I realised the official region map was posted in the Campaign setting but I have edited the first Map thread post to include the regional area the game is set in.

I have updated pics of the NPC's to include the clerics.

So, just to get the routine, no xp for defeating the lizard men then? I mean I don't mind, just want to get the hang of it (it = xp tracking i practice).
Experience points are shared among surviving expedition members at close of trip. How you divided any treasure is a group decision.

How xp is generated is covered in the House Rules topic.

Is there a player map of the inside? If not, do you want me to draw a player map? I already map in another campaign, so I'd be happy to.

If so, should I just periodically post it in my PC's expedition thread?
A map maker will be great. I have a large player map which shows the Barrowmaze in its entirety and I won't find it easy to post portions bit by bit.

So if you can understand my descriptions, by all means help the group out.

I would suggest you add portions as they become explored in your expedition thread then make one map with room descriptions for your private forum. I will cut and paste that to give s copy to each surviving character and only reveal the Barrowmaze map as stuff becomes public not private knowledge.

It takes time but I can put up maps via screenshot and editing. Time consuming but I think it works.

Map looks a bit big, but good.
Yeah, because I had to enlarge the screen shot and the crop/cut and edit stuff but as you explore the map detail will shrink. All done on my mobile not a computer so what you get is what I can do.

With the Barrow mound map, I use the same, cropping the entire map as a pic and taking a screenshot which I can edit in a basic way.

At my level of artistic talent, a stick figure Hansel and Gretel would look like a pole-dancing Cthulhu.

I think that map will be just fine once we investigate a few more areas.

Puts a whole new meaning to 5 foot squares.

Yes I do very good.

I will try and get my descriptions correct so you can make one accurately.

I shall have to remember that the scroll parchment survives any Gerdal mishaps so others can enjoy any posthumous benefits.

Freehand? No grid?

NICE!

I hope you used a big piece of paper. :D

Thank you! No, I always hand draw without grid. I feel the maps become more alive that way, more similar to what one of our PCs might actually imagine.

Problem with paper is: I don't know in which direction the maze will expand, so I'm prepared to redraw parts of it as we move along.

Steban has a lot of military knowledge from being a soldier, let's see if he survives to learn how to be an adventurer. ;)

In other news, I'll be off-line this coming weekend.

House keeping!

Just let me know if you haven't had a response to any questions or I have missed something your character wants.

SM has the Spider Silk thread stalled? :?:

Thank you for asking.

No, I don't stall any but I try to give each player an opportunity to post. I don't like directing characters actions unless it would just involves a simple "my character is searching or guarding" action which I can narrate either/or effect on a group update. Normally if I call for a skill check, save or attack roll I prefer players to do them for their characters.

I appreciate the prompt though, I don't want any group feeling left behind if others advance at a quicker pace.

I have sent requests for players to post but will usually update each scene before the weekends.

I will update Spider Silk trek shortly.

I house rule poisons so they are not instant death or instantly paralyzing.
I do like a lot of the house rules which I think makes the game a lot more fun. Mages retaining spells and one or two buffs for other classes.

Does the above poison/paralysis cover Petrification as well or spell effects? Just clarifying. I noted one bulletin board notice about a petrified dwarf in 'Basilisk Wood'. So thought to ask in case that event crops up.

I do like the p/p rule meaning you can still go down fighting and rewards investing in a high constitution.

Well I will try to give some guidance. Petrification uses a higher saving throw generally so is harder to initially survive the effects. I think the principal could cover that also, so you have a round or two subject to constitution saves to say a final few words, make a sacrificial action.

Magic or spell effects are not covered above. Their effects are instantaneous.

My original intention was just to break away from 'instant death' features which I think as a player is so discouraging to suffer from. A point in case with one group now discovering the bodies of two comrades who fell in an encounter with some ghouls. The actual battle turned on two key issues. Firstly a successful 'Turn Undead' only turned a single ghoul and secondly the sheer inability of the pair to hit a ghoul in combat. Both characters failed paralysis saving throws but even while they had a round or two of resistance to the touch effect, if they had killed one ghoul, the third might have faced a morale test to join his turned companion. Then the pair would have collapsed under the paralysis touch effect but possibly still be alive.

Just wanted to say "hi!" and thanks for having me join in the fun here. I will work on a character today\tomorrow and look forward to rolling virtual dice with you all in the near future.
