Pallas stayed hidden up in the rafters and kept watch, as Edel's awareness returned to his own body.

"My magic is all but spent" - he said, settling quietly into a cross-legged seat in the corner - "We are surrounded on all sides, though it seems for some reason they reluctant to come at us through this decrepit garden" - the elf added - "But they have guards posted all around, up in the walls. And they know we are here"

Pondering for a moment, he continued - "We need to recover as much as we can - I carried two healing potions with me, but they are spent. If any of you have any healing capabilities, they should be used now to help the most wounded" - another pause - "Depending on what reinforcements they can muster, we might be able to spend some time holed up in here, and recover some of our strength. Even if they decide to come at us during the night, this does not seem to be the worst possible defensive position - two choke points they hopefully can’t easily flood, and Pallas watching from above"

"But eventually they’ll alert their superiors - if they count magic users or others commanding divine powers among them, they might just decide to come here and flush us out. Even if I am convinced we have at least killed some of them so far, including those two ogres"

He looked around, his expression grim - "I guess that is all I have to offer - heal up as much as possible, hole up in here, keep watches, hope they do not come force us out until we had a chance to rest. If we survive, then we need to decide which direction we want to push in, and how. Check your pockets and trinkets - if you carry magic, we should use it. No point in taking it with us to our graves."

"We have killed 2 of the ogres, the orcs will have to work up their nerve to attack directly through narrow hold points, they know they are going to die in great numbers if they come that way so will have to be forced. It is the individuals doing the forcing we must be prepared to deal with if they come."
