Re: Adventure 2.0
I think we should start on the sleeping area floor.

If you still want to try a bait, you have time. All the attacks have taken place well into the night shift. You have several hours to set up something. Lloyd, what area did you want to buddy up in?
Re: Adventure 2.0
"One thought for the bait is to have one of our combatants, say Rick, in a room off by himself. We don't know how intelligent this creature is so maybe not have obvious weapons visible. Then the three of you on patrol can make sure to always be just a minute away."
Re: Adventure 2.0
I get on the comm with daz who is on the security monitor duty, ( im guessing she has some of the scientist with her.
"Daz, can you ask the guys with you, how many sathar bodies they have, and if they are all accounted for?"

Re: Adventure 2.0
The scientists report that all Sathar corpses are accounted for and present.
Re: Adventure 2.0
How about the Engineering area? If there’s time, can Lloyd stop in the morgue to see the puncture wounds?Harpoonrgm84a wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 1:21 am If you still want to try a bait, you have time. Re: Adventure 2.0
Rick agrees to act as bait but wants to make sure someone else is relatively close. He will have his zap gun (electrostunner), laser pistol and sword handy but not obvious.

Well, there is no engineering section, Lloyd. The labs are Xenobiology, Xenoanthropology, Xenobiochemistry, and Xenotoxology. What were you looking for in respect to the puncture marks.

Re: Adventure 2.0
Rick, where would you like to set up to be bait?
Re: Adventure 2.0
I just assumed they had a facilities area.Harpoonrgm84a wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 12:14 pm Well, there is no engineering section, Lloyd. The labs are Xenobiology, Xenoanthropology, Xenobiochemistry, and Xenotoxology. What were you looking for in respect to the puncture marks.
Xeno toxicology for now.
Previously I wrote two long requests for observation information and even rolled in the event it would be useful.
I want to know if it can be determined if one of the wounds is an entry wound and the other an exit wound. Also, if blood was destroyed or removed, did the body veins and such collapse Or are they still filled with some kind of fluid.
I can find the old request if you want.
Re: Adventure 2.0
Check August 2 for the most recent re-state on the request.

Re: Adventure 2.0
Both wounds appear to be entry wounds. As for the request on the blood, that would require an extensive autopsy to be done on the body. As far as your medic, "T'prin, could determine, there was just no blood left in the body. The other noteworthy thing is that all of the bite marks were deep enough to hit the carotid artery.
Re: Adventure 2.0
as long as the heart is beating, all you have to do is open the vein and let it flow.
I had a thought last night could it be one of the scientist might be our culprit, maybe a Sathar sympathizer.
how many scientists, and what races?
also all accounted for?

Re: Adventure 2.0
The compliment of the lab is 15 "admin" personnel, and 45 researchers. All fatalities have been the researchers. All 4 member races are here.
Re: Adventure 2.0
only researchers being targeted points back to one of the admins being involved.
Re: Adventure 2.0
If the deaths have all been within the lab area, then Rick will set himself up in one of the labs, while making sure that someone else on the team is concealed nearby.
Re: Adventure 2.0
That’s not strictly true, that all liquid will be gone from a tube or a network of tubes. Thermodynamics tells us otherwise. Even with a pulsatronic pump, there’s a point when you need to introduce energy (like hanging Or injection) to drain blood from a body. There’s too much capillary surface area to surrender it all to flow when you reduce the volume. Lloyd is thinking of this in terms he understands, like hydraulics or even water lines, even then you need to blow air or put solvent in the lines, and is used to using a lift to help drain oils or emulsions.
Thanks for the info on the wounds.
It doesn’t change where he’s going to lurk with his assigned ‘buddy’. He will also look into his trapping idea if the station has any of the types of canisters or pumps he mentioned in a previous post.
Also, is there any sensor here in the station that can detect ultrasound? Like echolocation.

Lloyd, there is a similar device in the Xeno-anthropology lab that you can use. It has a limited range of only a few meters, but might be modified by a technician.

Okay, is everyone caught up enough to move on?
