Switching to her rapier, Unari keeps a watchful eye on the lone, trembling goblin, but focuses her efforts on the recovery of the arrows she expended in the skirmish, successfully recovering two of the three.
+2 arrows.
After stowing her bow, Nella takes a more direct route and pulls her arrow shafts from the deceased goblins before examining them and finding one that can be salvaged.
+1 arrow.
She looks up from them at the cowering goblin and flashes a broad smile. "Gaer's natha bwael cwyr," she croons in a tongue no one other than Xanlanan, had he been in the room, understands. "Xun dos kampi'un uns'aa?" the monk continues in the harsh tongue, which continues to draw blank stares from everyone else in the room... including the goblin. "Orn dos tesso uns'aa nin vel'bol udos daewl ulu zhaun bauth nindolen zenpheir?"

A puddle begins to form beneath the cowering goblin as its only response to the eerie interrogation is to wet itself.

The gangly bugbear wanders into the room, showing the surviving goblin a big, toothy grin. "I would suggest answering the lady's questions," Gruuthuk spits menacingly. "Otherwise...I am getting hungry."

"Not understand what she say?" the creature says, quivering in fear. "You tell me!" it pleads to the hulking bugbear... forcing the rogue to reach the realization that he has no clue what his companion said, either.

"What you want know?" the goblin replies hopefully when Nella asks it if it will tell her what she wants to know about these chambers.

"Mirrors!" it chirps. "I show you." It begins to -- cautiously -- slink away from the corner, past where Nella stands, and between Gruuthuk and Unari, if allowed.

Interrogation
The goblin, either playing ignorant or finding themselves truly limited in their comprehension, reacts to the words "we follow" and, pinning its back against the far wall, takes as wide a berth around Gruuthuk as possible.

Mirrors
The goblin, after Gruuthuk and Unari allow it to pass without interference, leads the group to the L-turn to the left. It is startled when it spies Lika and Xanlanan around the bend, where the pair had been keeping watch over the mirrored hallway and the main north/south passage.

He appraises the goblin and shrugs. She waits for a reply to Gruuthuk's question, then asks. "Do you walk down the hallway with the mirrors?"

He continues to keep an eye on the south hallway.

Mirrors
"Have we made a friend?" Xanlanan queries with a raised eyebrow as he spies the rest of the group approaching with their new goblin guide. Lika, too, appraises the goblin and shrugs while keeping an eye down the southern hallway.


The incompetence or ignorance of the goblin captor takes a toll on Baronness Nella. "Who else would like to try?" she sighs, rubbing her temples. "What do you know about the mirrors?" Gruthuuk queries, resuming the interrogation.

The goblin shrugs. "We not go that way," it says, pointing down the mirrored hallway.

Lika issues a follow-up question: "Do you walk down the hallway with the mirrors?"

The urine-soaked goblin looks sheepishly from Gruthuuk -- the menacing bugbear -- to Lika -- the strange bird-creature.


"Me go down hall?" it asks, nervously.

The goblin takes an initial step in the direction of the mirrored hallway, but is still 10-feet from reaching the corner and the hallway itself.

At this point --

  1. If you guys want to allow the goblin to lead down the mirrored hall, no order or roll is needed. I will just ask for confirmation of this, and maybe some instructions on how close a watch you keep on it or any precautions taken.
  2. Otherwise, let's roll for initiative to see who reacts the quickest! :D

Xanlanan eyes the goblin as it seems to enter the area of the mirrors. "If you'd be so kind as to peer into each mirror as you pass, it would be most educational." He watches curiously as the goblin approaches. He keeps an eye on if the reflection appears to be altered in some way, or if there is some other strange aspect to the goblin as it passes down the hall. It doesn't occur to him at all to have a spell prepared should the goblin get the idea of taking of running.

Initiative [1d20+3]=20+3=23

I am intentionally letting others take lead as a player to not monopolize IC as the bossy noble. :)

Nella watches as the others engage the urine-soaked goblin. "If goblins don't go that way, what way do they go?" she asks, as much to the others as to the goblin.

She otherwise moves around the corner to stand by Xanlanan and watches, her body poised for decisive action should this all go sideways.
