Will Fendt fire into melee?
Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Robert cast farie fire on the second rust monster then takes his club out and defends with his wooden shield. He positions himself so he isn't attacked by both if possible and engages the best target he has. IF he has time to attack after his spell.
Club [1d20] = 4, dmg S/M [1d6] = 3, dmg L [1d3] = 3

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Tib will continue to "distract" the one he already hit.
Tibbius melee atk with staff [1d20] = 15 dmg [1d6] = 5

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Bragar- Will fire his Crossbow at the first monster.
Crossbow Atk
Cross Bow Atk, to hit[1d20] = 12, to dam[1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Agrippo will be seriously enraged, pissed off, nay grief stricken, drain his life energy, cut off an arm, pluck out an eye, cut his bal...beard off, all mere baubles in life...but touch his Hoplon !!! 'with it or on it but never without it', not just a tattoo stuck on his 'little finger' but an anthem burned into his very spartan like soul...eulogy over in a moment of madness Agrippo is going to attack with the spear.
to hit: rolls a 4....
If this goes rusty too he will just jump on the beast and gnash it to pieces with his teeth!!!

Melampus continues his Chant
Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Good news/bad news/good news:
I just looked up the hoplon shield, and it was almost always wood, possibly with a bronze patina. The rust monsters wouldn't be interested in that. So the good news is that, in the interest of historical accuracy (because we're all about historical accuracy in the game about a vampire), Agrippo keeps his trusty magic shield.
The bad news: the monster got his armor instead. But, good news, armor is easier to replace than a +1 shield.
But until he does replace the armor, Agrippo's AC is now 8 with the shield.

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Iluq heads towards the door, ushering Helga on with him, "Everyone, let us retreat behind the door, these creatures do not want our lives. Once we close the door we can move on, we cannot face the horrors of this place without our equipment!"

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
I think I just need Castran's move.
Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Most of the party thinks they're at the "back" (the only character explicitly at the front is Tibbius), but so noted.

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
I was shuffled towards the back of marching order so that is why i am using ranged but i will not take a chance of hitting those in melee and having no offensive spells at the moment does not help.

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Date: Nouluna 6, 1221
Time: 3:32 AM - Combat Round 2
Weather: Light rain
Moon: Waning gibbous
Location: Castle Ravenloft, Servants' entrance
**************************************
The two rust monsters act first. The one that's already in the room chomps loudly on Agrippo's now-rusty armor. Agrippo lunges at it with his spear, but hits only floor.
The other monster rushes up the stairs into the room full of magical metal armor.
Castran, in +1 banded armor, and Bragar, in magical chain, are as far at the other end of the room as they can get without actually climbing into the walls, "guarding" Helga. Agrippo, now armorless, and Iluq, in magical banded mail and a shield, stand at the door, trying to get the rest of the party to leave the room. Helga looks at the monsters and flees outside through the door. Fendt, in +1 chain, stands slightly back from the stairs, trying to find an opening to fire his bow. Tibbius is at the top of the stairs, but carries not even a snack's worth of metal. Robert and Tumbler are similarly uninteresting. Melampus, in shining magical splint mail, looks like he's wearing the closest and tastiest meal.
The rust monster scurries past Tibbius straight to Melampus. Tibbius smacks the creature with his staff as it goes by. It rears up at Melampus and extends two tentacles. They touch the cleric's shining armor, which almost instantly tarnishes and turns to rust. The metal splints separate from their cloth backing and fall to the floor. The rust monster begins hungrily devouring the ruined armor.
Fendt and Bragar, having no clear shots at the monsters, hold their fire. Robert brings a faerie fire about the second rust monster. Tumbler jumps out of the shadows in an attempt to backstab the the rust monster eating Agrippo's armor, but his dagger deflects off of the monster's bony outer shell.
Both monsters now seem to be focused entirely on their meals.

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
"Stand back people!" says the gnome from
The back of the group. "and keep on eye on Helga."
If they move out the way he will move to a place where he can fire off his colour spray to captire both rust monsters within his cone of clashing colours, keeping as much distance as he can between him and the creatures. He will cast his spell upon them.

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Melampus stops chanting and looks at his underthings, shaking off the leather bands that now serve no purpose.
I wouldn't worry about Helga's safety with these things. Unless she's secretly made of tin, she's safe enough. Then he sighs, Just not my night...

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Iluw steps back, getting out of the way in case he is within the color spray shot, not wanting more light and colors shoved into his pupils.
He calls out to the group, "There is not much I can do, these creatures are not of evil intent and my weapons would only serve as the next meal... We should try to leave this place, getting some type of barriers between us and the creatures..."

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Tib sees that attacking these things with his staff is doing nothing. He steps out of the range of the Color Spray, going down the steps a bit if necessary.
