The Lost Halls of the First ElvenKing, The Mountains of Mirkwood, Rhovanion, Middle Earth
March 23, Year One of the Fourth Age
Day Five. Late Morning. Cloudy, damp, cold
The Company slowly, cautiously emerge from the ancient crypt of the lost ElvenHalls.
But Naruthirdor lingers in the tomb. Moved by the heart-wrenching beauty and sorrow of the ElfQueen in mourning, he softly reads aloud the runes by her peerless statue, a passage from an elvish hymn to the Queen of the Valar who set the stars in the sky, given new meaning here.
- O Queen beyond the Western Seas!
O Light to us that wander here
Amid the world of woven trees!
O stars that in the Sunless Year
With shining hand by her were sown,
In windy fields now bright and clear
We see your silver blossom blown!
We still remember, we who dwell
In this far land beneath the trees,
Thy starlight on the Western Seas.
The Company urgently whisper for several tense minutes, laying plans for an ambush! They quickly, quietly get into position as Gilly relights her torch. They do not wait long.
Folco creeps northeast past the dwarves. All three see the Uruks' torchlight burning some hundred feet to the north, around another bend. But the hobbit doesn't get the chance to follow it.
For suddenly, the fiery brands glow brighter!
Iron footfalls grow louder!
The Uruks are coming this way!
Actions?! (...for the next two rounds, please:
1. Readying: As you await their seeming arrival, you may move or make further quick preparations.
2. The Ambush: Please roll dice and post actions in case the ambush can be sprung. Thanks!)

Naruthirdor prepares his daggers, and to stay out of the way of the more seasoned fighters. He takes a moment to think on a Bless spell, but isn't certain he'll get the whole party in the Area of Effect, and realizes that they need to prioritize healing, so he discards that thought. But he does try calming his senses, to ponder the verses he's read on doors and statue as they wait. Considering his martial abilities, and being in the second rank, I'm assuming Naruthirdor isn't attacking, though he will if the opportunity arises.

Rumil will take a spot with the other archers, with some cover if possible. Bow at the ready, arrows set for use.
Attacks with Short Bow
Short Bow [1d20+1] = 11+1 = 12 to hit [1d6] = 1 damage
Short Bow [1d20+1] = 16+1 = 17 to hit [1d6] = 5 damage

Folco rushes back into the room and opens the southern door.
Staying inside, well out of the firing lane, he hurls a stone towards the mob once they come into view.
Sling Bullet [1d20+6] = 7+6 = 13 Damage s/m:[1d4+1] = 2+1 = 3 l:[1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7

Glasik Ironfoot
When it becomes time to run, make sure you drop your torch or you'll make yourself a target, Glasik quietly reminds his sister. Do you want to head south toward the archers or go into the tomb and attack from behind the Uruks?
After he gets a response, he will begin speaking loudly, making sure his voice will carry to the Uruks. Dammit! It's just like the elves to leave us dwarves while we rest. They don't want us to learn their secrets. They gotta be around here somewhere. With that, he will turn the corner, hoping to make himself visible to the advancing enemies. When the Uruks see him, he will yell Run, Gilly! and hightail it to whichever direction Gilly did not choose. If he heads south, he will get just far enough to get out of the torchlight before dropping flat on the floor to avoid the arrows that will soon be whizzing above him.

Elbenarin waits tensely for the archers to soften up the Uruks before approaching them from behind.

Gilda Ironfoot
"Come get some, ye pig-Buggers!" Gilly shouts, once the Uruks realize the Dwarves are near.
Heeding her brother, she casts the torch aside (hoping it don't go out) and runs into the shadow with Red at her heels, barking all the way, to lead the toward the trap.
Once out of sight, Gilly flattens against the wall (as much as she can), shushes Red, and readies her pick. When they pass by, she attacks!
Footman's Pick: [1d20] = 7 Damage: [2d4+1] = 7+1 = 8
Red Attacks: [1d20] = 5 Bite Dmg: [1d4] = 4

When the time comes, she lets fly two arrows.

To hit with bow [1d20+5] = 1+5 = 6

Vindoboduoc
Vindo prepares his short sword, hiding behind the shadows of the cracked door. As the vile spawn pass, he will slip out and ambush the nearest from behind.

The Lost Halls of the First ElvenKing, The Mountains of Mirkwood, Rhovanion, Middle Earth
March 23, Year One of the Fourth Age
Day Five. Late Morning. Cloudy, damp, cold
Deep in the lost ElvenHall, the Company urgently lay an ambush as their prey suddenly returns!
With a hue and a cry, the dwarves quickly leap from sight before Uruk archers can target them!
All is tense.
The Company waits.
Iron footfalls grow louder!
The coming torchlight burns brighter!
Arrows are fitted to bowstrings and drawn back!
Ax hafts and sword hilts are gripped in anticipation of the blows to come!
All of a sudden, the first Uruk warriors burst around the corner, their faces filled with terror and madness!
The Company's archers fire! Shafts hum past Folco and Glasik as a spray of arrows blossom across the Uruk's chests! The hobbit's sling-stone dents an iron orc-helm!
Gilly, Elbenarin and Vindo lunge forth, weapons poised to strike! But the fight is over before it starts! Three Uruk-hai warriors lay dead, their bodies feathered with arrows.
Of the rest there is no sign! Naught follows in the Uruks' wake but silence and darkness!
Actions?!

Glasik Ironfoot
I expected more. Maybe we got lucky and the others found some traps for us. Still, we need to be cautious.

Elbenarin nods at Glasik, "there are likely more. Help me drag these into the room beyond..." He drags a foul Uruk into the room they were hiding in.

Folco cringes at the ease of the skirmish, wondering if any more monsters will follow these.
“Great shots, everyone, but did any of you see the looks of terror on their ugly mugs? They were crazed! What are we going to find up ahead that would frighten these bullies so badly? You know what? Don’t answer that! I don’t even want to know.”
Checking to see if his sword is still glowing, the burglar will light a candle off the torch and take a closer look around the crypt, respectfully.

Vindo suppresses a reaction and simply helps drag the uruks into hiding. He rifles through his corpse before returning to the others.
