I see that Round 2 is posted. I wanted to know if you ruled for Zirus to stay or run. I also did not see actions of the other players mentioned in the Round 2 post. (You know, we post what we are trying to do, but you will let us know if we succeed or not).

Buckley, glad you are back with us!
You will find out when I post my Summary for Round 2. Your post was perfectly acceptable. I will post the Round 2 Summary when actions are posted for each character.

PS: I just realized I had Round 2 in the creature post, I removed it. That was probably confusing. Sorry

I understand. Thanks for the explanation, Antman. I thought your recent post WAS the summary. It makes sense to let the adversaries post just like the players get to post - and then summarize after. Thanks for the explanation! Maybe we will see a post from the Skunk Paladin, too!

Don't give it a second thought. That's why I set the posting rate at once a day. I have a very busy schedule myself. I typically have to squeeze in posts myself.

Welcome.

Skunk Paladin. I like it. heehee

The stranger is Grognork Kettleforge and he made his first post. He's quite the character. Something I had a little fun with. Definitely not a serious character. I enjoy playing him through.

A quick post about the Dice Roller (For anyone unfamiliar with it)

1) Log into the Dice Roller http://www.unseenservant.com/default.asp?do=home
2) Click the Characters link at the top of the page: "http://www.unseenservant.com/default.asp?do=pcs"
3) Click the the link in the "Macros" column
4) Click the "Create a new macro for this character" link
5) Paste one of the following formats into the "Macro text" field
6) Reformat it to match your character. You can add any attribute pluses or minuses here as well within the brackets [ ].
7) Give it a name/description in the "Description" field
8) Click "Aye!"
9) your new macro will show up under that character on the "Roll the Dice" page
10) Poke the gold D20 to the left of your new macro to make the roll.
11) copy and paste the first link under the new roll to your new post.

You're all done. You can string all kinds of stuff together in the macros.

Combat Roll:
Initiative [1d10], Shortsword [1d20+2], Damage [1d6]

Grapple Check:
Initiative [1d10], Grapple [3d6+(DEX & STR)] the (DEX & STR) should be replaced with your actual DEX/STR modifiers combined

Opposed Check:
Initiative [1d10], Opposed STR-DC [3d6+x] (x) represents your appropriate attribute modifier

Save vs Check:
Save vs Poison CON-DC [3d6+x] (x) represents your appropriate attribute modifier

Whew! that was a long round.

Does anybody have any questions so far?

Don't forget you can do crazy stuff if you like. I use DC checks to judge the outcome of any special actions you may want to perform. There are no restrictions. If you think you can do it, by all means go for it!

I do have a question about my character. His strength has a modifier of -2, does that apply to damage also? If so his knife does 0 on a roll of two haha  Not quite as bad as the Necromancer I once ran... His constitution was so low that the most Hit Points he could gain per level was two... and that's if I happened to roll a solid 4.

Heehee, that sucks. But yes it does apply, though damage and attacks will always be a 1, minimum, regardless of any modifiers. And a modified 1 is not considered a critical failure.

Always is. I started last week. Working 24 hrs a week and taking 16 credit hours sucks!

No worries man. I'm not expecting a high posting rate, GreyWolfVT and MonkeyWrench get a little excited and post like madmen sometimes. Can't blame them I guess. Good luck with college.

It's all good dude. I just don't want to get too far ahead of those who can't post as often. I chose the posting rate based on the fact that some days (changes every week for me) I may only be able to post once a day.

That being said, if anyone feels we are going to fast, or too slow, please speak up and we can discuss a posting rate that will meet everyone's needs. I want this to be fun, not stressful. Also I'm always open to criticism and comments, of any nature, on my GM'ing or the path the campaign/adventure is taking. By all means, shout out anytime you like. If there is an element you would like to see added in let me know and I will try to accommodate.

Here is the first draft of my world description (still working on it so be gentle):)

The World:
The world I am creating is huge, big, massive. Every aspect of D&D will be there, however, you will be starting out in a land that has been forgotten and fallen to ruin. Some parts have been desecrated and turned to deserts, others overgrown by nature. That being said, I would not expect to find very much racism or civil strife in my world, on the occasion that you do it won't be severe. Most of the inhabitants are from other parts. It is an area with no one specific race or clan. It is a melting pot, and the rest of the world will be the same to a certain degree. The tyrannies of man and gods waged a worldwide war, devastating the planet, toppling the old powers, and nearly killing everyone off in the process. The world is now in a state of recovery. Wild creatures have taken over many areas and now the peasants want their lands back. The powers that survived the war have not yet recovered and have very few resources to do so. They are the minority and shall remain so for some time.

I want to create an atmosphere where a group of characters band together to do some adventuring. These characters may not always be exceptional but they have heart and desire. Some of those characters may want to make the world a better place, some may just want to adventure. But they will stick together to fight the forces bent on tearing down the civilized world, or whatever is left of it. You will find more creatures here than evil men. I'm looking to get away from the real world and have some fun. Not engross myself in some drama-laden soap opera. Hopefully that doesn't turn you off. We're gonna have some fun and you will probably see some crazy things you've never encountered in your role playing before. I have a unique view on this particular subject and not everyone likes it.

One of the big changes I've made in my rule set is I've taken out the alignment aspect. People tend to grab hold of an alignment and try to play true to it. But I would rather they stay true to a personality. Some personalities may lean one way or another. Others might bobble back and forth, crossing lines from time to time. I want the characters to have depth and spirit more than anything else. Every race in the real world, regardless of their typical personalities, have individuals that aren't typical, they stand out as different/other, these are the characters I'm looking for. The exception not the rule. Have fun with your characters, that's all I'm saying.
