I think I forgot I have been thinking this over for a while and I do like the short and long rest part of 5th edition. But to adapt it for old school 1e or 2e I think I would like to make it a house rule.

Short Rest (once per day) regains 1 HP, and possibly able to regain 1 spell. (Resting and recovering for 1 to 4 hours)
Long Rest (Once per day) regains 2 HP, and full spell list (same as resting overnight/day for 8 to 10 hours)

Thoughts? This amplifies the ability to heal and make magic using characters a bit more "pliable" in certain situations.

It works for me. Instead of 1 or 2 hp back you could do a PC's Con hp bonus back with a minimum of 1 or 2. Or if you wanted to give non-spell casters something they could get their Con bonus back in addition to the 1 or 2 hp.

True, if any of them have a CON bonus. Some of the time including Stat bonuses amounts to nothing if it is not from the right Stat. But I like the suggestion. I added what I typed up already to the House Rules & Char Creation section subject to be modified if a suggestion inspires me further. keep the feedback coming!

Honestly, I never really tracked PC XP totals on my part I'm too used to the DM expecting the players to do that. Unfortunately, my past DM's with that concept typically had the same player as the same character through the entirety of a campaign. Where as in this format that has not been the case for me yet.

I can always run back through all the XP awards I posted and total it up to double-check everyone. But I'm pretty keen on the honor system, I don't think anyone here is a "troll" trying to "cheat" for levels.

I have been tracking Egon right from the start and I am pretty sure he is the longest running PC in the game now. Been in it from the start.

Egon, Weston, Xlore are original group characters. Urtesi was as well. Delsenora and Elanriel were as well in that original party just by the original players.

Egon is for sure the longest running PC with the original player still playing.

Trist needed quite a bit to get to level 3 Fighter/Mage. I'm thinking it was near 5000 xp ish since it's split. She needed 4000 xp for fighter and 5000 xp for Mage. That means she needs 10,002 xp to get to Mage 3 which split is 5001. Enough to get fighter and mage up to level 3.

hmm holy crap lol I probably should have had you start off at 3rd lvl Fighter 2nd level mage I guess. But meh, too late now. "You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube." as the saying goes.

That's okay, Ed. If Xlore was my character from the start I would have a better handle on keeping track of XP. I'll take a look through the thread where you distribute XP to everyone tomorrow night and make sure I'm up to date.

I was pretty busy yesterday after work anyway had to pick up Son's Birthday dinner, and stop off at the vet to get meds for one of the ferrets we have. Then we did some family stuff at home, JackBox games party pack 5 was one of my son's gifts he wanted so we played some of that for a while. So I didn't do anything on the forums really last night.

I'll do my own count of XP at some point maybe tonight or this weekend.

I'm going on vacation for two weeks. I'm gonna check often but, if I take my time posting, please feel free to NPC my character.

Don't worry I won't kill off your character, I've only done that once with two that left at the same time way back in the start of this game.
