Sorry. I had the best day today, just back from seeing The Rise Of Skywalker, I really liked it.

Saracen circles the edge of the entangle spell, moving to the closest part to the Minotaur.

He gets out his rope. Hey, Cresty, here’s some rope if you can tie it up firmly before the spell laspses, I think Andron has plans to interrogate it.

If the paladin wants to, he will try and throw one end of his rope to him.

Back To Work
Freeday, 19th of Goodmonth
Early Morning, Partly Cloudy, Warm, Humid

On the tiny deserted jungle island, the very ground itself wriggles and writhes, holding on tight to the ranger and the dog Cu as weeds and roots wrap around their legs and bodies. Alordan attempts to communicate with the beast to no avail, Cu continues to bark and thrash around in the animated foliage. The huge minotaur covered in bright light has less difficulty, using its massive girth to break free of its vine bonds a bit easier than the others. Even completely blinded, it uses its other senses to suss out the area of its closest enemy, goring its horns into Alordan and grazing him across his shoulder, causing him a minor wound. 2 dam

Gramble pops back up from his stumble easy enough but still misses the mark when he attacks the monster caught in the weeds. Cresty has better luck when trying to pull himself free, attacking the minotaur successfully again with his sword for the second time in as many tries. The beast roars again from its new vicious wound.

Lerrick dares to reach over the enveloping greenery, touching the paladin on his shoulder and reviving the worst of his wounds. Andronichishche again attempts to calm the mighty beast who doesn't seem willing to parlay at the moment, in any voice or any language. In fact, it completely ignores any commands to surrender as it slowly rips from the ground any roots and vines grasping it.

Saracen pulls out some rope from his pack, offering an end to the paladin. Maag decides against jumping or shooting into the melee, instead leaping back across to the other rock above the head of the huge minotaur. He waits to see if the monster breaks free of its bonds before engaging it.

Tlachtga takes another step backwards to make room for the others all while casting another of natures spells at the enemy. In a split second, the minotaur starts to glow a bright color of purple, making it easier to target for the combatants who can still function. As Rex said, it is now +2 to hit.

You dont get a +1 on damage for a 15 STR. That doesnt kick in until 16 STR.

How entwined is the minotaur? Is it close to regaining the use of its limbs?

Both arms are now free and one leg is free. It is badly injured, but it doesn't appear about to bolt.

If Saracen can reach it from the edge of the foliage he will attempt to strike it with his sword.

[1d20+3] = 10+3 = 13 : [1d8+4] = 8+4 = 12 : [1d12+4] = 7+4 = 11 Not including the +2 to hit for the faerie fire and the lower armour from the blindness.

Andronichishche, realizing the enraged minotaur refuses to surrender, or even withdraw, suggests another strategy to the melee combatants. "It's severely wounded now. Try to use subduing strikes, and if it falls, quickly bind it with rope and tend the wounds!"

Alordan thinks 'what could go wrong with subduing and tying up such a beast?' but will try to anyway... he whacks the thing with the flat of his blade.

Long Sword Attack [1d20+1] = 9+1 = 10 (THACO=18) would be 12 if the +2 applies also.
Long Sword Damage(+1 str/+1 weapon) = S/M: [1d8+2] = 4+2 = 6 / L: [1d12+2] = 9+2 = 11

So be it! I don't see anything good coming out of this. The paladin strikes at the beast again with the flat end of his sword. Not used to striking an enemy with the intent to subdue, the attack misses.

[1d20+2] = 9+2 = 11 [2d8] = 8

Lerrick

dont be so sure. There’s a +2 to hit it from the faerie fire don’t forget, and it’s blind so it’s four Armour Classes Higher than it is normally.

Back To Work
Freeday, 19th of Goodmonth

The beast tears away from its entanglement completely, raising its ax and swinging it out in front of its blinded eyes in a wild arc that whiffs through the air. Gramble and Saracen immediately cut the monster down, violently ending its life with thick sprays of hot bovine blood that soaks anyone in the area.

Andron suggests mercy as the huge bullman’s body thuds back to the ground and is slowly enveloped in the entwining foliage again.

Actions?

The entangling ground will cease in 8 more minutes, but since you are right on the edge of the affected area, I will allow you to chop Alordan and Cu free in less time if you prefer.

Andronichishche deftly steps back, avoiding the deluge of bovine blood dousing the combatants. No sooner had he suggested attempting to capture the beast was it brutally cut down by ax and blade. He quickly assesses his companions for serious injuries before again imploring them of the opportunity to capture the monster. "It may still be alive! Please hurry, bind it with rope and stop the bleeding, this may be our only chance to interrogate it."

Tlachtga

Once the spell expires Tlachtga will check on Cu and make sure he is fine. Then she will search over the Minotaur, looking for anything unusual about it.

Looking down from his perch atop the rocks, Maag tuts and shakes his head. "Why can't we all just get along? Dis is a sad, cruel world dat we live in."

After a moment he calls out to Saracen "Oi! Don't forget to chop 'is 'orns off for yer magic stuff mate!"

Saracen looks up and gives the shadowblade a thumbs up and a grim grimace at his words.

These Minotaurs seem very aggressive. I don’t know if that’s just their nature or if these ones are sworn to protect these caves or what’s inside etc. Perhaps they all used to be cats and are transformEd by the lingering wizards magic around these parts. Hopefully it will become clearer before we end up unleashing some terrible evil from its prison.

Andronichishche appeared ready to rebuke Gramble's coronial declaration, but quickly regains his composure when he realized just how much of the beast's blood was spilled, virtually soaking the immediate area in bright red crimson. "Damn ...", he curses under his breath. "I was hoping to interrogate it, precisely for the reason Brother Saracen just said."

Andron pivots to gaze into the circular courtyard beyond the stone lintel. "Unlike the first two forays, this minotaur was not waiting in ambush above the cave entrance. Given the numerous tracks Mr. Alordan discovered, both within the stone circle and without, it appears to have been ...", his voice trails off as he kneels to more closely examine the tracks outside, "... searching or hunting for something, or someone."

He stands up with hands on his hips, furrowing his brow in thought. "We also did not trigger a minotaur summoning before leaving the second time, even with being inside the caves for far longer and in more areas. One logical inference then is something else triggered the effect." Andron turns to Alordan, waiting for the others to free the ranger from the tangling plants before continuing. "Mr. Alordan, are you able to determine when these most recent tracks were made?"

He looks up at Maag when the thief mentions the beast's horns to Saracen. "Oh, yes. Brother Saracen, Sister Lerrick and I could use them for our own augury tokens, if what you have already is sufficient?" Another thought crosses his mind as he looks over at bull man's large body among the writhing vines and tendrils. He strokes his chin, considering his next words carefully. "I could ... actually ... ahem ... make use of the brain."

"Mr. Gramble, would you be so kind as to remove the head?
