Recovering from the near miss of the Warg, Alordan brings his weapon around for another strike at the charging beast.

Long sword attack (Normal; +2 str to hit) [1d20+2] = 3+2 = 5 (THACO=20)

...but clearly still distracted by the advancing goblins...

Long sword (Normal; +3 Str Damage) - damage [1d8+3] = 4+3 = 7

Gwilt decides to leave the goblins to the kid and the knight and turns to face the worg.

He swings at the nearest enemy...

*sigh*. Dice roller isn't loading... Will check it later this evening.

OK, working now...

To Hit, Scimitar [1d20+4] = 8+4 = 12
Damage, Scimitar [1d8+3] = 1+3 = 4

Raising the bow once again for distance, Shannigans fires twice at the goblin. (g6)

shortbow thac0 21 [1d20] = 12 dmg [1d6] = 1
shortbow thac0 21 [1d20] = 14 dmg [1d6] = 6

Sorry, I was snoring during the last couple. Anyway, Ewell will attack the most powerful enemy, which at the moment happens to be the worg, I would guess.

lance to hit (+3 str bonus): [1d20+3] = 1+3 = 4 , lance damage on foot 1d6 (+5 Cav and str bonus): [1d6+5 ] = 3+5 = 8
!#$%^&*()

Secondary tohit roll for crits: [1d20] = 9
double !#$%^%^..... not sure how to roll the 50/50 for lance breakage...

Just do an On The Fly roll at the bottom of the screen, with something like:

Weapon breaks on 51-100 [1d100]

And then cross your toes.

weapon breaks from 51-00: [1d100] = 61

!#$%^&*()

So, unless the worg dies before Ewell's segment, he appears to break his lance. I didnt add the + numbers to the second to-hit, but it still appears too low to hit, unless it is unconcious which would be worse??? oh well.

Round 2

by dmw71
Start of round two:

Code: Select all

            g7
            g5 g6

           [St*] [Ew*]

                            o8 o9*
              [Gw]
                  [K*]
                       [Sh] [Ga] [Al]

                                                          w5
The worg quickly recovers from its previous misstep and Alordan feels a sharp pain in his side as the beast lashes out and successfully catches the ranger in an unprotected area (-7hp) and the gnawing jaws of the worg are enough to prevent Alordan from returning a successful strike of his own. Gwillt rushes to the defense of Alordan but isn't able to land a successful blow. Ewell also comes to assist Alordan in the battle against the worg, but his situation quickly becomes complicated as the worg catches the misguided lance in its mouth as the lance passes, snapping the treasured lance literally in half with its jaws.

---

The trio of goblins manage to each launch another javelin attack before Strom and Kaltar reach them, but their aim is horrible and the advancing pair are able to avoid being struck. Strom looks to capitalize on the opportunity but the goblin target (g5) proves to be just nimble enough to avoid being slashed. Kaltar's intended target (g6) also proves to be too dexterous and is able to avoid the mace sent crashing down in its direction.

saalaria, I went ahead and made the following roll for you: "Kaltar on g6: [1d20] = 11 [1d6+1] = 5+1 = 6"

As an aside, I would encourage all players to include actions and any necessary rolls if there's even a possibility of their character being able to make an action that round. If a roll is necessary but not included, I will make it in order to not hold up action, but the results of my rolls will be final -- for good or for bad.

Garth makes sure to keep the last remaining orc (o9) between himself and the worg, while Shannigans raises his bow once again and fires twice at the goblins. The advancing Kaltar steps into the way of Shannigans' first shot, which narrowly misses, but Shannigans second shot manages to target a goblin (g5), dropping it.

End of round two:

Code: Select all

            g7
                 g6
         [St*] [K*]

                                 [Ga]
                                    o9*

                       [Sh] [Al*]
                                                         [Ew*]
                                                      [Gw]
                                                           w5

***

End of round two.

***

We'll use group initiative (someone please roll). Please feel free to begin posting your third-round actions, indicating intended target and making any necessary rolls.

Clutching his side in pain, Alordan watches the lance snap in two as he attempts to swipe at the Warg with the big nasty sharp teeth and a vicious streak a mile wide....

Long sword attack (Normal; +2 str to hit) [1d20+2] = 2+2 = 4 (THACO=20)

Long sword (Normal; +3 Str Damage) - damage [1d8+3] = 2+3 = 5

ooc: i think i'll stick to the bow from now on....

Ewell is a bit confused as to how THAT just happened. Must have been weakened by all that blood. He forgets he has weaponry on him, and rushes toward the nearby pile of swords left by the bound orcs. He will grab the best looking sword and return toward the worg.

I assume this round will consist of him going to the sword and picking up one. And then, the return trip/attack can happen next round.

Initiative [1d10] = 4

(Think we were missing the initiative roll...)

Gwilt, distracted by the worg snapping the kid's lance in half, slices into air instead of the intended target (which is actually the worg this time)...

To Hit, Scimitar [1d20+4] = 5+4 = 9

My main action post for this round is already typed up; I just need declared actions from Kaltar, Shannigans and Garth so I can work them in.

I'm curious to see how you guys respond in round four.

Personally, Ewell might actually respond with an ATTACK that round...

At least you're down to only a single, heavily wounded worg and two goblins remaining... for now. ;)

... and fully stuffed worg at that from his chewing up the lance. At least I imagine a worg would want to stop attacking people for a round or two if a delicious lance was lying around near his teeth...
