Activation Station II, Cold And Dark
Outmatched In The Basement


It seems that most of the group has figured out to avoid the gaze of this creature, but that doesn't seem to bother the tall fellow in the least.

Maag knows you never get a second chance to run for your life, and sensing they are horribly outmatched, he gladly hops the void, ready to leave while he still can.

Feanol moves away from the being, but not across the void yet.

Yrias and Wake help Daisy across before Yrias follows suite. Wake hands Daisy the grey sphere, despite that obelisk already being activated and searched.

The beautiful creature simply chuckles at the outburst from Daisy after she claims they will be back. "I am counting on just that, feisty one."

The elf kidnapper looks down his perfect looking nose at Princess. "Yes, I will make him an ally that I will instill with amazing power, very soon. But don't go away mad, my dear. As I mentioned, I have room for more, if you would like to stay as well."

Looks towards the dais as the last plays out, not looking directly at their antagonist. She will wit until the Princess has crossed and then she will as well.

The Princess

"I'm not mad, just a bit disappointed." She looks towards the rest of her allies and back to Darklin. "I thought we could negotiate further, but it seems I've run out of leverage."

The Princess sighs and smiles sadly. "I should go. Someone has to make sure they don't get into trouble." Her grin brightens and she nods at him. "I'll be sure to save a seat for you at the beach, if you ever make it up there."

She casts a look at Darklin, then turns to leave intending to jump the void.

The group decides they will leave Darklin behind, just as the imposing figure commands of them, though Wake looks to have an alternate plan in mind.

Everyone leaps or is helped back over the void, ready to depart back to the surface now that the obelisks have both been activated.

Actions?

I am just pausing here to allow something I may have heard in the private threads. If that is no longer a thing, you are all free to leave this area and head back up the stairs.

Now that the rest of the party has passed the leap and only Wake is behind, he will say boldly (and foolishly) "I will trade myself for Darklin. You let him go and I will stay behind."

Maag frowns heavily at the apparent change of plans. Then shrugs, reasoning that as long as he's not the one being asked to remain behind, then everything is good.

He stays well back from the chasm but keeps himself alert in case there's a plan in motion that he hasn't been made aware of.

Again, I apologize for the lack of action here, everyone.

For the sake of game flow, I really don't like these long pauses while we all wait for the same player to post. I didn't care as much when I could just skip them for several updates in a row, but if it's going to consistently take weeks of time in between posts, I feel like I need to do something about it. Since I can only think of one way out of this, that's what I'll go with.

Outmatched In The Basement


The figure stands there waiting for a response from the elf, any response. When it doesn't come, anger crosses his otherwise stunning face.

"I have changed my perfect mind. I will keep the elf after all! If you", he points to Wake, "would like to stay as well, I will allow it. The rest of you are free to leave. Go on now. Back up the stairs with you. I admire the fact that you know and understand when you are outmatched."

He waves the back of his manicured hand at those already across the void, motioning for everyone there to depart before staring down at Wake, awaiting his decision in the matter.

Wake smiles to his friend dressed in gold, "If Darklin is going to stay that sounds fine with me. I will miss you as we continue our quest."

Wake backs up and trot and jumps the gap and moves the rest of the party up the stairs.

He can't but think that something should be possible against the seemingly powerful character.

No worries on my part, OM. One of the reasons I like your games is that you keep them moving along. I wouldn't mind the DM NPCing my PC if I'm causing any delay.

Except if it's to kill him/her, that is :lol:
