Kainaxarthos

His head on a swivel from all the conversation, Kain manages to tear himself away from the bartender to join in. "As Ceana says, the Mausoleum was shown to us in a vision. We were divining areas of treasure and she was offered it. On our scouting visit, we found tracks in the sand leading into what suggests to be a level under the sand. A brilliant mosaic of a green comet crashing down upon scared villages only furthers the potential for something sinister. A cult, perhaps? Or a gang of bandits? Either way, we felt returning in proper numbers would be prudent."

Kain counts the group in his head. "This is quite a diverse group. So many skills and such varied knowledge. Maybe, and this is just a thought, but since the desert is such an unforgiving place it may be wise to form a collaboration of sorts. You mention healing. Perhaps we work as a larger force, finding adventures and pooling resources. I would be glad to help heal anyone upon their return to town. It's been my experience that only the larger groups flourish out here, small bands of people simply fade into the sands." He looks around at the other patrons of the bar. "Or fall prey to other, more present vices."

He looks at the more grizzled members of the table. "It seems the sea spit you out to find us. I for one know better than to dismiss the signs."

Tuurma shouts from just outside of the door.

"Hey, what are you discussing in there? These fuckers won't let me in." *turns head* "Yes I'm talking about you, are you an idiot?! Calm down?! You calm down! I'm going to take your stupid bath and th....GET YOUR DIRTY FINGERS OFF ME OR YOU LOSE ONE!"

"I heard some of you guys went to dockside bazaars. Can you recommend places to shop? We sold some Ambergris and leviathan skin to get a few silvers together and need some extra gear."

Kain

"Ambergris? Now that's what I'm talking about. We just found a guy who was dying for some ambergris. If we had just gotten together a few hours earlier, I'm sure you could have gotten a better deal."

The shouting from the door draws his attention. "Ah. The fair and bloody Tuurma. Allow me." He stands, nods to the group, and heads to the door to prevent...he's not sure what, really.

"Hello again, Tuurma. We were just discussing some possible collaborations." He puts his hands up toward the rabble and tries to reduce the tension. "Is there a problem here?"

Akhilleus

"Xenos, what you say makes a lot of sense. More money for provisions and bows is a good idea. But that let us, again, in a position that we have to inquire for jobs.

I'm all for collaborating and such but, maybe those who got the vision are the ones meant to explore this mausoleum?"

He says in a lower voice to those initially thinking about going with Xenos: "The more we are, the more people will get a share. I see strength in numbers but, right now, we need to think about how we get enough treasure for our own survival."

I'm looking for an in-character way to say: "12 characters in one quest are way too many "

I'd say that did the trick.

I'm not sure, but it almost feels like we are actually getting further away from group organization now.

Cyril's words bring concern to my face. "I may be able to assist. What ails you? If it is within my skill, I would be happy to treat your wounds."

How about simply:

Kainaxarthos (wishing to clear out the Forgotten Mausoleum)
Maxon
Ceana
Taibhse
Tuurma
Cyril

Xenos (seeks an abandoned fortress of a long forgotten Ixian warlord in the desert to the north east)
Akhilleus
Drest
Cormag
Kang
Valkrina

Drest will go along with whatever. We still lack a healer but it is what it is.

Cyril smiles. "I would welcome any assistance you could offer...but to recover Azathoth's blessings I will still need to rest."

I'm ok with the Mausoleum

Xenos sighs but agrees

"True I suppose. Let us purchase what we need today, get a decent night's sleep and head out at first light."

True. To mitigate that, but also speed things up, in that case I would suggest a 1-to-1 switch with a healer from the one group switch with one other "random" member of the other group.

I am not a fan of forcing anyone to switch groups. I am willing to switch groups but only if a healer type is willing to switch with me. I understand I am slowing down getting to the action so lets just go with it.

Would you be okay with either group?

Could we swap you for one of their fighter types?

Cormag, perhaps?

Would that be agreeable to both of you?

Don't agree if you don't want to.
