Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Saracen nudges the ranger. Can you help me see if there are any new tracks leading i it or around the cave entrance since we left?He begins to check himself but won’t move into the courtyard before the cave entrance until Alordan has worked his magic, so to speak.

Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Alordan scans the clearing before entering. Attempting to notice if anything looks different from when they left. If nothing looks unusual or any sounds alluding to an impending minotaur attack then he'll move forward slowly to examine the area for tracks. Maybe his net will turn up.
Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Remember the minotaurs like to sit on top of the rocks above the cave and leap down on us.
Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Tlachtga
Tlachtga looks around for minotaurs, especially above on the rocks. Once done she leads Cu around seeing if he acts funny or appears to smell anything.

Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Lerrick
The cleric looks for a non carnivorous tree to climb, also looking out for snakes and other potential threats. She finds a tree and climbs it just high enough so that she can get a glimpse of the cave entrance and above it, wanting to make sure there is no minotaur above it.
Cresty
The paladin has his shield in his left hand and his sword in his right, ready to fight any threats that stand in the way between them and the entrance of the cave.

Back To Work
Freeday, 19th of Goodmonth
Early Morning, Partly Cloudy, Warm, Humid
If it wasn't obvious earlier, the nose picking minotaur statue has finally convinced Andron that these monsters have all been petrified somehow. The learned priest and mage stops for a moment, looking at the line of odd trees and thinking quietly to himself about future magical possibilities. He suggests keeping aware of their escape routs this time.
Gramble reminds the group of the leaping monster above the cave, so nobody forgets about it this time. Saracen and Alordan look around on the ground, finding fresh hoof prints in the dirt outside the ring of stones. The tracks are not from any normal hooved animal, because there are only 2 sets of footprints instead of the usual four. The ranger sees a few differences inside the circle, most obvious is that the chunks of meat are no longer lying around in the area of the stone slabs. There are a lot more hoof prints inside the clearing, but he still doesn't find his net.
Lerrick climbs a tall tree that hopefully wont attack her. She finds one with no animals living in it this time and scurry's up its trunk quickly with the aid of her magical bracers. She gets a birds eye view of the top of the ring of stones where she finds no sign of any hairy minotaurs about to jump down upon them.
Maag and Cresty stay near the entrance of the stone circle while Tlachtga has her dog Cu take a sniff around. The hound keeps its nose to the ground, walking around in circles for a moment inside the ring of stones before eventually exiting them again in between the legs of the awaiting party members. The dog moves around to the east where it stops short and starts to growl loudly at some rustling noises in that direction.

Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Andronichishche listens intently to the result of Alordan and Saracen's search. He closes his eyes in thought as he considers the implications. With his eyes still shut he softly intones his analysis. "This is an entirely different pattern of behavior than before. Significantly more evidence of movement, especially outside the ring of stones. If it's a summoned minotaur again, why the change in activity?" He blinks in response to Cu's growling and quickly turns to peer into the jungle foliage concealing whoever, or whatever, is rustling in the brush.
Andron holds up a hand in an attempt to silently communicate caution to his companions. He steps up behind Crestbrook and Gramble, quietly clearing his throat as he does so. He speaks out in a strong, even tone, invoking his god by casting the Voice of Rao spell, "My name is Andronichishche, the peace of Rao be with you. We come in peace and wish you no harm. Please reveal yourself so we may talk." He repeats this in ancient Suloise, as well. This may be the mysterious Brutus ... or another minotaur ... either way, this is our chance.

Alordan is alert at the sounds of the rustling. He keeps still with his eyes darting everywhere.
The new tracks are on the outside of the ring of big stones or around the center altar-like stone thing?

Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Saracen hears the rustling and sees everyone turn to face it. He will try and keep his back to the nearest companion but watch the area opposite the rustling noise in case it is a ruse or diversion. He will draw his sword and raise his shield in preparation.

Cresty
The paladin stands firm, ready to strike at the possible foe which causes the commotion behind the bushes.
Lerrick
The cleric quickly climbs down the try and gets behind the fighter and the paladin, ready to aide them if necessary. She states to everyone: I didn't see anything lurking above the cave entrance

Back To Work
Freeday, 19th of Goodmonth
Early Morning, Partly Cloudy, Warm, Humid
Maag gets to the rock circle and begins to climb to the top of the ring again. Saracen wisely turns his back to the action, concerned about the noise being a ruse or distraction. Cresty and Gramble step towards the noise with their weapons ready. Lerrick descends the tree with the agility of a monkey, quickly taking her position behind the fighters.
Alordan and Tlachtga exit the circle and rejoin the others, the druid now standing behind her dog to see what he is barking at. The noise slowly gets louder. as if something is charging through the underbrush towards the group.
Andronichishche steps up to evoke the power of Rao once again, like he did with the barbarian in the tavern. He gets his new spell off quickly, but it doesnt quite have the same effect as it did on the huge human.
Charging out at them from the thick jungle, a huge minotaur that looks exactly like the last two you have encountered here suddenly appears. Also looking rather similar to the statues you have found, it doesn't seem to be effected by the priests words. It slows slightly as he says his "peace", but the spell does not stop its advance. It charges directly at the barking of Cu and his master behind him, a huge ax held aloft, about to cleave the pair in twain.

Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Andronichishche felt the familiar surge of power as the Voice of Rao spell takes effect. He continues peering intensely into the jungle brush, awaiting any response to his call for peace to the concealed creature. He takes a quick step back when a rather large and oddly familiar minotaur charges out of the foliage towards the barking Cu and his mistress. Andron's recent experience with the tree snake inured him to such an attack, especially on this island, so his reply was rapid, but calculated. He moves a couple steps back further from the front line and chants an orison to evoke a bright light targeted directly upon the beast's glaring eyes focused upon the druid and her companion.

Maag draws his sword again and scrambles across the top of the stones. He maneuvers into position above and behind the minotaur.
