Re: Quest #14 "Hidden Fortress of the Poison Spider Monsters
The Long Walk Back
Godsday, 9th of Goodmonth
Late Afternoon, Warm, Humid, Buggy
Just like with the lizards, Gramble seems as if he wants to go do something about this noise, but he is quickly outvoted by his comrades who would all prefer to keep moving.
Several hours later, as the party approaches Beachtown with their huge sacks filled with spoils from the maze and from the dead, they notice something that definitely wasn't there when they left town. A huge, blocky sailing vessel is anchored a short distance off shore along the west side of the beach. The ship barely looks like it should be floating, much less sailing, but none the less, there it is bobbing up and down on the calm surface of the Azure Sea.
Once inside the town limits again, the tired and beat up group is glad to see a few familiar faces around.
Actions?
As always, continue to post anything related to this mission right here. Please feel free to begin discussing or recruiting for anything you might want to do from this point on. I will start the long dark task of getting some XP figured up for this (so far most deadly) quest yet later today.
Marching Order:
Jaxsen 10/10
Gramble 10/10
Jeevus 3/3
Brother Gilbert 8/8 1/3 first
Avaala 10/12 CL DM RM 2/2 first 1/1 second
Saracen 21/25 1/4 first 0/1 second
Maag 9/9

Re: Quest #14 "Hidden Fortress of the Poison Spider Monsters
For Crom's sake!!! I guess I didn't realize how much you guys were carrying!!! I didn't need to make up that bit about getting lost at all! It would have taken you 3 days to get this stuff back anyway.
First, a list of the normal items taken off the deceased members of the group.
long sword
scimitar
bastard sword
sling/stones
long bow
chainmail
leather
2 backpacks
2 large belt pouches
1 scrollcase
7 candles
8 torches
4 large sacks
1 flask of oil
1 lantern
3 fire kits
I think some of this might have been divided up already, but I wasn't about to read through the last 65 pages of posts to figure out who took what normal items. So, please try to be honest if you have already laid claim to any of these items. Thanks!

Re: Quest #14 "Hidden Fortress of the Poison Spider Monsters
Maag has Eawad's lute and a magical(?) dagger gifted to him by Judson after the death of Storm the druid. I think he got it from the hoard of the giant spider. I haven't checked what it is because it has to be at least 30 pages back in there somewhere.
EDIT: Found it. Page 37. And yes, I obviously have nothing better to do.

falls to the ground he then puts his longbow away and he turns to Maags. He reaches into his bag and pulls out the dagger he claimed in the other room I was wrong about you. If it wasn't for you that thing would still be alive. He holds the dagger carefully by the flat edge of the blade with his fingertips and then moves the hilt of the blade towards Maags and smiles. Take this...I really have no use for it anyway. Judson then hears the scream from the other room, and rushes towards the room grabbing his sword in the process.

Jaxsen is carrying most of Eawad's stuff. There is a list on Jax' sheet. Anything that he would have kept is now part of his possessions. Anything that was being kept for sale later is in "Notes". That is why I keep mentioning setting down the bag before doing anything other than carrying it.

Ok, that is very helpful! Thanks guys!
You can divvy up the rest of this stuff however you all see fit, since you dragged it half way through the jungle to get it here.

And finally, the reason we do all of this crazy stuff on here.......the XP rewards! (you should see some of the stuff you are looking for on this list, but just shout if you have any other questions)

Re: Quest #14 "Hidden Fortress of the Poison Spider Monsters
Avaala is definitely carrying two books, one of which detected as magical. He is also willing to carry as much as he can without falling behind.

Jaxsen
Of Eawad's stuff, Jaxsen kept the thieves' picks and tools and two daggers and whatever clothes were better than his own. (Jaxsen has/had? a fairly "tattered" look to him.) Most of the mundane items we have has some small value, but the sets of armor could be quite valuable. Of course, we may be using them ourselves, so it may not come to a great deal of money. But on this island, every copper counts!

Maag
Maag suggests everybody has a look through to see if there's anything they still want to claim. Then we can lock up the rest in one of Nehru's shacks and either give it or sell it to other adventurers as needed. Better than selling it to the Hi Lo and buying it back later at four times the price.
We can put some traps on the place to discourage the less honest members of the community from sampling the good when we are out of town.
"Sum people are right fievin' gits when yer turn yer back", confides the half-orc in a low voice, looking around suspiciously.

Avaala the Grey
"I can offer my shack for storage. I've toughened it up some, and I actually own it, as opposed to renting it," Avaala says. "So no one has any business inside it but myself."

Re: Quest #14 "Hidden Fortress of the Poison Spider Monsters
I need the gold so I am up for selling whatever people don't need.
Re: Quest #14 "Hidden Fortress of the Poison Spider Monsters
Saracen took Storms Scimitar and Sling and bullets, and whatever armour was most likely to fit Monocar, either the chain or scale Mail and a shield if there is one. And the Broadsword for him. He will restock his own quiver with the arrows and put the armour etc in a backpack and pop another belt pouch on his belt.
He agrees he desperately needs coins to pay for lodgings and food so anything they can sell is also good for him.

Ok, great!
I am editing the lists as I read these so they stay current.
If anybody wants more of the normal items, feel free to claim them.

Saracen is willing to augury them to see if they are safe before use.

Maag is up for an Augury on his new dagger if possible. Cheers! He'll also add one of his old daggers to the pile to keep his encumberance the same.

Jaxsen Reiter
Jaxsen speaks up. "I have taken two daggers for myself, as well as some clothes and tools from Eawad's possessions. I do not believe I will need anything else."

"Also, I have an enchantment to help us discern the exact properties of the items we have determined to be magical in nature." Avaala then adds, "I hope some of the townsfolk have located some oyster beds...."

Brother Gilbert
I have no need for more possessions; use my portion to improve the lot of the villagers. A good night's sleep is worth more than gold. The idea of sleeping in something resembling a bed seems glorious.
