The group outside notices a lack of free-ranging animals while they wait.

Suddenly, Sylvan and Sparrow believe they hear some hints of movement approaching from within the tunnel, and see a flickering light begin to dance off the tunnel walls.

Actions?

Sparrow alerts the others.

Get ready everyone! I think I hear something coming out!

He looks to Sylvan and readies the net.

As soon as our shorties are clear, we will toss this thing onto anything else that exits that rathole.

Fulp will move behind one of the rocks, (relative to the tunnel) so as not to be in immediate charging area of any attacking kobold army. He will have his staff ready to swat.

Sylvan nods at Sparrow, indicating he is ready to drop the net on any non-friendlies.

Ciar slowly emerges from the tunnel, Kass trailing behind.

"Found some kobolds in there. They don't know about us, yet, I think. They're guarding three humans bound in chains and doing menial tasks. Didn't want to fight them there in case they tried to harm the humans. Didn't find any more rats, but then the area still isn't fully explored. There is a very large cavernous area I didn't take Kass back to where you big folks could easily stand. But the kobolds are in a smaller area. Just one way in or out there, from what I could tell."

Sylvan slaps the two little guys on the shoulder. "Nice work, you two. Very brave. Was there any vegetable matter in there? Maybe I could bind 'em all up with a spell and save the humans."

You just set a room ablaze in there and they still don't know we're out here? Sparrow looks confused but is glad to see the pair return safely.

Can you draw us a rough sketch of the layout in there so we can make a thorough plan?

"Sure..."

OOC: Dave, I'm not really able to do anything about a rough sketch right now per limited access. Can you accommodate?

"There!" Ciar says with satisfaction, admiring his own drawing skills as he finishes drawing a map in the dirt with the tip of his sword.

"The larger cavern is accessible by taking that tunnel on the Far East that goes straight south. There is another tunnel that goes to it at the intersection just southwest of all this."

Fulp inquires,
So how tall you think the ceilings are from here to the hostages? Will we be of any use, or pure hindrance going in there with you?

"Normally I'd be sayin' they's only Kobolds..vermin. But recently I seem to 'ave lost me touch wiv me trusty axe."

He pats the haft of his axe. Then looks at the map and frowns

"So is this the way in is it?

Grim points to the funnel on the leftside.
just to be clear the height of all areas on the map is too short for a human?

Also Ciar has explored southeast and seen no more evidence of activity?

And where did the rats come from?

Sparrow kisses his teeth at the short, narrow tunnels but he waits to hear if the scouts have a good plan of attack before commenting.

There are four kobolds and three prisoners, spread out around the chamber. Perhaps if Grim comes with is and fires some shots at one and leads some away we could take out those left and free the prisoners. We should perhaps have caused a commotion and led some out already, but I don't move so fast at all carrying all this gear as it is." says the gnome with a shrug.

"How about we rush in and take 'em one on one?" suggests Sylvan. "I'll take one of those little dog men."

"you would have to go in on your knees or crawl. How good is your crawling charge?" giggles the wizard

Sparrow

Well, we gotta do something! I feel pretty useless standing out here with my thumb up my butt. We could crawl in behind you and regroup in the larger area after the kobolds are dealt with and the prisoners are freed. They might even be able to tell us a little something about what is going on in the rest of the complex.

The bird will follow the shorties inside if that plan is agreed upon.

Kassal makes to return to the kobold chamber, holding the everbright lantern high to show the others the way. He will wait for Ciar to lead if he is on board.

Fulp hesitantly falls in line in the rear, wondering how he will get out of this alive.

"It's not so short you'd have to crawl, but you'd likely be at some slight disadvantage when fighting."Ciar replies."Maybe luring them away from the prisoners might work?"
