I'm not sure how I should take that comment.

It is a good one, your games are always interesting.

Very true- but sometimes "interesting" is the Chinese curse definition of the term- "May you live in interesting times."

Also very true.

Drest
"That too for sure. I am out of my element here for sure."
The next time Rex writes the words "for sure", something bad is going to happen.

LOL, it is definitely one of my bad habits. The funny thing is it isn't an expression I use when talking to people.

That
is weird.
I find myself using sayings we have here in the Midwest, then often wonder if people from elsewhere even know what I am talking about.

Having spent some time in Wisconsin and having family there I have no issue with it and I am sure I slip in some Vermont or French Canadian stuff on occasion too. I am a horrible writer and I come across very different I think than I do in person.

Can you give an example for a confused European?

I am on the border of Canada, Quebec specifically. In Eastern Canada "Eh" is a pretty common catch all term. I have heard it comes from Scottish settlers but have no idea if that is true. I say it now and then, because I am near Quebec or half Scottish I have no idea.

I'm Spanish, make grammatical errors en English and bring expressions from German into Spanish when talking with friends and family. Typical phrase from my parents: "What you just said isn't Spanish."

I asked my wife (who is from Wisconsin) if she wanted to do "A" or "B" and she replied without breaking stride "they're a horse apiece." [translation, which I required: "It doesn't matter."]
Also, we were walking through a mall and she said she needed to find a bubbler. [water fountain everywhere I've ever lived]
And then there's the "yeah, no" which is different from "no, yeah."

The bubbler one made me laugh the first time I heard it.

Horse apiece is a good example.
Fer sure.
Oh, ya.
A ways away.
Er no?
I can’t think of any “Midwest sayings” at the moment, but there are plenty of those out there too.

OM, are weapon prices by the book?
I'm asking as I was going to pre-calculate costs for a short bow, quiver and 20, arrows, or a light crossbow and bolts, etc. Just to speed things along when we know what money we have after buying the other stuff.

Goods and services in Xambaala can be purchased at 1.5 times book price, due to the remoteness of the area. But it is sometimes possible to barter or offer services to reduce costs.

Thanks OM.
That places a short bow at 30gp plus 2g 3s for each quiver of 12 arrows
Light crossbow at 22g 5s plus 2g 3s for each quarrel of 20 bolts.
Gives us a heads-up when working out what to buy. Let's make sure Dest isn't doing any bargaining or the price will go up
