Full and total darkness is not immediately imminent. The limiter here is that y'all have moved your full (standard) movement. If you guys wanted to force march, then yeah, you could definitely examine the structures in the gloaming.

If you guys are planning something different based on this, please let me know quickly. I want to post something before mid-day my time as I'll be busy this afternoon. I'll move ahead with what's currently posted IC provided there's not a majority in favor of changing from the current plan posted by then.

Ah, okay. Let's set up camp here, then, and examine the ruins in the morning.

Okay, that effectively rules out a majority for an updated course of action based on information which I was slow on getting you.

Will update IC now.

His plan is fine. I think we're overthinking this. :D

Will roll out travel this evening when I can knock it all out in one post (provided the PCs don't get attacked by a random encounter).

Just in case anyone is wondering, "Antelope" in Cook/Marsh Expert (refer to page 28 if desired) is a catch-all term for, basically, hooved, horned herd-herbivores. Further rolls determine whether they are small (goats) on up to big and menacing (moose). And yes, one of the possibilities is an actual antelope.

Ever since reading Hatchet I've been pretty sure I didn't want to fight a moose.

Yeah. In either Hatchet or the sequel, he gets his shit kicked in by a moose.

Have you read Hatchet recently? I read both Hatchet and the sequel way back in the day. If you have re-read them recently, I was wondering if they hold up to a re-read.

I haven't, actually. I have been on kind of a reading binge since I started using kindle software on my tablet, but it's mostly things I've never read before.

I remember Gary Paulsen had another book that I thought was cool. It was set somewhere in the Southwest. One chapter would be about this modern-day kid who was a cross country runner, and then the next chapter would be about a Native American kid in the 1800s....chapters would alternate POV. They tied the two storylines together somehow at the end. I forget exactly how. I think it was more like the modern-day kid helped discover the Native American kid's remains, rather than time-travel stuff.

Cadmus the Confused

"Well, she is a witch . . . Let us approach the grove cautiously and see if it is a good place to tie up the horses."

I'm going to wait for a majority for or against this before proceeding.

My posting may be a bit slower than my normal weekend rate. We're supposed to get unseasonably warm weather in Virginia (70s in December!), so I'm going to try to get some stuff down outside.

Okay, Vek has called 1st for entering and MM has called third.

Wyzard? Todd? To keep things moving, the next one of y'all that posts picks 2nd or 4th, and I'll assign the last dude to the unchosen number.

I think I ditched my dagger for encumbrance reasons, but it's still on my horse. Any objections to retrieving it?
Not from me.
