Durgo

We seek the remains of the famous Sir Guy. The Red Lion. We could use a strong blade such as yourself for an equal share of course. I am a young fighter with hopes of a knighthood possibly. We have a good group here. We've run into gargoyles, ghast and orcas cultist. Weird structures best left untouched. We lost one of our friends to such a thing on this last expedition.

"Fydmar, let's see if there are some things about town we can purchase or if they can point us to those who might."

"Our next expedition should leave around the 20th of July 1066."

The tall archer listens to Durgo's pitch, his mind forming questions though some can wait til later. "Being new to this Duchy, I've not heard of the Red Lion, but I have heard the tales of dangerous tombs somewhere in the moors, and treasures to be found there. Your invitation is a bold one, but this quest makes it sound like you're up to a bit more than simple fortune hunting.

"Gargoyles? ...I confess I never seen one that wasn't cold stone. The living ones, it's said normal blades and arrows won't harm them, and that's all I have to hand. I'd be of more help with your cultists and such. I been in a skirmish or two with orcs and gnoles before, and I can track a target if you need."

"Did you speak of holy water earlier? Those, ah, priests at the Chapel of St. Ygg make their own and might have extra to sell you. I haven't the coin for such fine stuff, but they've promised me some in payment for my services. One vial only."

Cweareando wrote:"Our next expedition should leave around the 20th of July 1066."
"Hopefully I can wrap up me work for the brothers by then... It's the awful drudgery of ink and parchment, you see. They have me translating some papers, which that lady paladin delivered here from a lizardman cult... you call this lot Saurons." Elbart unrolls one of his scrolls to show the group. It has columns of curly sepia script, beside columns of words in Common. "I learned their writing from one of the friendly tribes we have in the marshes out west. This is a primer, lucky I brought it along... goodness knows I have little else to me name."

Durgo nods to the Elbart, "Welcome, We certainly could use a tracker with us. Just in case. Most likely this expedition will be in the barrow we've focused on that we believe has the remains. Genaromes and I have been working on a map of this particular barrow. Lord Krothos and the Mercenary guild are aware of our efforts. The last expedition gave us some information on what's in the immediate area near the Harpie lair area. We are all of varying skills here. Yours would be a welcome addtion. Take heed though. It is challenging and we need to be smart about how we approach stuff. Protect yourself and minimize your risks.

"I'd imagine the chapel has a limited supply of the holy water on hand. We can certainly see if any can be obtained. Cost will be the concern. We have used oil pots as well but it can get smoky."

"It appears to be a very useful skill too. I don't think I've heard of the Saurons. A paladin you say. It must be important. I think it will be the morning of the 21st before we head out. We can wait for you if needed. We ran into an Orcus cult in there too. There are objects that you do not want to touch in there.
Be warned. It's best to make sure something is safe before touching anything in there. If you get close to a Ghast you'll likely puke. Be prepared as best you can."
Drugo checks in with the others, "Let's get our stuff sorted out and gear purchase that we can afford. I'll talk to the mercenary guild about getting Rickford and Duvall to help out. Rope, Oil, Healing kit or similar, holy water perhaps on faith. Some effective weapons for Gargoyles. I have some Silvered arrows and a silvered dagger that could be helpful.

Fydmar
I'm going to buy 20 flasks of oil if that amount seems appropriate & they will sell me as much. As far as holy water, if someone who has a relationship with the chapel wants to see if they will part will a couple flasks, I'll contribute to that as well. Perhaps the priests there will have thoughts on what can harm gargoyles that we haven't thought of. Durgo, when we are done here, I need a word about the minstrel (when they exit, he will take Durgo to his room where he will give him 100gp (deducted) for the minstrel.

Durgo

Durgo privately with Fydmar signals to Fydmar to keep the coins, "I just put some words together friend Fydmar. You should be the one to pay the minstrel and make sure it's a good turnout. I'm ok with that. Thanks for doing that. I think we will all appreciate it."

"I'll see if the chapel can help us out with some holy water for the quest."

Durgo

Durgo eventually accepts the 100gp coins and heads off to talk to the minstrels. "Thanks you Fydmar. You are a true friend and valued member of our group."
