Razillin blurts out "What do the drow want with Red Larch?"; he then covers his mouth with a hand, looking apologetic.
Brother Bentley grits his teeth and asks, "What do your people want with Red Larch?"
The spirit of the Drow shudders and a fearsome appearance seems to come over it. The spirit opens its mouth to speak...but instead of words coming out of its spectral throat, black talons of shadow erupt through it! The spirit howls in agony and the body of the Drow arches upward, bones snapping, muscles stretching.
A shadowy creature of pure darkness claws its way out of the mouth of the Drow's spirit, splitting it in half, coalescing into a monstrosity from the land of nightmares!

The smell of rot and decay is overwhelming, as are the infernal screams echoing in the stables. The horses are going crazy and Brother Bentley is on his knees, staring up at this...creature.
"We grow weary of your incessant chatter, priest! You will now answer OUR questions!"
Winter is coming...

Razillin tries to help Brother Bentley "Break the spell Brother Bentley, you've got to stop the spell." unsure of what else to try the gnome fidgets around for his holy symbol of Gond and starts praying for aid to turn back this evil spirit or demon whatever it is that has taken over Brother Bentley's spell.

Kol

THe big barbarian hisses at seeing this abomination. "See? See what talk to dead do? Very very bad!"

Unsheathing her massive two handed blade, she prepares to attack the thing.

Vesper

Staying in the shadows, she listened to the dead drow speak ignoring the remark about him shutting her up. When the foul creature appears she waits for the priest to break contact. She readies her blade though she doubt it could harm a creature of black shadow.

The smell of rot and decay is overwhelming, as are the infernal screams echoing in the stables. The horses are going crazy and Brother Bentley is on his knees, staring up at this...creature.
"We grow weary of your incessant chatter, priest! You will now answer OUR questions!"

"Break the spell Brother Bentley, you've got to stop the spell." Razillin blurts out, unsure what to say or do. He fumbles for his holy symbol and begins praying fervently for some type of divine intervention.
Moan, Mag, and Kol draw steel, and while Kol hesitates, the Ranger and the Elf do not.
Moan initiative: [1d10]=10
Init: [1d10]=10 (Mag)
Initiative: [1d10]=2 (Critter)

Seeing the flash of steel, the shadow creature hisses, YOU DARE?
It turns on Moan and tries to grab the ranger, but he leaps back and beyond its blackened talons!
Claw attack: [1d20]=1 [1d4+1]=2+1=3
Moan steps back in and slashes the creature with his magical sword, nearly splitting the beast in two! Mag also slashes at the creature, but his sword goes right through it with no damage done. A hellish howl from the wounded beast shakes the rafters of the barn...and those howls...are answered!

Emerging from the shadows comes three creatures from the Pit!

Bentley screams and falls on the ground in some type of seizure, and Constable Harburk curses and falls backward against one of the stable doors. The demons have reddish blackened skin, some with open oozing sores. Their talons are long and sharp, and their eyes blaze with hell fire! As one, the creatures pounce, eager for flesh!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Actions!!
Roll initiative and state your actions; may want to also state a contingency plan like, "I move to attack one of the demons, but if it is dispelled before I attack, I will move to another one." "Or, if I am hit, I will drink a potion of healing...or cast a spell...or shit myself and run." Something like that
;)

Kol

Gripping her blade tightly she will attempt to cut the thing in half!

If it is destroyed she will attempt to get the next closest foe.

Attack on fiendish foe [1d20+1]=10+1=11

LOL good try but doubtful it will hit as it is also a non magcal blade. At level 4 is a different story

To clarify I was attempting to turn undead last turn when fumbling for his holy symbol. I just wasn't sure if you wanted me to roll for that or if you roll for it.

Mag

Mag is hoping that the three other creatures (demons) are not immune to regular weapons like the first creature. He will attack the closest one of the three new creatures that is alive when his turn comes if they are all dead he will try to guard the priest.

Init: [1d10]=10
Attack with Long Sword[1d20+3]=17+3=20, Damage with Long Sword S/M [1d8+5]=8+5=13 L [1d12+5]=8+5=13

Moan

Moan attacks the same creature again.

Initiative [1d10]=10
Long Sword +1 [1d20+4]=6+4=10 to hit [1d8+7]=2+7=9 damage
Long Sword +1 [1d20+4]=5+4=9 to hit [1d8+7]=5+7=12 damage

2 attacks this round for specialization.

if the creature is vanquished Moan will shift to one of the demons.

"Damn...we're in a tight spot!" shouts Constable Harburk, as he struggles to find his footing while also keeping his bowels from staining his pants. There's something about seeing the infernal up close and personal that can unnerve even the most poised of persons. So it is with most of the companions...but a handful of them are unfazed as they attack the terrors with steel. Kol, Mag, and Moan swing and slash at the creatures of darkness while Razillin continues to pray to Gond for divine aid in dispelling these beings...but the God of Wonders is silent.

Seeking solace in the corners of the barn, the large shadow creature slashes weakly at Moan, but does not even get close to hurting the ranger. Moan tries desperately to banish it, but narrowly misses.

Kol swings her two-handed sword in a wide arc, clipping one of the tops of the stables, but somehow, the blade glows faintly as it parts the flesh of the demon, slicing it to the bone. With a hideous wail, the creature is banished back to its infernal domain.

Mag feels something odd about his attack as well and his blade splits another of the demons nearly in half! It shrieks and fades into a haze of sulfur, banished like its comrade.

Only one of the demonic creatures remains and it chooses to attack the praying Gnome, hoping for an easy kill. But Razillin sees it coming for him and manages to roll aside as it claws and bites at his face...missing him completely!

Actions!
One shadow and one demon remain!
Winter is coming...

Kol

Encouraged by her feat of banishing the first shadow demon [she'll call it that heh], Kol grips her mighty sword and attempts to do the same

to the second Shadow! Yelling at the top of her lungs she takes a tremedous swing and attempts to give the second Shadow the same fate as the

first!

Attack on 2nd shadow [1d20+1]=4+1=5

Darnit lol, well at least she got the first one :)

"Go back to the Shadow, hellspawn!" Brother Bentley shrieks, continuing to brandish his holy symbol, the silver disc of Tymora, Goddess of Luck and Good Fortune.

The shadowy creature offers some unearthly hiss and tries to grab Moan one last time. But the ranger ducks under its black talons and cuts it down with longsword! The shadow tries to scream, but fails as it disperses into nothing.

Kol tries to help, but her big two-handed sword is ineffective this time. Not so for the demi-human duo of Raz and Mag! Smacking the demon with his mace, Raz staggers the creature, and Mag ends its existence on the Prime Material by taking it's head clean off! It disappears with a hellish wail and the stench of brimstone.

The atmosphere in the stables becomes considerably lighter and is somewhat quiet except for the labored breathing of the combatants and the occasional whicker from the horses. The dead Drow lies still as if nothing happened around it. Constable Harburk uses a stable door to pull himself to his feet, his face still pale after what he witnessed. Brother Bentley is covered in sweat and his hands are trembling slightly. But...he manages a smile, kisses his holy symbol, wipes his face with the arm of his robe, and says hoarsely, "I could use a drink. Anyone care to join me?'

Kol, Mag, Moan, and Raz each receive 60 x.p.

Razillin "Hmm well I have a drink that is good enough for me, but I will buy you one to drink for me Brother Bentley." the gnome offers a hand to the Priest of Tymora to help him up if needed. "I suppose we should do something about the dead body perhaps burn it or bury it? Good constable what do you think? What do you typically do with dead bad guys?"
