Torix doesn't have proficiency in long swords, but he can carry it for the party if Kiri doesn't want it.

He's has a quandary: he wants to know if the Thracian spear is magical, but the barbarian doesn't want to aak for a Detect Magic spell. Is there some other way he can test it? On a tree maybe?

Zahra believed the new spear might be magical because it felt light in her hand, and its wooden shaft survived the digestive acids of the amoebic horror.

After use in actual combat is when I reveal any bonuses a magic weapon has.

It wouldn't be out of character for Torix the savage to ask the masked unholy sorcerer Amethu for guidance about things unholy and sorcerous.

This is going to sound bananas, but I forgot how to access my character sheet. Finally figured it out. I’ve only done it one million times previously…

Kiri is interested to carry the Scimitar +2. He’s not proficient, but if he messes with it enough maybe he could be one day. Or maybe they’ll encounter a new party member who needs it. You never know.

Kiri has a spare quiver with 18 arrows he will gift to Torix.

In that case, Cruloc will take back his 4 arrows. He only had 6 to begin with.

No, not for this game. The spell description for Identify is pretty insane. Which means that in The Horror at Briarsgate we would follow it literally.

Cruloc proposes a +1 Thracian sword swap for Torix's old +1 spear. We'd both have a pretty decent backup weapon.
