Xenos continues to strike at the injured slaves (the one adjacent to Drest being his preferred target, as the scout isn't having much luck hitting anything)

Cyril scans the field and spots Drest laboring. He slides to the left slightly to get a clearer shot and lets lose with another sling bullet.

Valkrina
Leaves the fleeing slaves to return to her group. She will use the rubble for cover and shield herself by the passage that leads to the front door, meleeing anyone who comes within range, ineffectually.

Battle In The Open Courtyard
Ruined Warlords Palace
As the reluctant slaves make their way out through the rubble and away from the bloody carnage, Valkrina moves closer to the fighting, but not close enough to help.
Akhilleus is hit again
3 dam as he strikes down yet another adversary. Snorri also cuts a renegade slave nearly in half with one fell blow of his mighty ax. The fighters peer in through the open doorway but don't see any more combatants headed their way.
Drest flails wildly again, while Xenos rushes to his rescue, slashing the already wounded slave and striking him dead on the sandy ground. Cyril slings another stone, causing the distant blowgunner a second wound.
Instead of attacking again, these 2 fellows suddenly realize their plight. They take off running through the open archway to the north, hoping to flee the dangerous battle with their lives intact.

Drest
"I am growing weaker, the darts are poisoned."
He will see if he can clean the wound out if no one else can.

Xenos
The Ixian moves to the entrance where the slaves exited (effectively one square NW). Using the archway as partial cover he looks to see where they are going.
If he can, he will throw a javalin at one of them (preferably the wounded one)

Valkrina
Having little in the way of medical help to cure the blowdart poison, she will help search those bodies that lie around, taking any useful weapons and setting aside gear, supplies, coins and interesting trove.

Cyril nimbly advances to Drest to look at his wounds.
"The healing allotted to me has been spent for the day. And besides I do not think that cure the poison. We would be better off cleaning those wounds and returning to town if you are unable to push forward. Or perhaps you take up a place at our rear as we continue routing the slaves. I worry that murdering and stealing from a group of escaped slaves may not be the most profitable endeavor we choose."

Drest
"I can take a spot in the back for now if I don't get worse. They attacked us, not the other way around. I was defending myself and could care about looting them."

Snorri will join Xenos at the entranceway, his dripping axe at the ready. "We need to find a more secure spot then his open area," he growls.

Akhilleus
"Drest, try to rest. I hope the posion won't get worse." He joins Snorri and Xenos at the doorway and tries to see what's over there.
If a torch is needed he'll hand one to anyone with a free hand (he has a sword and shield).

Battle In The Open Courtyard
Ruined Warlords Palace
Drest remains badly injured and weak, but he is able to move around and otherwise function normally now that the battle is over. Valkrina loots the dead, and as Cyril suspects, finds nothing of value on these murdered slaves.
Snorri and Xenos rush to the open archway where the final pair escaped, watching as a wooden door on the opposite wall is entered and closed again behind them. This area appears to be an old stable, with three individual stalls for war horses. The floor is now littered with feces, bones, and mud. The walls in here are burnt and there is evidence of human sacrifice. 2 clay urns and a rotted wooden trunk are the only items in the room that remain partially intact.
(see map)
Peering into the open doorway where the slaves came from exposes a now empty stone hallway with a door into the stable room and another hallway and door beyond.
Besides all the dead bodies, the huge open-air courtyard you are currently standing in is strewn with broken columns and pillars, a few remaining intact. The courtyard has faded frescos along the walls and a wide vine choked set of marble stairs to the west that leads up to another room beyond. You can see some skeletal remains entwined within the earthy looking vines, most of their belongings and clothing now hanging in tatters.

Valkrina
Checks around her. Skeletons in creeper vines are always taken as an ominous warning. Better to leave that area til we know the vines are not the danger, or the skeletons.
She looks over her shoulder towards the slave group that cowered in the SE chamber, hoping that any stragglers are also leaving the fortress.
Once she assesses there is no imminent danger, she will go check out the stable quarters, sneaking up to the door those slaves ran through. I don't want to open it but listen beyond, to see if I can hear them running further away or making plans, preparations against us.

Akhilleus
Since there's enough light to see all these details, the fighter well not light a torch. He will take a look at the urns. If they're closed with some sort of lid, he will peer inside by opening them with the tip of his sword.

Cyril trots back to the hallway seemingly leading toward the entrance and gazes down it, making sure they are not missing any details and checking if the door is barricaded in any way.
"It would be useful to have a better way out than scrambling up that slope."

Battle In The Open Courtyard
Ruined Warlords Palace
Valkrina keeps one eye on the slaves scurrying up over the sand wall to escape the bloodshed, Several still need to be pulled up and out of the ruinous rubble. Cyril moves to the entrance hallway, looking across its empty length and seeing an obvious bar across the inside of the main double doors.
Drest rests on one of the fallen pillars with Snorri staying nearby, both alert for any more danger.
Xenos, Akhilleus, and Valkrina rush into the burnt, bloody, shit strewn, stable area where the slave blowgunners just escaped. Val listens at the door, hearing obvious voices and shouting of orders coming from the room beyond. Akhilleus investigates the stinking clay urns, finding both covered in tzetse flies and half filled with maggot covered human feces.
Xenos isn't quite as repulsed when poking around at the rotting wooden trunk. Prying at it a bit with his sword, the uppermost portion of the decayed box seems to fall in on itself, revealing a hidden bottom section in the container that remained in tact through all these years. Poking a little more at this new discovery, the desert warlock notices a rotting and moldy blue velvet bag underneath the decayed container.
