Hyde continues chasing rabbits.
Unless the shouting of Druids rouses him, in which case:
Hah? HAH??

Galan:
[1d100] = 17 wake up
Galan opens his eyes and pauses to listen a second before rising. Moving to shake the others, he speaks up. "Hurry, we have company." Pausing to grab a pouch and he blade, he slinks out of the door before taking off and a run, trying to flank the action.

They don't seem to be moving forward, yet.enn.in.me wrote:How far away is Dandelion from Yenny? Also the red-eyes, do they seem to be approaching her, or just seem to be planning to try to shoot arrows at a prone target?
"Dandelion! Wake up! They called you fat! And they think your scarf clashes with your belt!" (If only Yenny were a 5e bard and could cast inspiration....)
Re: Chapter 9 - At the Sambords
Zig-zagging and using whatever cover may be available, Yenny runs towards goblins. In goblin she yells:

Re: Chapter 9 - At the Sambords
Seeing Dandelion stunned, the brave gnome rushes towards the goblins as she shouts a warning to them.
A two word reply in goblin is called in return: "Onu uldrmuk!"
In Goblin:
A volley of arrows is released at the dodging gnome. One kicks up a puff of snow. Another flies wildly into the night. But one finds its target...a small gap in the plates at the shoulder!
Attack on Yenny [1d20-2] = 3-2 = 1, crit [1d100] = 48
Attack on Yenny [1d20-2] = 20-2 = 18, crit [1d100] = 98
Attack on Yenny [1d20-2] = 6-2 = 4, crit [1d100] = 78
Undaunted, the gnome continues. Another volley is released. These are much more on target! One pings off her armor. Another hits her shield. But another finds its target, grazing her neck.
Attack on Yenny [1d20] = 15, crit [1d100] = 66
Attack on Yenny [1d20] = 20, crit [1d100] = 99
Attack on Yenny [1d20] = 16, crit [1d100] = 16
Dandelion groggily tries to collect herself, still in a haze.
Meanwhile, inside Galan, Hellebore and her mother are woken by the shouts outside. They rouse the others, and all rush outside (waking and rousing others takes up the whole round). They feel the cold of the night through their clothes. From their vantage point, the goblins are 180' away. They see Yenny running towards them, moving gingerly with pain. The gnome is 40' from the goblins. I assume she's not carrying all her possessions since she's on watch, so she can move at 60'
Seeing several enemies emerge from the house, the goblins seem to be preparing to run.

Yenny stops and yells out loudly in her own tongue, casting Hold Person at three of the archers. Ideally she will have some cover while doing this.

Re: Chapter 9 - At the Sambords
Angus raises his bow but lowers it again with a scowl when he realizes that the goblins are well out of range.
"Let 'em run," he says quietly to Hellebore. "I got me another bad idea. When them goblins are good and gone, we might could track them, you and me, to see where they came from. If there's another goblin hole around here, I reckon we got us our next job once Arnuf's back to normal."

Hellebore growls, clearly frustrated by their distance. She seems molified by Angus' words. She leaps off the porch advancing as far as she can before whipping a stone after them, hoping to provide some cover and deterrence should they think further of Yenny and the horses.

Re: Chapter 9 - At the Sambords
Arnulf appears at the doorway, his ample frame silhouetted by the glow from within. His face is groggy with sleep, and he appears confused.
"Seriously? I'm finally getting some decent sleep with no nightmares and we get attacked?" He raises his voice a little, reedy and querulous in the darkness. "That's right, piss off back to your holes!"
A dart appears in his hand, somehow he grabbed it from his satchel when stumbling to his feet. He holds it, prepared to throw if the goblins advance.

AAAAAAA! Hyde buffaloes past Arnulf, equally annoyed that a perfectly good slumber is interrupted. Cowards! All Goblins be cowards! Yous come afta these Hobbits at night, then run away when some who can fight show up, hah? He barrels after Yenny to assure she does not get trapped by the Goblins.

Re: Chapter 9 - At the Sambords
Yenny, bleeding from three wounds, casts aside her shield and pulls a piece of iron from a belt pouch. She rubs it, chanting:
"Carnes ferro, crassis sanguinem currere!"
The goblins flee as they see the number of their enemies multiply. But two are too slow. They freeze in place as Yenny finishes chanting. The remaining three run off in a southeasterly direction, squealing. Hellebore chases them with a half-hearted volley from her sling, and Arnulf chases them with an angry taunt.
Hyde rushes down to Yenny's side, worried about her exposed position. Dandelion moans, but appears to be coming out of her daze soon.
Angus suggests following the escaped goblin tracks tomorrow.

Re: Chapter 9 - At the Sambords
Assured that they are gone and leaving Hyde to deal with the frozen foes, Hellebore goes to Yenny insisting she relent to inspection of her Wounds.

Re: Chapter 9 - At the Sambords
Galan moves to tie up the two frozen goblins. The need for information out weighing his blood lust.
Re: Chapter 9 - At the Sambords
Eventually, Dandelion utters,
I am like so embarrassed. I pirouetted left and everyone knows after an arrow fling, to go right. no wonder I got so spun around. Did I run them all off with just my one shot?

Re: Chapter 9 - At the Sambords
"Thank you Hellebore. Your touch does wonders."
Wondering forward, still keeping a keen eye out for an ambush, she says,
"Galan--thanks to you too. I would certainly have killed the little suckers, and I think you are correct that we might be able to pull a little information from them. It might even be fun. Then we can kill them and get some sleep.
Dandelion, you did great. They realized that they were not suitably dressed for visiting our friends and have left to change into something more appropriate. You bring out the best in all of us."

Re: Chapter 9 - At the Sambords
Hellebore nods politely to Yenny's compliment, then seems a bit abashed upon seeing Galen's foresight. She checks the mounts and straightens the yard, lost in memories now tarnished by Goblins and bloodshed.
Re: Chapter 9 - At the Sambords
Hyde visually inspects and verbally berates the frozen Goblins, then ritually punches each in the face for GP. He then helps Galan bind them. To make sure they behave themselfs, yeahh, is his answer to any questions. They don't get any of Mama Hobbit's stew, do they?
Re: Chapter 9 - At the Sambords
Angus puts his bow away. "Well, that wasn't the greatest watch setup ever," he says. "Us in the house damn near could have slept though Yenny and Dandelion getting killed. Either we'd better stay outside for the rest of the night or we have to find some way to wake people up if them critters come back."
He peers at the held goblins in the distance. "Wonder what they know," he muses.

Re: Chapter 9 - At the Sambords
Arnulf yawns again.
"Umm, can I go back to sleep now? I'm suddenly really tired. Or is it my watch?"
