Sorry. Forgot company holiday party is tonight, so there probably won't be an update today.

I'll move the game again sometime this weekend.

Ha! It was fine, as company parties go.

The missus and I get to go out so infrequently, we kind of need to take advantage of situations like this, but I would have almost rather just went home and kept binge watching Scandal. ;)

Are such things as:

They would not be considered "common" per se, but more uncommon than rare.

Just didn't want Sorsha to be like "oh look, its a Velociraptorinae, more commonly known as velociraptor. They are fond of halfling flesh." :D

Hahahaha!

Feel free to make your check. I'm not sure that level of specifics will be known, but you never know. ;)

Hahaha!

It is kind of true, though. The majority of experience points, at least pre-d20, really do seem to come from treasures discovered. I do try to award role-playing bonuses, and the occasional "storyline" award (e.g. rescuing Nighttail and Huk), but progress is kind of slow. Maybe something to look into?

---

Speaking of experience points, I have been experimenting with embedding a Google Doc spreadsheet into forum posts, and basically have it figured out, so your individual 'experience points' threads will be changing very soon. I love spreadsheets, and do so much with them, that it makes sense that I use them for tasks like this. For one, it will eliminate any mathematical errors (I actually caught one during my testing), and will simplify the whole process for me since I can build the spreadsheet in a way where calculations (e.g. bonuses, experience points to next level, etc...) will be performed automatically.

I'm hoping to be able to implement this new method later tonight. I am doing it now.

Please feel free to share any feedback you might have, including any criticisms, enhancement requests, etc.... Assuming this works out, which I fully expect it to, tracking experience points might just be the first step. Off the top of my head, the next logical step would be to build a spreadsheet to track hit points. I'm sure there are other applications as well.

I used Google Docs for the character sheets in my BRP game and it sucked...hard.
My players complained of pop up errors whenever they visited the thread, couldn't access sheets, ect. I don't know if its a mobile problem or different browser incompatibility but I started getting the same errors after a bit and then sometimes the sheets would just vanish .
Removed. Good luck.

So far, so good (for me). I've tested it using Google Chrome on a PC and my Android. Of course, the fact I'm using Google's browser may have something to do with it.

If anyone has any problems, definitely let me know (and, if you don't mind, what operating system and browser you're using).

I hope this works, but I'm not going to force it. At the very least, I'll keep using the spreadsheet on my end and will just copy and paste from it.

We use Google Docs extensively in a game on another forum and haven't seen any of these issues.

It's where we keep all of the character sheets and really the hardest part is getting people to go to GD to update their sheet when they need to.

Happy holidays, everyone!

I plan to make at least one update this weekend (either today or tomorrow), and will probably resume at a 'mostly' daily pace next week, until after New Years weekend. For the most part, I should be able to post, or at least check-in, every day, and will move the action along as I'm able.

The game should resume to normal on Monday, January 4, 2016.
