Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
We have a couple painted up like locals. Trojan horse? Are there materials around that we might build a wheeled box?

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
Horton musters up the energy of a lifetime to project the hurried bluster of a soldier on a mission. He snaps out a quick salute to anyone nearby as the group hurries out of the camp. Horton does his best to make this look like directed action. He throws out some formation instructions over his shoulder to the rest of the party as they are leaving to complete the brilliant ruse.
He finishes with a dramatic flourish for the benefit of any soldiers nearby before they are out of earshot: We will find her, men, and bring her back here safely. Mark my words.

Coil23, Should that last post go in the IC thread?
Would someone spell out the details of how you're approaching the guards at the door? Do you want to use the Furniture Barricade for construction materials?

I'm in for 2 too! Anything to get us away from these soldiers.
Maybe Schroff could also bark like crazy and create a distraction?

My feeling on this (if everyone's game) is that we covertly gather furniture and what nots from the large room and construct a rolling box, maybe just a big dresser on wooden wheels. Pile everyone in and pushed by those who've been painted up like soldiers with Beaker leading the way:
"Beaker, Shaggy. You are welcome as an envoy on behalf of Duke... Which Duke was that again? Marl? Cephalothorax? Archambeault? You have a retinue of... ah, one 'Mouse' is it? Not actually related to rats, is it? Not a spy? Keep a close eye on that one, eh whot? Harumpf. As envoy, you will be assigned a tent near the Officer's Quarters, and may avail yourself to Army materials within judgement of the relevant Officer, Quartermaster, or Sawbones.
Something along the lines of "Very important delivery related to Duke Gretna". Then see how that plays out.As Beaker attempts to push past the Quartermaster's desk and delve further into the tent of supplies, he squeals, "You there! You are not permitted among the goods! You must be the Duke's man, hmm? Duke... Gretna, was it?

I like the "construct a rolling box out of a wardrobe and climb inside" idea. I say we head for the barricade room first.
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
In the interest of forward motion, I defer to the barricade idea. Lead the way.

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
Hi all,
I'm travelling in Australia and New Zealand until the beginning of March, and will try to pop in as I can, but kind of expect I'll be pretty sporadic.
Assume Deet and Schroff go along with the consensus, and if you need the extra hits, feel free to roll for them. Or if it's more convenient, assume they've camped out somewhere and will catch up later.

Hey, I'm back! Sorry I had a lot of stuff to deal with and completely forgot to come and check how things were going. I'm gonna add "answering on the board" on my schedule so I don't make anybody wait or anything.
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
We totally understand, WizLiz. Glad to have to have you back!
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
It may be time for another player poll!
Does the party want to:
1. Help The Wooden Soldiers fight the rats?
2. Sneak through the NW door?
3. Hide in a tent until its all over?
4. Turn on the Wooden Soldiers and fight for the rats?!

I'm liking the odds for number 2 although 3 makes me think of something else...

Well we never said we came to this place looking for friends right?

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
From the responses, both IC and OOC, so far, I conclude the party breaks down like:
Ghosting is the better part of valor: mjulius, ChubbyPixie, coil23
Let slip the hounds of rat-war: Urson, GreyWolfVT
Voices yet unheard: Stirling, Wizard Lizard, mb.
Would those with stated positions care to move towards a consensus? Otherwise, I'll wait about a day and proceed with the majority.
Or split the party.
