By RAW, that sort of thing is a Perception Test. However, depending on the situation, I might allow a Social Skill depending on what the character is attempting to do.archolewa wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 4:14 pm I think it makes sense to have the whole team together for calls. At the bare minimum, I want my character to be there (though she probably won't say anything). Her photographic memory would be a tremendous asset to the team (recording without electronics!). I don't know what the rules for reading body language and voice tone is. She might be good at that (if it's some sort of perception style thing) or absolute rubbish if it's more charisma based.
Or they could go through Falstaff...shaidar wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 4:35 pm Contacted as a team sounds good to me. I also like the idea of us all being there for calls, even if we have a spokesperson who usually does the talking.
Communicating via gigs could be a little complicated and time consuming. But it could be fine via the bands site on the matrix!
Nothing says a band can't have more than one songwriter.
I wasn't. But I just Googled them... Cool.
No one said that the band terminology that the group is using has to be a real band. That could just be the way you talk about it on the phone and com...Though, it could be a fun element to throw into the mix if others want to pick up and instrument or singing or something as Knowledge or Hobby Skills. A garage band and a shadowrunning team... Fun!
You can also each have your own Lifestyles and chip in to buy one for the team. It could be a safehouse or HQ separate from where you live.
Probably mostly trying to read body language (if we can see them), or listening to voice inflections and the like to try to get a read on their emotional state. Sounds like then her Perceptive edge would apply then? If so, then yeah I totally imagine Baby Blue just sitting there and listening/watching carefully, filing the event away in her crazy good memory, and telling her fellows whether she she thinks the Johnson is on the level and what not.Charybdis Richelle wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 6:28 pm By RAW, that sort of thing is a Perception Test. Your first month would be free, because I will pay for everyone. Obviously I can't put up the 16k each month, so afterwards we split the bill by all. If we have all 6 we could get 'high' lifestyle and pay less than a middle lifestyle.archolewa wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 10:05 pmProbably mostly trying to read body language (if we can see them), or listening to voice inflections and the like to try to get a read on their emotional state. Also, I took singing 4 and dancing 2 for her hobbies. I'm totally down with us being a legit band. I imagine Baby Blue is a total wallflower, doing her best not to be noticed. Except when she's on stage. Then she's singing and dancing and pouring her heart and soul into the music.
I think the accomodations sound reasonable. So, I'd be paying 10% of 10K a month, so 1000 nuyen for the first month? That should work. After one month for 1000Y, I have just under 1500 left (before dividing by 10). So I could afford two months of that off the bat. Alternatively, I could afford 1 month of rooming at the high lifestyle, and 1 month of a low lifestyle safehouse (probably arranged through Neon).
I'm also down with a style like the one you posted @shaidar.
Lockpicking mundane locks is it's own skill now. Check a few posts up for the skills from SOTA.Gremlin wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 10:38 pm I'm still trying to somehow fit attributes and skills in before even thinking about money (taking Elf and Shaman is literally half the build points by themselves), so I haven't looked at lifestyles or other gear yet.
Question: One of the Stealth specializations is 'Theft', so it seems all kinds of mundane thieving seems to fall under stealth. So that should include lockpicking mundane locks and pick pocketing, yes? Since it specifically includes 'sleight of hand'.
For lockpicking in particular, uses the rules in State of the Art 2063. You can do it that way. Most of the groups I have seen do it make it more equitable. They added up the total... 10% for each extra person, and then they divided that totally by the number of people. So, if 3 were sharing a Lifestyle, they would pay 120% of the cost and divide that by 3. So, everyone paid their fair share.archolewa wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 10:05 pm I think the accomodations sound reasonable. So, I'd be paying 10% of 10K a month, so 1000 nuyen for the first month? Heh! I think we cross-posted there... But yes, pick pocketing remains with Stealth.Juramenta wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 10:48 pmLockpicking mundane locks is it's own skill now. Pick pocketing should still be stealth? But you would have to check that with Chary to be certain.

Ah, ok. I think I misinterpreted the rule when you first mentioned it. I read it as "person A has to pay 100% person of the lifestyle, but person B can ride along for an additional 10%." I read it as more rigid than it actually is.Charybdis Richelle wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 10:52 pmYou can do it that way. Most of the groups I have seen do it make it more equitable. You shouldn't need Disquise unless you want a backup in case someone sees through the Mask... or are too spent to cast.Gremlin wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 11:45 pmOkay.Charybdis Richelle wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 10:49 pm For lockpicking in particular, uses the rules in State of the Art 2063. I see that Disguise is also on that same list for mundane disguises. Reading the spell Mask it doesn't look like there's any need for a complementary skill so a Disguise skill wouldn't really be necessary with Mask?
You can do it the other way if the first person doesn't mind, but most roomies are more equal than that... Except for me, with my adult children...archolewa wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 11:50 pmAh, ok.
