DJ found a medium quality Starport Hotel, the sort that catered to all sorts of businessmen passing through Montsoliel. The clerk accepted the ID and linked your personal account for the room, reminding you that additional services would be added to the basic fee if you chose to enjoy them. DJ just nodded and headed off to find food on his own (the Hotel food was good, but DJ knew places that were better).

It was while relaxing and enjoying some Off-World cuisine with an exotic brew at a hole-in-the-wall off the main thoroughfare, that DJ ran into an unusual situation. An argument between a local Beau Citizen and a group of aliens attempting to avoid him. The “Citizen” [he mentioned that point loudly several times] appeared to be some sort of activist Blogger engaged in a loud rant directed against aliens and non-citizens in general, Government inaction, and these four individuals [An elderly male, an adult female, and adolescent female and a male child] in particular. The elderly male just kept repeating “we seek no trouble, please, leave us in peace. We are on a quest for knowledge.”

The small child appeared terrified by the screaming “citizen” and his accusations that there was no place on Beau for their kind.

Does DJ know the location of the nearest police or security station?

Yes, about 10 min [1 turn] away. You can Comm them, too. [Far Future 911]

Nyota, Guy and Joe are in Building 7 of "The COLONY" meeting with Mark Jensen.
Mark is the "Hacker" that Ellie (the dead lady that built the Starship Computer AI) may have been communicating with ... the information is sketchy and most of it is encrypted.

Here is the last post I made for Nyota ... viewtopic.php?p=753219#p753219

As a hint, I tend to name my posts with WHO is there and WHERE they are.

Montsoliel = DJ

Ville d' Esploir = Chester

Brulantfort Domes = Mick

Colony Bldg 7 = Guy, Nyota & Joe

Starship/Camp = Hol & Tut

I am splitting the topics up into groups to make them easier to follow.

Done.
Now it should be easier to follow and post for day 12.8 ... each GROUP and LOCATION has its own topic.
[Feel free to read the other topics to see what is going on throughout the group.]

Just a notification that Chester's Player seems to have moved on to a D&D game [no hard feelings], but I will take over CHESTER as an NPC until I come up with an exit for the Character.

Yes and no. Nothing serious. About 80% of my Civil Engineering work involves Commercial Site Design for the Auto Industry (new car dealerships). The Tariffs (talk more than the actual Tariffs themselves) have introduced uncertainty about COST and SUPPLY CHAINS into the Auto Sector. Business leaders HATE uncertainty. So all my projects have gone crazy with "should they stop or accelerate forward" and will there be cash-flow issues to impact construction in 6 months?

That means lots of "crisis" meetings as people gather information to make hard decisions. Ironically, the fear of what MIGHT HAPPEN could actually trigger a recession irrespective of what the ultimate impacts are. Especially with National Governments playing "brinkmanship" with supply chains. Now that the Tariffs are a reality, things should settle down. Less speculation and more real data.

It is funny, I have been doing this (commercial site design) for over 30 years. I just wrote a letter to a County that I never even imagined that I would ever have to write. I explained that I could not provide the data on the OWNERSHIP because of the President of the United States. Four Canadian Partners were attempting to purchase a bankrupt property scheduled to build an ALF on it. With all the political chaos, two partners backed out, so the two remaining partners need to form a new Canadian LLC to buy the land. However, the Canadian LLC needs to be approved by the US Bankruptcy court that is negotiating the sale as part of liquidation. So until the Court approves the change, I can't provide the name of the new owner ... all because of a trade war between the US and Canada! So I just asked the county to start a review without the proof of ownership while the courts changed the paperwork. [strange times we live in].

I hear you, Art! I am both an airline pilot and owner of a research engineering company. Experiencing chaos on both ends right now.

My business is certainly reeling from the uncertainties! We are a government contractor in the research engineering realm. Historically, budget cuts hit the Science and Technology realm harder than government operations, and that’s proving true now. I’m afraid some of our government counterparts will be RIF’ed in 6-9 months. Fortunately, we’re in a bi-partisan preferred section of research.

I pray the current chaos is worth it all a year from now. It’s hurting in the short-term. There was chaos last Trump admin over the Chinese currency manipulation and North Korean nuclear weapons negotiations. Despite great fears then, we won very strategic victories. Hoping this is the same.

Likely to get worse before it gets better, though. Hang in there!
