"Looks like we found the backdoor. We should note it in case we need it later and get back in and go the other way."
Sorry, I thought I had replied to this already.
Anyone want to offer some ideas on how to mark the spot?
And, do you all want to go back down the tunnel?
Back through the tower to pick up treasure and the halfling corpse before returning to the village?
Or just go back to the village?
No one asked the time, but you met at Baladar's around noon. It must be late afternoon now. Maybe four-ish.

Myrrh
Myrrh will cut a stake from a small tree, "We will hammer this in between a loose stone or something back at the junction so we know which way is out."

”Looks like we found the backdoor…
“The dwarven lasses down under nicknamed me their backdoor dwarf,” Gromp snickered with a wink to Cinders.
The dwarf took a deep breath of fresh air, glad to be out of the place where he couldn’t remember how he got there, though he knew why he was there, but not with who. It was confusing like that.
“I can piss around here, and the dog will sniff it out,” Gromp said, an idea worthy of his class.
”But maybe the cleric’s idea is more reliable.”
“I need to find that book. The tower ruins or under it are most likely to have it, not caverns under a marsh. Let’s go to the tower ruins.”

The place you came from is under the ruined tower. That's pretty much all that's left of it.

"Lets head back in now and do some more exploring under the old tower."

While the group is looking around, stretching, and setting the marker, a group of dog-faced humanoids comes up out of the tunnel!
Surprise? The enemy is surprised!
PCs d6= [1d6]=3, Enemy d6= [1d6]=2
There are 6 kobolds holding sharp daggers in your midst!
Actions?

Gromp, his memory hazy after his black-out, realized he was under the tower ruins. He huffed and puffed in anger and disappointment.
As the dog faced monsters emerged, the dwarf took his anger out on them with sword and dagger.
M’Lady [1d20+2]=13+2=15, dam. [1d8+2]=8+2=10; dagger [1d20]=15, dam. [1d4+2]=4+2=6 Does the cleave affect take place, or something, if they die?
The fresh air must have helped the dwarf, as Gromp harvested blood and entrails.

Gromp stabs a kobold with his sword and dagger, ripping the sad creature to pieces.
A human Fighter can Cleave, not a Dwarf.
3 kobolds left.

If the sword blow killed one, can I use the dagger on another?

Brondulm
Tries to take advantage of the party's surprise by slashing one of the Kobolds with his short sword and Lefty but does not have quite the advantage he thought he did and cannot find purchase with either weapon:
Short Sword to hit: [1d20+2]=6+2=8; damage [1d6+2]=5+2=7
Lefty to hit [1d20-2]=2-2=0; damage [1d4+1]=4+1=5

Ellith
Quickly joining his companions, the elf swings at one of the kobolds -
"Surrender you fools!"
Ellith attacks! [1d20+1]=7+1=8, Damage [1d8+1]=4+1=5
Faron likewise attempts to bite!
Faron Bites! [1d20+2]=15+2=17, Damage [1d6]=3

Brondulm's buckle loses its swash...he misses with his blades!
Ellith stabs and misses, but Faron brings down a fouth kobold in a whimper and chomp!
Cinders slashes a fifth kobold to ribbons!
Scimitar [1d20+4]=16+4=20 Damage [1d6+1]=5+1=6
And the last kobold gets one of Vali's daggers in its gullet!
Dagger [1d20+1]=19+1=20 Damage [1d4+1]=4+1=5

Ellith
Ellith takes some time to search the kobolds for valuables or information, then follows after the others back down the tunnel.

Gromp, pleased with his first kill of the day, his pride partially restored, wiped M’Lady and sheathed his blades.
“Though against my nature, I suppose keeping one alive for interrogation could be helpful. Maybe next time we should do that.”
The dwarf searched the bodies.

From among the 6 dead kobolds, Ellith gathers 73 copper coins!
