Hearing the commotion up ahead, Durrant presses up against a wall to allow anyone behind him that wishes to move quickly toward combat to do so more easily. He is willing to carry a lantern or possibly a torch, though he possesses neither of those himself.

Re: Sneaking into the Ruined Temple
Mortar dumps out the chunks and stores the pretty pot away for future appraisal.
He whispers from his invisible position against the wall. "I don't think Petrification works quite like that."
He inspects one of the hard turds all the same, suddenly wondering if they really have been turned to stone.
He whispers to Jacupo next. "Does that wondrous eye of yours detect anything the rest of us can't see in here?"

Sneaking in the Temple Ruin
It seems the Ruin's paranoia that caused Durrant to look back over his shoulder and query whether the group are being watched has infected Goran also, who goes one step further to reflect his fear by initiating rear-view perception, holding his mirror aloft and checking behind him. The chamberpot turds are not the only 'petrified ones' in the derelict chamber and the thief shrinks back into the corner rubble as the discovered graffiti describes an unrealised threat. But there are no figures or creatures named Basil lurking in the dark or anywhere else. Jacupo's augmented sight perceives no additional dangers.
Those checking the chamber's stoutly bricked wall conclude there are no concealed portals built into its section; there is only one door into this room and whoever comes and goes does so via the entrance corridor.
The sudden cry of alarm that is carried along caused Brick to run to the other corridor end but he arrives to find his sword and strength not needed. Faith has arisen within the clerics and the strong words from Vennar are sufficient to rebuke the undead provoked by Fawkes' noisy intrusion into the corridor of bones.
The ghastly figure aroused to chase after him had a solemn and dread familiarity, having a stocky, broad shouldered build and a strength to rival that of Brick. The grim fate of Iconic hero 'Ogre' has been discovered.
+100xp to the group total.
In an ill twist of destiny 'Ogre' has become enslaved by undeath, risen again after being gored open and disemboweled by the ravenous ghouls. In death as in life, a leader of men; now championing the cause of ghoulish behaviour with the motley crew of dire resurrected corpses that dwell within the Ruin's dereliction.
Fawkes can creep back to the second splintered door through which the ghastly Ogre fled. Peering through you can make out a room beyond, bereft of any furnishings, having been burnt and ruined beyond any hint of recognition. There is another splintered door set to the corner of the north wall across from you. The ceiling has collapsed for the most part, revealing another chamber above on the second floor. About 5’ft of this ceiling still remains around the walls of the room, forming a narrow jagged ledge. The ghoul champion, Ogre now lurks up there, scrambling to remove the layer of thatch and tiles that provide a covering from the outside, bullying others to move aside as some divine fear grips his tormented soul. Below him are several ghouls, lesser mortals voraciously feeding an unquenchable hunger, busy tearing apart their unfortunate goblin victim. They toy with his corpse, grabbing a leg or arm and claw at cartilage and tendons, ripping them into frayed shreds until with a sickening "thwack", a meaty bone of green meat is torn from the pelvis and torso. The cleric can whisper a last rite and signal to others who file up behind him in the corridor of bones.
The ghoul pack are still formidable opponents but you have a slight advantage in numbers, in clerical support and now having turned the most superior undead figure. The corridor is narrow though and only half of you at most could assault the Ghoul lair at one time, so discuss strategy and decide on any actions.
next actions everyone please

Re: Sneaking into the Ruined Temple
Mortar remains unseen near the back of the group, thinking about the people they were supposed to find in here.
"If that Ogre fellow was such a great fighter, but still fell to these monsters, I fear we may find the others in similar ghastly conditions, if you'll pardon my pun."
Did we have a list of these missing people or are you sprinkling that info in as we progress?

Fawkes
Not wanting to risk failing at Turning Undead a third time, he will prep his flail like Macuahuitl and once the door is barged open, charge one of the Ghouls that eats the goblin's limbs.Fawkes: Macuahuitl melee [1d20+1]=16+1=17 [2d4+1]=5+1=6

Re: Sneaking into the Ruined Temple
Goran, Halfling Archer
Goran hustles over to aid his comrades at the ghoul-door, stashing his mirror as he goes.
"Brick - if you're about - once you get that door down, stay to the left and I'll shoot to the right."
Goran readies his short bow and arrows and takes a position so others can get through the door and then he can step in to loose his arrows.

Brick
"I will open the door, everyone get ready."
Once everyone is in place he will attempt to open the door.
Open Doors (4/1:6) [1d6]=3
Good enough to open a locked or stuck door but not a barred or magically held door.

to be fair, the Ghast opened it to chase after Fawkes and went back through it after being turned. So go ahead Brick and add an attack roll to your actions.Good enough to open a locked or stuck door but not a barred or magically held door.

Re: Sneaking into the Ruined Temple
Goran roll those attacks. You could focus on the fleeing Ghast 'Ogre' in the upper room ruin or those ghouls tearing goblin and badger carcasses apart.Goran readies his short bow and arrows and takes a position so others can get through the door and then he can step in to loose his arrows.

Re: Sneaking into the Ruined Temple
Sneaking in the Temple Ruin
Sensing that the group have a small window of advantage, the characters line up behind invisible Brick to push forward into the Ghouls lair and drive them away from this section of the Temple Ruin. Mayhap they will cause havoc and terror amongst the Orc guards and allow you to sneak about while confusion reigns, on the other hand, the cries and groans of combat may actually draw unwanted attention to yourselves.
Cue some dice rolls ...
Brick busts open the splintered door, shattering it off hinges and cleaves apart the nearest Ghoul, -13hp with a single stroke of his sword. The ghoul and no one else, bar Jacupo saw it coming, the undead dwarf just splits apart with head, shoulders and ribcage being hacked mercilessly.
Behind him, Fawkes strikes a second Ghoul, -6hp, staggering him backwards and tearing one arm clean off from the shoulder with the same sickening "thwack" as that of the goblin's torn limbs. Goran looses a volley of arrows away from any melee lest he endangers Brick. Aiming for the fleeing ghast, he wings the undead Icon, -3hp, but the minor irritation does not slow him down.
Vennar & Galadria enter, each taking one side of the busted door, uttering rebukes and divine commands to drive the Ghouls from their lair. Between them, the holy words cause fear of godly retribution and the Ghouls immediately withdraw, seeking the sanctuary of the city graveyard and hurriedly follow in the wake of the already terrified 'Ogre' who flees through the upper thatch and rafters, cutting his way out with a glowing Longsword in his hand.
Ghast 'Ogre': damage results in dropping weapon vs 25% [1d100]=89 no.
Galadria: Turn Undead vs ghouls [1d20]=11 [1d12]=11 [3d4]=7 (vs 10+)
Ghoul: Claw: [1d20]=4 [1d3]=1
One-arm ghoulie cannot scramble up and over the charred furnishings, instead he flees through the northern door, leaving a trail of black rotten blood that spurts from his shoulder stump.
By divine grace and carnal power, the group have driven the undead pack away. No doubt they will return soon unless they find a safer haven elsewhere. Those in the corridor of bones can enter the charred room and survey the bloody and grisly scene. Goblin, Badger, Ghoul; hacked apart like abattoir cast-offs. Above the ground floor are the remnant ledges that must provide more unliving quarters for the pack.
The northern door leads to another narrow corridor that leads west then north along the side of the exterior wall. It ends in a short staircase that ascends a level to an open archway that is splattered with bloody marks from the fleeing Ghoul. you can chase after him if desired.

Fawkes
"Tis but a flesh wound!" he announces. Eager to pursue the injured ghoul, I will chase him to those stairs. I will wait at the next room entrance just in case I run headlong into trouble.
If I do catch up with him, out of spite, I will aim for his other arm.
Fawkes: Macuahuitl melee [1d20+1]=19+1=20 [2d4+1]=6+1=7

Mortar waits his turn before entering behind the combatants, eager to see what lies beyond this derelict area.
Speaking softly so the others know he is still around, he follows towards the stairs and beyond, hoiping to get a look at the next area they will need to traverse, being unseen to any possible onlookers.
"Nice work back there gang. Always good to have a few proper sword arms along. It appears that Ogre brute's sword is glowing. I think we all know what that might mean, eh?"

Goran, Halfling, Aspiring Filcher
Goran climbs up to the ledge and searches it for anything of interest.
Having a hard time at first he tries again.
Scowling, he says "Bah, someone give me a boost!"
While searching he looks to determine where the ghouls usually enter and exit, hoping to set a trap at that location.
