Saracen sights down the man bull incase it tries to flee.
If you subdue it we might be able to question it and maybe find out what’s going on here! he yells across the clearing, doubtful anyone will listen. Adventurers tens to be a rash lot he has found.

Sir Crestbrook the Mighty
Agggggghhhh BY THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE SEVEN SILVER CIRCLES!...BACK TO THE FOUL HELL YOU CAME FROM! The paladin turns and charges the beast swinging his sword in a chopping motion intended to slice between the horns. However, the blade misses the beast altogether, striking the ground and burying the sword several inches into the ground.
[1d20] = 7 [2d8+1] = 12+1 = 13
Lerrick
Having made little progress on climbing the rocks, the cleric sighs and steps down, just in time to see a large bull head beast land a crushing blow on one of her allies. She rushes to his aide, casting a spell of healing to the badly injured ranger.

Welcome To Minotaur Island
Freeday, 12th of Goodmonth
Early Morning, Warm, Misty, Buggy
Undaunted by the sudden appearance of a 10 foot bullman, the fighters get to work carving up some beef.
Alordan and Gramble rip into the monster with their steel, cutting off chunks of the massive creatures hide and flesh. (Alordan finally learns that his new longsword is +1) The ever outspoken Sir Crestbrook does more damage to the beasts eardrums than anything else, screaming out his battle rage as he buries his blade into the dirt at its feet.
Lerrick cautiously climbs back down from the rocks near Maag, noticing that her magic armbands must only work in trees or vines, since they don't seem to be helping her climb on these large rocks. She scuttles her way over to Alordan in hopes to cast a prayer of healing on the injured ranger. (Since she needed to move more than 10', she cant also cast a spell in the same round. So that action will need to wait till this round)
Maag leaps and climbs across the uneven tops of the rocks, getting into place to attempt a leaping backstab, hoping he connects. Saracen stays put near the entrance, suggesting that the minotaur be spared for questioning, but doubting that will actually happen. The half-orc begins to hear an extra rustling of leaves and branches in the jungle outside the rock circle, but when he turns to look, he doesn't notice anything making the noise.
The badly injured monster does not relent his attack, swiping at Gramble this time since he nearly fell the beast with one blow. The stoic fighter takes a gory wound across his upper arm for his trouble. 9 dam

Alordan tries to match Gramble's attack and help deflect the attention off of him.
Long Sword Attack [1d20+1] = 13+1 = 14 (THACO=18)
Long Sword Damage(+1 str/+1 weapon) = S/M: [1d8+2] = 8+2 = 10 / L: [1d12+2] = 1+2 = 3

Maag
Maag scrambles into position above and behind the bullman. Then, drawing his sword, he drops down, attempting to skewer the creature as he does.
'arry the Bastard Sword (THACO 18) [1d20] = 16 Dmg S/M [2d4+5] = 2+5 = 7 Dmg L [2d8+5] = 14+5 = 19
I think it's +4 to hit and double damage as well isn't it?

The paladin screams in frustration. He yanks his sword out of the ground and attempts to plung the weapon into the mid section of the beast. AAAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!! DIE BEAST!!!!! The blade thrusts into thin air, missing the intended target badly once more. It is clear that the paladin is not living up to his "self-proclaimed" name
[1d20] = 11 [2d8+1] = 12+1 = 13
Lerrick
The cleric cast the CLW on the ranger (as intended in the previous post +2 hp healed). only to see close hand the bloody attack on Gramble. The cleric makes preparations to heal Gramble next.

Welcome To Minotaur Island

Now in a desperate fight for its life, the bullman continues its assault upon the fighters, hacking into Alordan again in its crazed fury, but this time only nicking the outdoorsy human. 4 dam The howls of the huge minotaur are only outdone by the party's own paladin. The not so mighty Crestbrook fails to injure the evil beast yet again, but his much quieter new friends are there to pick up his slack.
Alordan and Gramble continue to chop and slash away at the badly injured manimal, nearly bringing it down, when Magg suddenly drops in on the action as well, quite literally. The squat half-orc pretends he can fly, jumping from the rocks about 15 feet over the top of the action, leading with ol' 'arry the bastard. His large blade penetrates the minotaur's spine from behind, sliding in all the way into his inner organs with the entire weight of Maag behind the blow. The beast topples to the rocky ground, quite dead, while Maag also plops down a bit harder than he hoped, taking a bit of damage from his fall. 3 dam
Lerrick touches Alordan, knitting together the worst of the rangers wounds, but she sees that her work is not done yet with Gramble and Maag both injured now as well.
With the deadly action over as quickly as it started, Saracen looks out through the rocky entrance, hoping to spot the source of the rustling noises he heard out there. He doesn't spot anything other than the trees, vines, and branches swaying in the soft ocean breezes. Then he spots a smallish tree that he doesn't remember seeing when the group came in this way. In all the excitement, the half-orc just cant be certain.

Saracen calls to the others. Errr guys... was that tree there before when we passed? It doesn’t seem familiar at all? Anyone recall? I get the eeriest feeling!
He trains his arrow upon it and waits for a response. If it moves beyond the breeze, he will fire at it.

The paladin regain his balance after lunging and thrusting his sword into "thin air". As he turns around he sees the fallen foe. Immediately he stabs his sword into the lifeless body and screams in glory: AGGGGGGGHHHHHH!! WE DID IT EVERYONE!!...WE DID IT...NICELY DONE!!
Lerrick
The cleric ignores the screaming paladin and tends to the massive wound Gramble received from the foe.
CLW on Gramble: heals for [1d8] = 6 hp
Satisfied with her work, she gives a warm smiles to the huge fighter. Next time move out of the way from the bullheaded man with the big axe. That had to hurt. She then turns to look for any other members of the party injured in the battle.

Maag winces as he puts weight on his twisted ankle. He sticks the other foot on the body of the bullman and wrenches 'arry the bastard free. "Second rule of not gettin' killed: watch yer back", he says with a grin.
Hearing Saracen's warning about the suspicious tree, Maag decides that if a tactic is worth doing once, it's worth doing twice. He climbs back up to the top of the rocks.

Lerrick lends a healing hand to Gramble next, mending the worst of his nasty wound, and wishing the paladin would hold his voice down out here before something else jumps on them. Maag retrieves his sword from the dead body and scurries back up onto the rock formation once Saracen calls out his warning about the approaching tree. He doesn't spot anything suspicious from his elevated position.
Alordan and Gramble join the half-orc at the entrance. The outdoorsman trains his eye, studying the foliage outside the stone ring. Branches and vines sway in the soft island breeze, but nothing appears out of order to the ranger. He doesn't recall the tree being there earlier either, but it doesn't look threatening to them in any way. Then Alordan remembers what his ferryman Joe told him on his first trip to this island. Something about the plants coming alive or some such nonsense like that.
Peering into the ominous cave mouth, Sir Crestbrook spots what appears to be an area of natural bedding of fronds and leaves just inside the dark entrance. The cave beyond is so dark that nothing else can be seen beyond a few feet in.

Maag
As if reminded by a voice out of the ether, Maag suddenly remembers the cave. He decides that there's more than enough people investigating the magic tree or whatever it is. His very particular set of skills might be more useful poking around down there, especially with his new 10' pole.
Then Maag recalls that he dropped the pole outside to climb up onto the rocks. He starts to jump back across the rocks, intent on climbing down to retrieve his pole.

Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Alordan gratefully accepts the prayers of healing, "thank you - that helps a lot". Before moving to the cave, Alordan considers the tree further. "How does one talk to a tree?" he wonders aloud. He thinks a little further on what could be viewed as a friendly act to a tree and has an idea. He'll take out his water skin and slowly pour some water at the base of the tree....
