So I checked over some of what our GM (Ghost Master, convenient... heh) had to say about the equipment. Seems our company phones double as a PKE meter now. That's kind of neat, actually. I've seen plenty of cell phones with a card reader attachment, so why not a micro EM scanner? We may actually want a card reader or two so we can bill on scene. We also accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc. Speaking of the company phone, Blue, any thoughts on what platform the GB franchise would issue? Android, Blackberry, iOS?

As I think we only have 1 or 2 pairs of the ecto goggles, and I can't really see us all wearing them on a job anyway. Two of the PCs have "Fire Weapon" (Jason & Roy), so they should probably be assigned to capture duty while the other two (Jacob and Lionel) can use the goggles and function as spotters. Of course once a ghost is sighted, everyone in the area can assist in the capture. Maybe Lionel can be the main trap guy as I suspect his strength and time playing football (yes I know he was a LB... :P) might mean he'd have a better than average throwing arm.

Was the PKE meter an app with a like Square styled plugin, or more like a handheld meter linked to a phone app? Other than that is is like the normal equipment rules? Can carry 3? Or you leaning more to GBI where you have like encumbrances?

You are thinking correctly. It has a PKE feature built in as a standard function just like bluetooth or wifi antenas. It is short range. The PKE meter attatchment boost the signal to a more traditional, longer range reading. But yes, your company phones are moble platforms for several peices of equipment. Treat it like a lightsabre... dont drop it!

I'm heading out of town for a wedding and will be gone Friday to Monday. I will try to check the boards, but feel free to NPC Lionel if he is slowing things down.
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Also a question for Bluehorse and everyone else have we ever busted anything or are we totally green? I know you said GBU was like a Westpoint for cadets, so were we able to assist with busts? Or at least some kind of CALFEX live fire training? I assume it depends if there are any calls while you are enrolled, but maybe they have some class 3s and 4s they can release for trainees. I just wondered as I was working on a reply.

I also assume anyone can choose to have no live fire experience, maybe there was just a PKE flatline during their training or whatever.

Love the PKE!

Also, no worries Scott! I got your back. Weekends are usually slow anyway.

On GBU... Due to the excessive danger of Proton Packs, the EPA has required many many hours of hands on training... in a very safe simulator  So this will be one of the first times you have ever handled a proton pack other than a few times on a practice range in order to get your certification. Damn EPA!!!

So....

I love that you guys are looking at how to equip and divide jobs! Everything I am seeing here makes sense and I like what I am seeing. Good to go in with a plan, but we're RPers and we know that. As a GM I can appreciate that and I will be perfectly honest that I am pretty loose on the idea of Meta Game, but I will call you on it if I think it really is crossing over the line too much. ;) But my personal thought is that if it is too easy for you to meta I am not doing my job correctly.

I would guess that your current question is this: How are you going to get there?

I looked up directions and it looks like it's about 3 blocks so, I'm guessing cardio, cardio, cardio.

I had a slightly different idea for the PKE meter then. I thought it was a plug-in device that connected to the charging/data port.

Definitely Uber. ;) Maybe we can get the driver to wear a Ghostbusters ballcap.

I'm not opposed to an uber, but it is a 5 minute walk so that might actually be faster than waiting for an Uber. Ive never used one so I honestly dont know the response times.
