that looks right. I think the point was to have a defensible position in the dining room and easily able to fall back to the living room

"No better time than the present." Osric states, motioning for them to open the door.

Which door? The one in the ceiling? Didn't Scy listen at the door in the back of the kitchen and hear scraping sounds?? I think we should check that out, first.

I think we were going to pop the door in the ceiling so we maintain a defensible position. Going through the kitchen and having something come down through the ceiling and possibly Jonus turning on us could have the group split and flanked on multiple sides.

Scythius twiddles his thumbs while day dreaming about Tub pulling the rope to open the ceiling door.

I am going to assume that the attic dor in the ceiling is being pulled down.

Tub pulls on his rope and with a creak the door in the cieling pulls down. It is spring loaded and as it pulls down fully it locks into place. You can see a folded ladder attached to the door.

"Great." Osric says flatly. "Any volunteers?" He asks quietly.

Cilian continues to keep an eye on the door in the back of the dining room from the other doorway.

Tubeedee nods in agreement, but watches from below in case something pulls Scyth up, or bites his head off or anything.

scy climbs the ladder and stops with his head just above the entryway peariin around.

A little light shines up form below as you peer into inky darkness. from the flickering shadow of the lantern below you cna make out shapes of what you cna only imadine are trunks and perhaps shelves.

As you strain your neck to look behind you a whisp of movement, the slightest disturbence within the shadows catches your eye. Then from behind a unidentified morphous shape comes charging at you a horrid creature with pale torn skin and wicked teeth, it's pointed black toungue whipping back and forth.

Get back down Scy, get back down! Tub yells as he hears and feels the commotion, guys I think we need help.

I doubt Tub can get a clear shot, but I'll look for opportunities to throw daggers, or slam the panel back up to the ceiling when Scy is clear, and if the creature starts to come down. Hopefully smashing and hurting it a bit.

Hearing Tub's commands to Scy, Cilian looks towards the bedroom in alarm! "What's going on in there, Sol?" he hisses, still trying to keep an eye on the other door in the kitchen.

Thinking its not the best idea to have his head in the ceiling, Scythius drops back down to the floor stabbing wildly through the door with his spear.

assuming it is possible to connect with the creature:
Spear to hit: [1d20+1] = 17+1 = 18, Damage: [1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3

When Tub yells out for Scythius to get out of there, Viktor chances a look over to see what's what. He hopes that Sergius still has his eyes on Jonus as well, lest the fidgety, nervous man try something desperate!

"What is it? What's up there, Scy?" the young churl-deputy queries in concern.

Serg's initiative:

[1d6] = 1

While the commotion started Sergius kept an eye on Jonus' and, noticing the odd reaction by the stranger Serg immediatelly raises his spear.

If Jonus starts making any hostile action or sudden move Sergius will strike him.

Spear - To hit: [1d20+1] = 9+1 = 10, Damage (s/m): [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4, Damage (L): [1d8+1] = 1+1 = 2

or at least will try to

Jonus gives a twisted smile and raises the marble he is holding as serg lunges at him with his spear but the man nimbly dodges it and lets the marble fly.

[1d20+1] = 12+1 = 13

he lets out a growl as the marble splatters against sergs shield and reachign behind his back pulls out a wicked black dagger.
