Oh, this is all totally OOC for me. Remington doesn't care where you nutcases are going, he firmly intends to hide in the drive spaces to avoid any more head trauma.

I assumed Kor would be rolling a d6 to see which adjacent hex we were jumping to. That's the traditional Oghman way, right?
Wise man once told me, "Never roll unless you have to"

Ye. That seems legit, and I would like you to know that there is no OoC disrespect there. Love your posts.

Do we know where we're going raiding?

Bah, new fangled technology!!!

A spun bottle is the only navigational aid an Oghman needs!

Actually we have little choice as our ship is J1 so we can only reach the poor sods who we always raid.

So we are due to drop Manfred at the starport on Marduk?

No worries! I didn't think there was, and I knew what I was getting into on the IC side when I rolled a slave rather than a proper Oghman.

Manfred will leave at the smuggler/pirate haven asteroid base called Blackrock. It is in the Marduck system, but not on Marduck Prime - that is a GeDeCo ( Imperial ) facility, very well defended and not a welcoming place for Oghma ships..

Thanks Bindoner, knew it had a K in it...

So as a plan, a small shakedown raid before Blackrock?

If all else fails Regina can fly the ship. Ridley's reputation would never recover from the shame of that :D

Like the sound of that :D

I think that's the quite proper "walk before you run" option.

However, it almost seems self defeating to try our new "Hearts and Minds" diplomacy on folk who've just mended the front door from when we last came round for tea.

Option: If there was a "wheeze" whereby we could get elsewhere / to the "new" areas should we try it?

Manfred might then have to "get a cab" to Blackrock but it's not like he'll be stuck for a lift as the entire Oghman raiding fleet is going to Marduk!

I'm equally in favour of respecting tradition by just going to Marduk and having a fight! ;) :D

I was really thinking small. Maybe a side of a planet in that system, that the fleet is not hitting. Really for the "green" raiders. But very happy to follow the raid leaders advice as its your troops. Reckon Manfred would go along, up to a point, with other options.

Ultimately our goal would be to go further and make friends, contacts or profit elsewhere. So what we do in Marduk would stay in Marduk.

Just for reference, what does an Oghman breakfast look like? I defaulted to assuming Eno had basically prepped a spread of donuts/danishes and self heating coffee, but somehow it seems wrong to imagine space vikings eating flaky pastries unless they've just raided a fancy banquet on another planet.

Hallstein and Vigdis do not expect you to make friends on the Prey Worlds, that is just not possible.

The idea is that you train up a bit, build relationships with the Blackrock people if you like, eventually find your way out to worlds Oghma rarely raids, try to find allies there. Oghma offers experienced Raiders ( so you'll need some of them... ), what can you get in exchange. Like Theev, the Pirate world, where Manfred is from( this is a long term project ).

i would imagine less flakey pastry and more like everything left over from last night boiled up in the ale that didn't get drunk ......

Each player should pick a skill or stat to train in

First jump i think ridley will just familiarise himself extensively with the ships controls and nav etc ..... new ship etc ...
