Sorry....1 XP.

Otherwise, let me know when you decide what you are doing. Remember, talking about doing something is not the same as making a statement of what you are actually doing.
That is enough to bring them both up to 10 XP...whoo hoo, level 1 baby!

Jonas will most likely becomcea cleric, once he finds a suitable Patron. Willem will stay a halfling...but now he can share is (limited) luck

If the door spiking manages to go off without a hitch, Willem will wait until everyoneis ready and then run into the second room, look for some treasure, and either grab some and run like hell or just run like hell if anythings starts to move.

Feel free to select any god from the DCC core rulebook, or to suggest one. You can use these gods as well:

As soon as you are ready, unless you really, really want to die wait before levelling, we will go on.

LEVEL FIRST.

No, really...

I MEAN IT!
:D

As for God, Nergal seems to be Neutral and Jonas has Jed to learn from already, so that might both make sense and work well. Up to you of course.

I would like to level up first please. I'll take a look through the book and the DDC forum. I also have a copy of the Patrons book you helped put together RK, so I may have a look through that again if that is OK. I'll try to have a patron picked out tonight and the PC sheets leveled.

Remember that while a god may be a patron, a patron need not be a god. Clerics need to worry about gods.

That said, you may well get some ideas from the patron book, as there is a god or two therein.

thanks for the reminder. Maybe I'll have Jonas become a magic user...patron taint is the way to go :D

Sorry. Couldn't decide if I wanted Jonas to be a cleric or a wizard. Went with Cleric of Nergal. Both PC sheets should be updated.

"Wait!", says Jonas. Setting down the flask of oil he kneels before Jed. "Brother Jed, I...I...before we go any further I want to join you in the brotherhood of Nergal. I'm tired of being afraid of these ...creatures. I see how calm you are in the face of their corruption. Please help me!"

While Jonas is converting, the third door is pushed to and spiked without a problem.

Jed feels a dark cloud of potential disapproval - perhaps for loaning out a sacred relic like a common weapon - dissipate as Jonas becomes a loyal priest of Nergal. Indeed, Jed gains a point of Luck.

After Jed instructs Jonas in the faith, and everybody is ready, Gunnar will nod. "Any last words?" Assuming none, Gunnar says, "All right then, Master Willem. We didn't get dressed up for nothing."

"Just be r'memberin' not ta throw that thar oil 'til I'm out 'o the way. And if you have ta take a swing at sumtin', be swingin' high...I don't be needed a close shave today." Willem says with a wink.

"Here..take this," he says setting downhis spear. "Don' need ta be trippin' over it if I be runnin' out."

"Here we go", he whispers under his breath as he pushes opent he door, his short sword at the ready, and enters the room.

As Willem steps into the room, he notes an assortment of bags are part of the grave goods here, as well as two necklaces of a silvery metal being worn by two separate skeletons. There is plenty of miscellaneous debris to go up, when the lit oil is cast! Of course, as you suspected, you are not there long before the dead begin to rise....

If there is a bag within reach Willem will try to grab it, as long as it doesn't bring him within reach of the skeletons.

He will back out of the room, keeping ahead of any oncoming skeletons, but trying to bait them through the door.

"Batten down yer hatches, boys, thar's a storm a comin'!", he calls back out through the door. "I'm a comin' out and I be bringin' some friends."

Initiative: 11 + 1 = 12.

Gunnar waits just outside the doorway... he waits for Willem to come out then barks out the signal for Jonas to pour the oil, then HP (or someone else with a lit torch) will step up and light it. Anything comes through the flames Gunnar will attack defensively! to hit: 19 + 2 (deed) + 2 = 23. Damage: 4 + 2 + 2 = 8.

Daryll and Cisneros will stay far away. HP will back away after lighting the fire.

As the seven skeletons rise, Willem takes a quick glance around, trying to find a bag near enough to grab without risk. As luck would have it, there actually is, and he grabs it.

At this point, however, the skeletons are up and moving, and they try to reach Willem before he leaves...reaching out cold bony hands as they move forward. Init 8 + 2 = 10.

"Batten down yer hatches, boys, thar's a storm a comin'!", he calls back out through the door. "I'm a comin' out and I be bringin' some friends." But do the friends reach him before he reaches the door? Willem (and only Willem) roll initiative!

(Beermotor, you can keep your rolls, but we need to wait to see if the way is clear or not first)

Willem rolls initiative
[1d20-1] = 2-1 = 1

Doh! He's not called 'Willem the Clumsy' for nothing...

Okay; here's the situation:

The skeletons are going to catch up to Willem before he can leave the room....let's say that he is still on the inside part of the door when they catch up to him. Now, everyone may roll init and take actions. Willem's, the skeletons', and beermotor's inits stand as they are.

As a halfling Willam can two weapon fight...is the bag he grabbed usable as a weapon? I'm thinking he'd try to toss the bag at one skellie and then strike with his sword. Assuming he's still alive when his turn comes around...
Also, to confirm, you can't burn luck to affect initiative, right? I'm pretty sure that you can't but it never hurts to ask. ;)

The bag is heavy with the clink of metal - if he can come up with a second equal-sized one-handed weapon, he can go for it (i.e., swinging two bags of coin). Obviously, if he has a second weapon of the same size, he can drop the bag and attack with both.

You can absolutley burn luck to affect initiative.

Willem... You better burn all the luck you need to get out of there.
