Giddy with excitement over such a devious and intersting discovery Epsilon heads over to where the crack is and starts pulling and prodding at anything around the area that might be loose and a trigger. Loose boards on the wall or floor, a torch hanger, ect.

Gwilt grabs Epsilon handily by the shoulders and pulls him back to the center of the room where the rest of the group is.

"What are you doing?" he hisses quietly. "Can you not tell we're trying to keep such knowledge secret? It could mean the difference between our lives and our deaths! I took you for a wise and learned man. Time to start acting like it!"

I imagine if anyone was watching us they would have noticed when you shown the latern light through the crack and were close enough to ithe crack to check for airflow

he whispers

Most likely they are going to wait until we have had time to bed down for the eveining instead of setting up now with a chance to make enough noise to draw our attention as we are just entering the rooms.

Gwilt shrugs, "Fair enough. I tried to be discrete with the flame test, but it might have given away. They might wait until night, but they could just as likely be listening to see what we know or don't know, in which case they might be there now."

"The rooms are so sparse; I wonder if there is even an activation lever on this side... but we could set a trap, instead of sleeping the night. Not exactly doing wonders for my 'resting' plan..."

I will stand down and you may do as you wish, it just does not seem logocal they would be standing there now where a cough or sneeze or even moving to scratch an itch would give away their position.

the thought of setting an ambush is certainly intrigueing however.

Hummph... so much for subtlety. I think we act as if we are down for the night, with guard outside. Then once light is extinguished, we attempt to pry open the doorway. I imagine we would even see light from the other side if they aren't very bright. We should check for traps, first, I imagine.

I am not sure. But, new question... is there something in the room that could be moved to block that door, (like a dresser or bed) that would sufficiently remove the chance of being surprised if it doesnt completely eliminate entry? This may be a plan if we dont care to go through the door...

I still vote for opening it up and seeing where it leads. The innkeep was very eager for us to have this specific set of rooms to the point of continually lowering the price and giving free food. Am I the only one who wants to knwo why we were so selectively targeted.

I hate having exhausted my prayers, but restng and studying here is out of the question. I agree with those who know how checking for any traps and then we open it and see what adventure awaits.
