Thurgan, dwarf
"Does that make you wonder if there is less danger here" Thurgan says gesturing towards the deer. "But I still think we should be cautious in entering".

Tev Meren, Fighter
As they settle for the evening, for a bout of fun, Tev challenges the Ostlanders to a friendly arm-wrestling match and makes inquiries into their people. He's similarly intrigued by the Ethengarian woman, and inquires of her about her Khan and her people. A lifelong traveler, he's genuinely interested in other cultures, though he also has a professional interest in understanding new peoples, should he ever need to track one of them.
In addition to the other news they bring, Tev talks with the Darokin merchants about news from Selenica, his home base, and speaks with them in Daro about politics back home. It's a joy to be able to speak and hear his native tongue again, even if only intermittently so as not to be to overly rude at the night's fire.
When it's time to depart in the morning, Tev embraces his kinsmen, happy for the connection back to home, and trades some friendly insults with the Ostlanders before wishing all of the merchants a safe and profitable journey.
Refreshed by the evening's socialization, the short thunderstorm does nothing to dampen his mood, and the sighting of the winged horses presents a moment of wonderment. He looks to the leadership of Rhys and Severi once they arrive at the Forgotten City, as the ones most experienced with this settlement.

Severi instructs Bruno to see if he can take one of the deer with his crossbow.

Quint Kacie
Ever inquisitive, Quint makes the most of the evening, learning what he can from the Ostlanders and Ethangarian emmisary. After the enjoyable evening, a pleasant diversion from the usual nights on the road, he is up early the next morning studying, then ready to move ion with the others.
He continues to use the time to continue building a bond with the hawk, and letting it come and go as it pleases - hunting or simply flying high above, following the party.
Upon arrival at the Forgotten City, he takes some relief in seeing the grazing deer, apparently at peace and unmolested in the ruins.
"I'll take it as a good sign, Thurgan, but agree that our caution is still very much warranted in our own approach."

"Fine." Severi dismounts, leaves his backpack with Pepper, and goes along.

The Forgotten City
2:00 pm
The three adventurers crawl forward through the tall grass and rubble surrounding the city. The shells of old buildings loom above them like rotten teeth, but nothing living stirs besides the deer and a few birds circling far overhead. As soon as Bruno gets within range he sights in on a large doe, waits a moment, then fires. The deer drops; in a heartbeat the rest of the heart scatters. "C'mon," Bruno says, "let's grab the deer and get out of here. This place gives me the creeps."

Sir Rhys the Traveling Knight
"Good shot," he whispers as the doe drops to the ground.
He helps Bruno cart the deer back to the others.

On their return, Severi indicates that he saw nothing awry. He advises the group make camp perhaps a mile distant from the city, which is more than close enough to march up on it in the morning, while still minimizing the risk that their camp will be spotted.

Felomont 2
or 3
The middle of the night
Stars wheel above the adventurer's campsite, and a low fire of dried branches and grass smolders down to coals. Thurgan is the lone watchdwarf; halfway through his shift he hears a rustle of grasses as something -- something extremely large, by the sound, moves outside the range of his infravision. With normal sight, he is just able to make out a large bulk moving some hundred yards away, snuffling at the base of the hill upon which the adventurers have made their camp.

Thurgan, dwarf
Thurgan tries to quietly rouse Tev and Rhys wanting to let the spellcasters get their rest still.
"Something is moving out there, still too far for me to see it, but let us get ready in case it comes".

Once Rhys is awakened, he dons his goggles and readies his longbow. If whatever is making the noise hasn't come any closer, he will try to sneak closer for a better look.

As the warriors shake off sleep, the form lumbers closer up the hill, 'til it finally comes close enough to be recognized. It proves to be a large, brown bear, easily as large as a warhorse, and snuffles curiously at the ground as it comes closer.
