Beya smiles at the frightened cleric and whispers back to Alenson; "Don't worry; I won't let you fall behind."

With that, she continues her searching....

Dexterity Check (15): [1d20] = 9

Felgorian steps forward and hears a creak, and jumps back, just in time to see the rubble collapse. The crashing is loud, but then there is a moment of realization, There is a room UNDER this area, It will require removing the debris, but you can see a old trap door now stuffed with debris, right over where Felgorian was standing just a few moments before. you do not know where this room would lead to. It will take approx 20 minutes to clear the debris.

(As a note on time, you still have 6-7 hours of daylight left.)

I will be away most of the weekend, but Felgorian will continue working in my absence...

Felgorian will start removing the debris, figuring this is the fastest way to get to the below ground, and away from the wolves.

Taken aback by the sudden rubble, Husker stares in shock for a couple of moments. something is amiss here.... he mumbles. Husker will check for traps around the room

Beya; with an adventurous gleam in her eye at the revelation of a hidden room; moves to help with the clearing of the rubble....

Alenson asks , "everyone alright?"and does a silent prayer for the light of day to last long enough for this mission to bear fruit. "Should we go around a different way?"
He bends his arm, from the elbow, upwards while pointing behind himself with thumb.

As the party pulls the rubble, you find a small underground area, perhaps a root cellar. As you continue you pull items, you hear a metal clink, and you see you have uncovered a metal chest. It is easily accessible now in the rubble.

"Gold will not help us save the child. However, having exposed the chest already, no sense not opening it. "

"Let's get on with it then. Is it locked or does it open?" asks Coenbeorht while fiddling with one of his axes.

Felgorian's eyes are wider open than before. He thinks that this could make the searching a bit more enthusiastic, for all of them.

Aye, uh, don't see the lock side yet. Need to pull it up first. Either way, a lock should only delay the celebration a minute or two...

Husker still seems to be cautious; he looks around the rubble and around his flanks just in case, then with a shy voice he slightly mumbles,"well let's see what's in this chest" hustler awaits the opening of the locked apparatus with anticipation and anxiety

it does not appear to be locked, but it would need to be lifted/cleared and then opened.

Let me know when you do so and find out what is inside. :)

Felgorian will attempt to pull the chest up out of the rubble, and then open it while standing behind it.

His wisdom knows no bounds.

(OOC - I need to make a module where there a trap that fires BACKWARDS...evil DM laugh)

you open the chest up, and see....

GOLD, glorious wonderful yellow god. GP galore, a kingly sum of 600 gold pieces.

Felgorian sees the sparkling in the others' eyes, and peers around to see the gold just sitting there, begging for companionship.

Drats, no water vials... He says with a chuckle. Folks, if this was sitting here unguarded, imagine what is awaiting us below. Let us quickly proceed.

How do we go about carrying this? Leave it in the chest and have a heavy carrry it? sort it and each carry their share? Hell, how many PCs are there?

"Leave it for now? As for splitting in shares, I have a proposition for the group. I will accept no share for my part, if the group will each tithe to the Shining One. Surely there must be roughly 600 gold in there. That's 120 gold for all of you. Less a 12 gold tithe, is 108, and slightly higher than the 100 gold a six way split would infuse. The church will accept your 60 gold donations most appreciatively."

How you split your cash is totally up to the party...let me know when the party is ready to move forward :)

While it may not be the smartest or most efficient move, Felgorian will take his share of the gold and place it in one of sacks. If the others agree to the tithing offer, he will do likewise.

I do not know exactly how many active PCs are with us. 4,5, or 6?

Coenbeorht

"Well, let's keep a-goin'. We can split the loot later."

The halfling will lead the party towards the next area.

Husker demands that the half ling return. "oi! Now see here little man, we got ourselves a fine amount of gold right here, perhaps enough to last us until we get to the town of.. That town that we were supposed to get to" husker scratches his head as the name of the town that the group had initially set out for avoids his memory. "anyways, I figure we oughta debate the distribution of these fine Coins, it isn't something that should be taken lightly. How about a vote? Aye for taking the gold and moving on, nay for leaving the gold and moving on, and stay silent if ye wish to perhaps loot the chest and ditch this effort to save the girlie" husker looks around the group, eagerly awaiting answers.
OOC just thought we should agree as a group on what to do before anyone moves on.
