The small Temple to Saint Terragnis is across the road from the much larger one to Ord about half way down Temple Road with the Market at the west end and the Docks District at the east end of Temple Road. The Shield and Trident is directly east of where Temple Road ends.

The little group heads down Temple Road and turns left into the Temple for Saint Terragnis. This stone building is square and squat rising only a single story with a main building in the center and a smaller square wing to either side. There is only a single step up to a protoco across the front of the central building with open double doors leading into the interior of the building.

OOC: First the Temple and then...eventually, you might want to do a bit of Carousing after your Minor Adventure....for XP. Vesper enters like she knows what she's doing and looks for an attendant.

"We are here in veneration of the Saint and humbly seeking a cure for disease. My comrade has an infected rat bite".

Vesper is definitely up for a proper party and will put up 10GP on her own if others can make up the other 20GP.

As Gaurbal enters he will nod his head respectfully in the direction of the altar. He will wait to see what response Vesper gets.

Vesper enters like she knows what she's doing and looks for an attendant.

A young man with a shaved head wearing a blue robe that covers him from neck to feet is standing with his arms crossed just inside the doors. He opens his deep blue eyes and looks directly at Vesper as she speaks.

"We are here in veneration of the Saint and humbly seeking a cure for disease. My comrade has an infected rat bite".

As Gaurbal enters he will nod his head respectfully in the direction of the altar. He will wait to see what response Vesper gets.

"Blessed be all who follow the Saint.", he says with a smile.

Looking around, you see this is an open room with several stone columns that rise up in a circle around a center dais with an alter atop it. Resting atop the alter is a small golden statue of a figure dressed in robes standing with his arms out toward the door and his head raised looking up toward the ceiling.

The floor is a dark grey flagstone and the walls are a lighter shade of gray. There are chiseled engravings in the stones of the walls...runes by their look, but meaning unknown to you.

The ceiling isn't vaulted, but flat and only about 15 feet high, painted in muted colors and progressing around the circle of columns are what look like scenes of a man in battles progressing through peaceful scenes toward an eventual elevation of that man toward the heavens.

Directly above the alter is a five pointed star painted in gold...or perhaps it is gold leaf, or even gold itself. The statue's face is looking up at this star.

To the back of the room and to the left and right are open double doors leading to other parts of the Temple. Men and women dressed in robes stand next to each of the interior doors.

Scattered around the room kneeling on rugs you can see several people, some dressed like the young man who greeted you, some in normal clothing of the city, but also a couple in leather armor with swords at their belt and shields over their back. They are either silent or quietly chanting quietly to low for you to understand while kneeling toward the statue in the center of the room.

Looking around at the members of the group the young man bows slightly and says, "Those who wish to Venerate the Saint may do so here, prayer rugs are available there." He points to a stack of throw rugs stacked against the wall next to the door.

He continues, "Those who seek 'The Succor of our Lord' may follow me." turning he leads those of you who follow to the double doors to the left and down a corridor to a room with several chairs. There are two people, a man and a woman, seated here.

"Abide here a while." he says, "A Latros of the Temple will attend you, in turn." and then with a bow he turns and leaves you here.

The woman ignores you, but the man gives you a grin and a nod. It looks like he has a broken arm. Between chews of something he says chuckling, "Dropped a barrel on my arm, but this stuff they gave me has me in no pain! Hope the Latros can heal it right up so I can get back to work, eh?"

A short woman dressed in robes enters the room from a door to the side and motions for the waiting woman to come with her.

The Priestess looks you over from near the door and says to you, "Looks like you've been in a fight? Doesn't look life threatening, though, so you'll have to wait a bit until a Latros can see you." then with a nod of a bow she goes back through the door with her charge and closes it.

"A fight, eh?" asks the man with the broken arm still with a wide grin on his face, "What's your story?"

Gaurbal smiles at the man "Nothing exciting, friend. I got bit by a rat and I think it's going bad."

Vesper remains quiet.

Either she seems somewhat subdued by the temple surroundings or maybe she just doesn't like priests.

The warrior looks around at his companions.

"I don't know how long I will be waiting. I can meet you back at the adventurers hall."

"Dog or rat?" he asks looking up at Gaurbal, "I'm Brother Kerr, by the way. Latros by trade, Priest by avocation. Let's get you to a healing room and fix up that limb."

Brother Kerr stands, "Can walk on that leg or do you need help to get to Room 2 through there?"

Kerr looks at the rest of you and asks, "So, you with him or are you looking for some of the Saint's healing, too?"

Gaurbal nods his head in thanks "Thank you brother, it was a rat. I can walk on my own.", he heads in the direction of room 2.

"Well, come along then. I'll pray over you at the same time as this one." says Kerr and follows you through the door. There are small rooms along the wall of this corridor with numbers above each. Both Gaurbal and Daven go into Room 2 and Brother Kerr has you sit in chairs. He prepares an ointment and rubs it over your wounds in turn while muttering a prayer. You both immediately feel much better. Your legs are a bit tender where the bites were, but have healed over without scabbing or a scar.

Rising Kerr says, "That should do it. Try to avoid getting bitten by a rat in the future." he grins, "I suspect from your dress, weapons and demeanor getting bitten by rats is one of your lesser worries, though."

"I will say, that if you had a run in with rats here in the city, you should report it to the constabulary." he says seriously, "Rats carry disease and do a lot of property damage. Keeping them under control, if not eradicated, is part of the Town Guard's function."

"Wait!" he thinks a moment then muses aloud, "Young Dee was brought in for treatment for a rat bite a few days ago. He had been playing by the old drains outside the north wall. I wonder if rats are they are getting into the city by way of the old drains?

"Did you happen to be in the same area when this happened?"

"Ah! Well, no matter." Brother Kerr says absently, "Don't want rats getting a foothold in town by any route, do we?"

"That's you two all healed." says Brother Kerr, "If you exit by that door you'll be in the corridor that goes back to the prayer hall. I hope you'll see fit to leave a donation to The Saint at Her altar on your way out to cover the earthly costs of Her veneration."

Those that were with Brother Kerr (and those waiting in the waiting room) can leave by way of the corridor. If any of you stayed in the Prayer Hall you'll see your companions emerge from a different doorway, the one behind the altar.

As you enter the Prayer Hall you see that coins of various colors fill a trough that goes along the back of the altar where the golden statue of The Saint rests. The coins are mostly the brownish red of copper, but some silver is scattered among them and there are a couple of gold pieces showing, too! You only take a quick glance but you estimate there must be 20 or 30 gold worth of coins in that trough!

Gaurbal looks at the coins in the trough. He gets out his pouch and looks at the two shiny gold coins within.

He plucks out one of the gold coins and places it with the others.

Sometimes I'm too quick for my own good. While, as a player, I'd love to put that coin to arousing, this is what Gaurbal would do... And he doesn't have any change and it might be frowned on if he took some silver coins out.
