OM: How are you treating 0 hp? Is it dead or unconscious? If not dead, what are your negative hp rules?

We will keep it plain and simple for this game.

0 hit points = unconsciousness

-10 hit points = death

The ceilings here are 15 feet high.

"Don't worry Sprig, I'm way ahead of you." After a failed distraction (sorry Finnigan), Grossphil will just continue to stand away from the battle and over next to the portal he entered through.
But the rope trick was just what Sprig needed to anchor his darkness spell without also totally boning the party... :)

This was great. :D

OM: Not sure how you play affects of magical healing on neg hp PCs. After the 2 CLW I cast on him, is Fin able to fight at this point, or does he need more (how much) recovery?

I usually require a full nights rest for anyone who has been reduced to unconsciousness before they can do anything strenuous (like fighting). Since that has conveniently already happened, Finnigan is good to go for today.

Also, you are free to make your own healing rolls, if you like.

Great idea!!! :D

(When Pumfrey went back through the eastern portal of this room, he did not join up with the others who had still not exited the living room.) Sprig thinks he may be on to something, though he has no way to be sure until more of the portals are explored. He finds plenty of sealable glass jars and other spice shakers lying around near the spice rack.
Sorry, I should have specified: I was intending for Sprig to use hi gnomish Chance to Know Direction Underground ability (50%, so a coin flip, I guess :) ). I figured since he has that ability in the first place, he’d have some reason to have a funny feeling about how they arrived here. Seeing as I’m making the map, and am pretty certain as a player there is something going on ;) , it was really just more for flavor (and something to do while we wait). But maybe you were already taking his ability into account?

Lets just say that Sprig isn't sure which direction he is facing in here, even when he uses his gnomish ability. (And neither does Fin.) They aren't sure why.

I think Elitir gets back 2 HP for resting another day, or has that not happened yet?

Quite used to staying put for hours on end, Mac is happy to agree with the party. He spends his time writing in his book, using the large table for a surface. "I had this wonderful idea for a group activity. Everyone creates an alter persona of a fantasy world. One could be a scribe, or a teacher or even a letter carrier." He motions to the table. "One member creates a setting, such as travelling to a town, and we act as our alter personas would act. I plan on calling it Mortgages and Managers."
Hahaha.
This is very good. :)

That hasn't happened yet.

Monsieur Rose, I think you should have Mac cast his charm spell at the thief before he tries to run back through the portal. We might be able to get valuable information about the layout of this place and what other surprises we might encounter if we can befriend him.

OM: How high is the room we are in? Can I have my boots bring me up and then stop (hover) & cast a spell? How do you rule hold person - do I need to be able to see the opponents?

I know I know! :)
They’re 15’ high. I asked when I cast my darkness spell yesterday.

The ceiling in both rooms you have been in so far is 15' high.

You can levitate up to 20 feet high in one round, but you cant use an item and cast a spell in the same round, so the spell would have to wait till next round.

You must be able to see your target for a Hold Person spell.

Thanks. That's what I figured / meant - that it would be cast the following round.

I will be leaving for Raleigh NC WAY too early in the morning tomorrow for a bit of a holiday. I'll mostly be unplugged until Sunday afternoon.

I will try to keep up with Finnigan in case he needs to do something other than kill thieves. I think we all know what he will be doing here for a little bit, anyway...
