"Could we attach the litter to a mule so we are able to react with full numbers to any threat ?"
Elerik again scans the treeline for any movement

Nerith assists in building the litter by looking for sufficient sapling trees to cut down to help make the litter.

"Do you think it's safe to continue onward when we have an unconscious companion with us ?"
Elerik earnestly looks around at his new comrades

Nerith replies
"No more an issue than having mules along. We'd have to protect him just as much as the mules."

Elerik
"Sounds fair enough."
He pauses and looks from his new companions to the forest stretching away from them.
"Do we have a destination for this scouting mission?"

Nerith shows Elerik the map he was given and runs his finger along his proposed path.
"This is where I had suggested we run but I think where we are now I'll alter it so we run a but further south to avoid them goblins again."

Elerik
He leans over the map as Nerith points out the proposed route.
"Agreed, we want to avoid areas thick with greenskins. Until that is we can bring back enough men to clear the area once and for all."

Nerith nodding in agreement "Exactly. Getting a road build through here will be paramount but if the goblins discover the road we'll likely see them greenskins again."

Glancing around, Elerik looks concerned.
"What do you say about having an outrider or should I say outwalker while we make our way along the route?"

Nerith "We've kind of already been doing something along those lines. So an additional one doesn't bother me."

My apologies Nerith, if you have been using one already then I apologize for assuming you did not."

The adventurers continue on, the unconscious mage strapped to a mule. They enter the woods, with no trace of the goblins visible. The woods are largely ancient conifers -- firs, cedars and pines -- forming a near continuous canopy overhead, and preventing much undergrowth from forming, making travel relatively easy.
They press on for the rest of the day, encountering no trouble -- or indeed, nothing of interest, just vast swaths of untouched forest -- and finding the best defensive spot they can in the shadow of an enormous fir. The adventurers estimate they are perhaps halfway to Threshold.
