Clay agrees that the wargs need to be killed before they wake. He silently wishes he had waited to waken the plants until the goblins had come out of the shelter, but does not speak of it. Does anyone here speak goblin that can try to draw them out of that hole?

If no one speak up, Clay will call out in common. You are outnumbered and outmatched. Come out of your hole unarmed and you may serve our purposes. If you try to fight, you will just die. Like your mounts. He hopes they will be dumb enough to walk into the weeds and become ensnared. Or at lest throw their weapons out of the cave.

Sorry I didn't mention that - Foxy's arrow did minor damage on a warg, which then was ensnared by the initial entangle. I also made a clerical error - the sleep spell affects two wargs, rather than four, but the outcome is the same. The two that didn't get entangled initially both fell asleep and are entangled now. The two initially entangled are awake, but still entangled.

You don't need an attack roll to kill a sleeping foe, but they're all in the Entangle area of effect so you need a Save vs Spells to reach them with a melee weapon. Shooting a sleeping/entangled foe with a ranged weapon requires attack and damage rolls vs AC 9. Damaging but not killing them with a ranged weapon, of course, wakes them up. In this case, they'd still be entangled because of the overlapping effects.

Clay yells down, his teenage voice sounding as authoritative as possible, trying to intimidate the goblins. They do not emerge at his request.
Clay intimidation [5d6] = 14

Foxy O'Hare

"We need to kill these wargs now, kept alive they will tear us to shreds. The writhing grass and roots will awaken them and if they are strong enough they can pull free. Kill them now while we have the chance." Foxy tells the group. She takes aim from outside the grasping area and f@#ks the shot again.

Foxy is sure the red five mage curse follows her still:Foxy: Shortbow short range: [1d20+3] = 1+3 = 4 arrow damage: [1d6] = 1

Halfpint will then switch to her bow and arrow, and will aim for one of the awake wargs.

Shortbow [1d20+3] = 13+3 = 16; [1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3

Clay encourages Baxtaw to shoot at the warg as well.Ms. O'Hare is right this time, I'd say. Still on bender knee, Clay pays for Beith's blessings on his companions. A warm, sweet smelling breeze passes through the area.

Cast Bless on the group this round.

I think only the of you have ranged weapons. Unless the grizzly woman has something she hasn't used yet. And we're still waiting to see if we are going to be joined by... That other druid character.

Baxtaw takes aim at one of the sleeping wargs. They may not sleep for long.

+1 MW Bow[1d20+3] = 17+3 = 20 Dam[1d8+3] = 1+3 = 4

The Grizzly Woman looks around for a big rock. She hurls it at the wargs.

Clay invokes Beith's blessing, aiding his companions, an invigorating smell of fresh earth rising in what was a place of death. The wargs remain bound, the goblins making some noise in the cave but not emerging. Foxy first snaps off a shot with bravado, bruising her arm with her bowstring (-1hp, fumble). More cautious on her next shots, Foxy, Baxtaw, Halfpint, and Grizzly (who is heaving rocks) eventually launch enough missiles to slaughter the wargs bound in the vines while they are held fast.

The vines stop writhing, becoming quiescent, the goblins still having not emerged. The wargs lie in the grass, studded with arrows. (All arrows are retrievable.)

Foxy O'Hare

A bit useless with the bow for the present, (gone are the halcyon days of Greenleaf trials), Foxy draws her scimitar and runs to one side of the cave mouth, away from being silhouetted outside. She shouts into the cave, "If we have to come in, then you won't come out. So come out and you can keep walking for we have skinned your wargs and will do like wise to you if we have too. "

Seeing Ms.O'Hare advance on the cave, Clay joins her with Morr, inviting the others along. Goblin nature includes treachery. If we leave these alive, they will either attack us from the rear or call on their kin to do so.

Baxtaw- Pulls his arrow from warg. Moves up with Foxy to cover the cave entrance. Bow ready to fire if they come out fighting.

All arrows are collected by their shooters.

Foxy also demands the goblin's come out. She and Baxtaw wait expectantly by the cave mouth.

Several minutes pass. Nothing happens.

Foxy O'Hare

"If you don't come out we will send in the bear to eat you alive. I know this cave, there is no exit. You can crawl out on your knees or die on your feet! The beast master will count to ten in goblin then the bear mistress will send her grizzly in..."

Hoping she has the upper hand in persuasion, bluff or intimidation, Foxy calls the goblins forth from the cave. Charisma roll vs goblins in cave [3d6] = 6

The Grizzly Woman

The Grizzly Woman shrugs. "I do not think they are coming out."

She looks questioningly at Foxy, ready to whistle the bear into the cave and follow suit.

At the end of the count, Clay shrugs. They've had too much time to prepare. Let's burn them out instead. Anyone have a flask of oil handy?

Halfpint nods,

I agree. They now have had plenty of time to prepare a defense, and perhaps even an offensive against us. We may need to scatter a bit and try something different.

Foxy O'Hare

"The bear will be 'blessed' by your spell as much as any of us and oil might be a resource later. I'm sure they won't want to face a 'grizzly' death. If we stick to our threat I am sure we will coax them out. I will follow the bear, who is with me?"

Foxy will look to Grizzly Gal, she might not be too keen to send Honeysuckle into a cave alone, but Foxy thinks the strategy good. If the bear gies in she will follow, otherwise she will let folks throw in flaming oil flasks.

Unless we have another sleep spell. We need to rest anyway so getting over this quick and staying the night here is to our benefit.

The Grizzly Woman examines the cave entrance. "A fire could be tricky. If the cave has good air, the smoke may just come out the entrance instead of choking them out. Some magic would do the trick, otherwise I am happy to thump some heads."
What is the general shape of the cave opening? Does it seem like starting a fire at the mouth of the cave so that the smoke flows inward would be too much of a stretch?

Seen more closely, the torn-apart bones in the field are definitely human, consumed by scavengers, torn cloth bits and bleaching bone looking about a month old. It is now joined by the four warg bodies, recently slain... more grasses stained red.

The cave opening before you is a narrow cleft, just high enough for a human to enter upright. Sooty black residues stain the stone above the cleft, showing smoke clearly sought this cleft as its way of escape in the not too distant past.
