Andronichishche
Andronichishche was frozen in stunned silence as Sir Crestbrook's body slowly reverted back to flesh; caught between the instinct to help, but afraid that his intervention would somehow spoil the process. After moments which scaled into years before his senses, Andron could only gaze in absolute wonder that, despite the paladin's wan appearance, the holy gallant was alive again. In the flesh. He then felt suddenly dizzy and abruptly began breathing deeply again after involuntarily holding his breath in suspense.
Andronichishche was startled at Lerrick's sudden hug, unaccustomed to physical displays of affection. He awakwardly accepts the praise with a tentative return embrace. "Indeed. It would appear so ...", he murmurs in a low voice.
While Lerrick tended to the young human, Andron responds to Alordan's query, pausing momentarily to collect his thoughts after the intesity of emotion. "Well ... with this new ring", he holds up his left hand now adorned with a golden ring, "I may be able to elude the wraiths below the ruined temple and use the stone sphere we found to activate the obelisk to the northwest."
He pulls out his leather journal and flips the pages to a current map of the island. With an index finger he indicates the position of the temple past the logger's trail. "The temple itself should be a fairly easy journey and the obelisk shouldn't be too far away, but the way is through unexplored jungle."
He quickly glances over at Lerrick tending to the paladin before continuing. "As I inferred already, I expect we may not be alone. Gretchen's group ... whom we met on the beach ... I believe was likely sent to the island to investigate the obelisks. There will likely be others who are not as friendly to competition, or as interested in the survival of the town."

Cresty
As the pain subsides and the vision from his eyes becomes more clear Cresty now sees members of the brotherhood standing over him. Hunger and thirst now ravage throughout his body. Seeing the ranger leaning over with both food and water is a welcoming relief. He reaches for it, which unleashes a spasm of coughing. He then has a look of discomfort before spitting out a piece of rock from his mouth. He tries again to take the food, this time succeeding. He starts out slow with small bites of food and sips of water, then greedily eats and drinks the rest.
Thank you he states in a raspy voice to the ranger
To everyone...what happened...where...am I?

Andronichishche
Andronichishche kneels next to the paladin and reaches out to clasp Sir Crestbrook on the shoulder. Tentatively at first, then with a firm grip and a broad smile; still not quite believing the miracle that had just occurred, but willing to accept it for the privilege of seeing his friend again. It is good to to have you back, my friend. Indeed, there is much to tell you.
Andron recounts the events that transpired since their encounter with Marquis that lead to Sir Crestbrook's petrification. He did not, however, mention that Brutus had chiseled away Cora's holy symbol from the paladin's statued form ...
Andronichishche studies Crestbrook's face for a few moments, then asks, How do you feel? He touches his chest and forehead. Here ... and here, I mean. Are you able to sense for evil again?

Cresty grimaces as he tries to stand. He grabs Andron's arm to steady himself, almost knocking the spell caster off balance. Err...sorry Andron. The fighter releases Andron's arm. I am quite sure that I have lost my power to detect evil. I am no longer Sir Crestbrook the Mighty. I now pledge my faith and allegiance to Athena. My actions from this point on are to serve her and do Her will. Hopefully...one day...She may grant me new powers.I have to prove myself to Her. Only time will tell He takes a breath and then continues. I'd be honored to continue adventuring with you and the others in the fight to rid this area of the wretched evil that inhabits it. Please refer to me for now on as Cresty.Quonundrum wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 3:17 pm Andronichishche

The cleric raises her eyebrow at Tlachtga's comment then asks the druid.
Would you like a healer to tag along on your search for your new companion, just in case?

Andronichishche
Andronichishche quietly listens to the new disciple of Athena and solemnly nods his head. I understand, Sir ... Mr. Cresty. He glances at the man's chest and indicates with a forefinger the restored holy symbol of Athena. Then you should know this ... Brutus discovered your statue and sundered it apart, chiseling Cora's holy symbol from your chest to wear around his neck, as you do now.
Andron turns to look in the direction of tiny offshore island as he continues speaking. He mourns for her. Perhaps your atonement is intertwined with his fate. He turns back to face the young human. I am studying the magic that binds Brutus to the dais. In time, we may have the knowledge ability to free him, and reconciliation possible.

The Knife
The Knife finally drags himself out of bed late the next morning. He still feels tired and is crusted with sweat and dirt from the previous day's exertions. Good job it's a hammock I suppose. All the dirt just falls straight to the floor. The Knife muses, rubbing his face and wondering if he should just go back to bed.
Finally he manages to drag himself down to the lapping waves to clean off the worst of his grime. Once done, The Knife remembers the conversation he overhead last night about the unknown cleric looking for assistance, and his own idea in the Treehouse.
He cracks a few of his aching joints and heads off around Beachtown in search of the nameless holy man.

After Andron explains in detail what happened to the paladin formerly known as Sir Crestbrook, the man lifts his shirt to look at the area the priest points out to him.kruk wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 3:48 amThe fighter stands tall and looks at Andron. Though the worst of the wound has been healed, where he once wore Cora's pilfered holy symbol of Athena, recently recovered the hard way by Brutus, there remains a bright red stain or mark of some kind on his skin in the center of his chest. The red "mark" looks oddly similar to the shape of an owls head.
Cresty tells the others that he has had a change of heart and no longer retains his former powers, though he seems intrigued by Androns preposition all the same. After regaining his bearings, the fallen paladin believes that he might be able to adventure once again, with this new spiritual guidance he's explained.

To help keep track of everyone, I will start up a quick thread for this mission as soon as I am caught up.
Who's all in so far? Tlacthga, Maag, Lerrick, (Gramble maybe?) Anyone else?
Re: Everyday Life in Beachtown
Tlachtga
While Maag takes care of his business Tlachtga goes looking for Gramble, "Hey Gramble, heading out to look for a animal companion with Maag and Lerrick, would you like to come along, love to have your axe available just in case."

Waking up, she wonders where the Princess has disappeared to, as signs of her not being around the tent are evident. She decides to wander around a bit and see if she can spot the other three returning, or run into Knife and/or Darklin.

Andron is done with all his work on the 2nd, so if Tlachtga can wait until the 3rd maybe we can kill two birds with one stone? Andron wants to go to the temple to activate the other obelisk. On the way and/or back, Tlachtga can find an animal companion(s)?

This will hopefully only take a day and then we can all head out together.
