer investigation, the statue appears little more than just that -- a finely chiseled slab of white, veined marble finely crafted into the form of an imposing red dragon -- Ashardalon. The statue is fairly well preserved, but some splintering cracks do reflect its age.
"Ahem," Kelben says impatiently, moving back to the unexplored exit. This distraction is enough to draw
Sky's attention away from the statue, and towards a section of the wall behind it, where the tabaxi believes she spots a stone that seems a bit out of place.
"Hold on," Klilxuac says to
Kelben.
"The door will still be there in a moment. Right now, I have a puzzle to solve..." the sorcerer says, still determined to try and solve some unknown puzzle.
"Let the sorcerous power illuminate my spirit," the dragonborn speaks, repeating the words inscribed in the tile’s inner edge -- and as he completes the phrase,
Klilxuac is engulfed in a puff of spectral flame which erupts from the tile! The flame leaves him feeling absolutely unharmed, and actually leaves the sorcerer feeling inspired and charismatic.

"I didn't even mean to do anything yet... I simply read the runes aloud before I tried another spell. Apparently, I won't need to do that now."
Sky shrugs, then moves to investigate the loose stone she spotted moments earlier. The mortar surrounding this stone appears to show signs of cracking, suggesting it had been moved recently. Sure enough, the stone shifts slightly to the touch, and is able to be pulled out of its placement to reveal a small, concealed area hidden behind it. Two small vials, each containing a light gray oozy material spotted with red flecks, and 34 gold pieces are found in this small, cramped area; which is about all that could fit into the space which is little more than the size of a fist. You recognize the liquid in the vials as being
alchemist’s fire.
After further searches of the statue, and the circular tile, fail to reveal anything new,
Kelben sighs and rolls his eyes, still waiting impatiently by the door, looking to continue on.

Kelben, after not finding any traps in the door, or hearing any noise coming from beyond it, is finally able to open the new door leading from the shrine room.
Peer into the area beyond, the gnome rogue notes that leaning and fallen stone bookshelves fill this chamber, though a clear path connects the current door to a wooden door on the opposite wall.

Kelben is able to perform a quick inspection of the wooden door on the opposite side of the room, and it appears to be safe from traps, and unlocked.
It is also quiet beyond.
