1) Post take-over governance of the port. Who is going to be governing the port when we have gone? Why will that group not just reset itself as a Pirate haven?
Depending on if it interests
Tiglath enough, Jakob may have part of a solution for that. Or there may already be a plan in the works that SEMC isn't really involved in.

2) Who were the Zhodani? Why were they there? What was their end-game?
Jakob has an ID, and he'll let that play out with the Z as they like. SEMC doesn't really have the capability nor does it seem to have the interest in kicking the Z out of 268, so we might as well sit back and see how things play out.
Probably getting stoned.

This may help
https://www.unseenservant.us/forum/view ... 75#p553275
Also as per Leitz above.
For 1) SEMC were contracted for a Raid / Regime change so future governance could be viewed as someone else's problem.
2) You could see if Jakob's willing to spill any beans about his xeno encounter - or was it all a halucination... ???
NB No one's seen hide nor hair of any moustache twirling villains since...
3) Freya recalls that the regular Scouts had been rotated out and apparently replaced with staff from other branches (save for Cheech and Chong in the bunker). Their commander was apparently extracted / escaped in company with Major Smith of the Imperial Marines who appears to have changed sex recently... SEMC Intel states that he was also apparently relieved of command due to insanity on Inchin. Maybe the sex change cured him???

This. We were paid to take the downport, what happens after is up to our employers.
That said, Frank is open to ideas from Jacob, and others, but what influence we have will likely be limited.

The discussion of the nuke has distracted us, away from paying the lien.
As I see it we either
1. Give them the damaged ship to cover the lien.
2. Fix up the ship, get some money from a merchant sideline and pay the lien of gradually.
As he doesn't want to owe SuSAG a thing, Frank would prefer 1, but this is a business decision.

Of course they may be another option I haven't thought of.
I'm also not saying that I think the merchant idea isn't a good one, it is, but I'm just thinking of what Frank would think.

Oh yes, I forgot, we need to decide about the Hawkwind too.

How about taking a mortgage on the ship to pay SuSAG?
Then we just pay the bank monthly.
Of course, we haven't priced up the loot from the bunker yet, that might help pay to fix up the merchant, get it earning.

Which would you rather owe a debt to:...SuSAG or Hortalez?

Anyone but SuSAG.
Mortgaging the third ship is a good idea.

Prerna would also prefer the first option over a lien.

Given the way assets work under Mongoose, the mortgaged asset would pay a pittance until the capital is repaid, depreciate slowly and be at risk of loss due to damage, piracy, barratry and war.
After that, it is paying at a reasonable rate but still at risk of damage, piracy, barratry and war.

We don't need to take a mortgage on the full value of the ship, only a loan large enough to pay SuSAG (and perhaps refit one ship).
Perhaps, rather than using the trade-ship as collateral, we should use the transport we intend to travel in? At least then we have it under our protection.

"I think that the key is understanding the value and how much we get vs how much SuSAG gets. This relates to a possible ransom for the Hawkwind and the selling the nuke as well.
The key question, is there a play that we pay SuSAG fairly, keep up or principles and we can walk away with one or more working ships. The key is understanding the value of our assets as well as our percentage and then taking out the best x percent that we get and leaving everything else for SuSAG. Did the deal say we had to deliver it - I doubt it was that specific and if it was then a not jump capable ship could be out of scope for there percentage?"

How much is the nuke worth?
